- We could not have predicted just how incredible this show would be, and how lovely the atmosphere was. Thank you. Join me as I hurriedly run around the show, taking in some of the majestic cars on display. From an amphibious truck to TWO Renault 5 Mk1s, Plymouth Fury to Suzuki Wagon R, Lincoln Continental to Citroen AX. Variety was very much the theme. Should be do it all again?
Rustival merch available for a limited time at rustival.co.uk but HubNut merch always available at hubnut.org - including pink Hello Happy shirts!
Thanks everyone.

It was an amazing day Ian. Thanks for taking time to chat with myself and my wife to be. She's not massively into cars but thoroughly enjoyed your inclusive event
Hey, it’s me on 00:54 in the blue focus!
It’s was a fabulous day and really enjoyed it. The car show where people come first. Roll on next year!
Hurrah! My SEAT Toledo got a shout-out... indeed, it's a rare car in the UK. It's a V5, too.
Nice to have said hello to you and Carly
Oooh, nice!
Should be called 'Noncours' Nice to see two Audi 100s ,fantastic loading capacity as seats fold completely flat.
I am so old that at some stage in my life most of these were regular street furniture and were seen just driving about - indeed I have owned a few - so I can sit back with a warm glow knowing I lived a life in great automotive times.
I had a bit of FOMO last week, as im on the other side of the world and thought we would all miss out on the action. boy was i wrong.. Huge pat on the back and a well done to all involved organising Rustival! absolutely marvelous.. and a huge thanks to all the other youtubers who posted excellent videos. what an magnificent day. hopefully the first of many more in the future... huge congratulations!
For me i have to say, the 2 stand out cars of the day (as a youtube viewer) were the Silver Granada Estate and the blue Volvo 144. but so many other wonderful machines! Thanks again to all involved for so many hours of awsome viewing!
So glad of all the videos as I couldn’t make it this year. Excellent variety of vehicles.
What a fabulous line up, so many once common, or never common cars.
I would call that a massive success, well done Ian, Carly, Matt and Steph
Hurrah!🎉🎊 Ian what an succes! Brilliant! Words are failing ! 🫶
Absolutely fantastic video Ian miss hubnut ❤👍 Absolutely stunning classic cars totally amazing brilliant
Got so much joy from watchin' this! So many interesting and quirky cars on show, a good few I didnt know even existed!
WOW! What an amazing event you put together! Well done! Wish I could have been there.
What an absolutely massive feat of achievement! I just wish I had been able to attend this auspicious event and wish you and the Rustival team all the best for the future. Massive thanks for sharing. Well done Ian, Carly, Matt & Steph for creating this amazing event.
Looks like a great day, been really enjoying the videos from the event, well done to you all, thank you.
That's me and my Austin A40 Farina, there with the WDSC! What an amazing show Rustival was! Hats off to everyone involved - not just the big names, but also the countless people behind the scenes that helped to keep such a massive event running so smoothly. I wish I'd had the chance to say hi to you Ian, but there was just so much to see and not enough time in the day to have a look at it all!
Fantastic turnout! Great to see such an eclectic and inclusive event.... congrats to all involved. 👍👍👍
Very cool car show, lovely varying selection of cars there :)
Spotted me and the hounds at 5min45sec…. The big fella with the tattooed head, in the flying jacket with the lurcher, Jack Russell and the pug…… Diego gave my three a good telling off at the merch stall…..even though he couldn’t see them! 😆😆❤️
hopefully there will be a rustival 2025! my morris minor should have completed her resto by then, so will be coming all the way from plymouth!
The most amazing thing isn't that you you know all of the cars...it's that you know all of the owners!
That Audi avant H reg is a handsome car. Love the way the rear is styled.
Well Done to you and the team Ian. It was a great show! Thank you!
Ahhh finally some car content as in the old and initial days. I love this kind of reports.
Will be doing good for the views as well I imagine.
Cheers!
What an excellent show....great coverage thank you 👍
ian, carly, steph and matt, it looks like you all pulled off a great event! well done to you all
Ive been to a lot of car shows but none as inclusive as rustival, the hard work from you karlie steff & and Matt paid off a huge thank you. On top of that the sausage bap wasn't bad either from the farmhouse kitchen 😊
It was a brilliant show and I had several long conversations with some very friendly people, including the trials Robin man. My favourite car was the Rover P4 with very patinated paint and an astonishingly well cared for engine bay. Must’ve spent many hours working on that.
What a terrific event! Well done, Hubnut family ❤
Great day out and great vid,I think we need a full episode on the home made aquatic vehicle
It really was a fantastic day and I enjoyed every minute of it.. Thank you and Miss Hubnut for having your pics taken with me and even briefly chating to you.. It's always great when people you've been watching on a screen for many years prove to be just as great in Person.. Loads of fantastic Cars, almost made me kind of jealous in a way. ;D, But it was great meeting You, Furious Driving and Steph and many more... Thank you all for a brilliant day and I definetely hope to be back for the next one. :)
An amazing selection of cars … looks like a grand day out … must get myself to one of these shows ❤
Outstanding event. Phenomenal first event.
Great day, just wish I hadn't left it so late to book the day off work, as otherwise I may well have brought the Super National along. But I did very briefly appear in the background of your video when I was chatting to the owner of the Chevrolet Caprice, what an amazing car that is! I also couldn't believe how many Citroën Visas came along, I've previously owned two of them myself and they were rare then (mine were both 652cc flat twins too). I even managed to bump into a former housemate from when I lived in London 23 years ago, who I didn't realise was a Hubnut fan!
Well done to all involved in organising this event, I shall definitely come to the next one if it happens again.
You've outdone yourself again, it looked fantastic.
I think the 20s are a learning and experimental time of most people's lives. You're still figuring things out. I felt much more secure in myself by the time I got to my 30s. You never stop learning as you go through life. Keep doing what you do!
Splendid show. Well done folks.
It was a great day Ian, well done to you and Carly along with Matt and Steph for organising a great show. Spotted my car behind that Celica cabriolet. Good variety of cars featured.
This was an awesome show by the look of it. Such a wide variety of vehicles, and each video I've seen thus far has brought that to light.
Amazing! What a fantastic collection of cars - Katy's Scirocco looking good. Next time let Ms Hubnut do the walk around, though.
Nah, we'd only have seen Daihatsus. 😂
@@markstott6091Of course not.
..there were Peroduas as well 😂
Please do a review of that amphibious truck thing if possible.
Hi Ian/Carly thanks for the message shame I missed rustival hope you had a great day looked it. I spotted upgraded 1988 5 speed 1800 cordia turbo white e424ykk nice car lived in Wales.danny from practical classics asked me for details of the car and pics. Take care Mick.
It was a fantastic day, it's amazing the number of cars, I never managed to catch myself , Rover, Volvo and the Morris Minors were well represented from what I seen on the day.
Spotted myself being filmed for Mark on Motoring, I did see you whizzing round as that was happening.
So great to see all those cars, many of which I have owned in the past, a real trip down memory lane, pity I didn't see a Peugeot 505 or 605. Couldn't make the show but this was the next best thing, that Ian / Carly
Great turnout and weather too! Win win.
You're looking happy, healthy and rather younger here, gladdens me heart. Thank you. X
That's my LDV 200 series! Got soo much attention on the day.
Was a great amount of stuff there and had a fantastic time 👍🏼
Would love to do a video on it if you're willing? ian@hubnut.org
@@HubNut I'm sure we could work something out. Me and my dad also have several other vehicles you could be interested in doing videos on if you wanted. Will send an email later 👍🏼
Beautiful. Amazing. Nice.
👍🥰👍🚗💨🇫🇷🇯🇵
Looks like an amazing day was had by all Ian.
Fantastic event, enjoyed every minute, even though I had work at 6pm and was exhausted by midnight.
Hopefully there'll be more of them, as I've now set myself a target of finishing one or more of my projects so I can go in one of those.
Got really excited when Ian said "an LDV Convoy" but was stumped for a while when only 1 van rolled through shoot. Then I remembered that it was the van model name not a literal convoy of vans. Been a long day is my excuse.
Such a perfect event. I realise that you cannot possibly have the time and energy to do the whole thing justice, frustratingly as a punter but exponentially as a well known and loved organiser! Until the next one ❤
What a fantastic show! Would have loved to attend, but your video was the next best thing. I loved the Citroën GS van; never knew they were made! Spare a thought for the maintenance bods, a complex vehicle to work on, and vans tend to be abused! My favourite car, apart from Betty? All of them!
Looks like it was a great show, makes me feel (more) homesick.
Fantastic show well done to all involved my Mk3 Cortina had some great company for the day, looking forward to the next one.
Looked like a brilliant show Ian & Carly some lovely motors on display. Hoping to get to festival of the unexceptional later in year.
Looks like it was a great day.
Amazing day from the minute I walked in, thanks for hosting, Carly for friendshipping, Hublets for merch-ing, fabulous people and cars from the minute we arrived. Can't wait for the next social 😀
Cracking show, weather was kind to us too 😊
Well done for helping organise such a great show Ian and many thanks for posting the video of it. I've really enjoyed it. All the best for next years show. 😊👍
i had a fantastic time, thank you :)
For Rustival 2, put Friendship Corner on the entry road in so poor Miss Hubnut can see all the cars as they come in
So pleased that the day went well for you all.
So many great comments across social media about the event. You pulled off something amazing.
Looking forward to the next one.
Thank you Ian for the shout out and doing those little signs 👍
I'd also like to say what a great event it was looking forward to next year's 🙂
Looks fantastic! I was stuck up the road in Coventry hastily replacing air suspension on a drooping Mercedes. You may have heard the cursing from there 😋 At least it now stays up 👍 Very glad it went well
Oh wow some lovely cars
I would've loved to come along to Rustival, alas work commitments prevented it! I definitely hope you have another one and maybe see you then.
Shout out also to the venue, was a superb choice. My humble suggestion would be to repeat every 2 years. Thanks for a great concept and great organisation and comms too.
Lest it is forgotten, there were many, many more than worthy vehicles parked in the visitors' car park that deserved to be on show - presumably because their owners could not get exhibitors' tickets - I'd hate to think that they were misdirected. What a fantastic show this was. Great to meet friends and natter for the first time in ages, as well as meet new in the real world at last - this one talks too much!
Simply, congratulations to all.
We did indeed have a rush of purchases after exhibitor passed sold out.
@@HubNut - no bad thing either, Ian👍
A huge success not only in numbers, but in the atmosphere that with such events should be held - similar to events that we at Great Western Saabs, on a smaller scale of course, have made possible and hosted for the last 20 odd years - social, informal, dip in, dip out, activities for young and old, oh, there'll be cars there of not just the Swedish variety, and friends for life made.
Congratulations, once again!
A fantastic day you should be proud of what you’ve achieved! Cracking venue as well - I’ve needed an excuse to go to the museum for ages, and Rustival worked out perfectly.
My car was the AX next to Lincoln, I think I could’ve fit it in the boot. Followed the Lincoln in to the show - what a sound!
Well done all involved. I have a feeling you're on to something pretty special with this show. Dare I say you may even have to do 2 next year to cover the country.
12:13 If that Fury is your cup o' tea then Coldwarmotors channel has your kettle on
Oh wow!
A very enjoyable watch!
Good show, just wish it was a bit longer as by the time I'd quickly walked around both car parks, the museum and the collection building, it was the end of the show. Just so many people and cars turned up 😳
Was a great day and well worth the long journey
Live chat went and crashed for me at the end there. Thanks Ian and Carly yet again for an amazing event!
It looked amazing, I take it that there will be a separate 1 hour special on the Talbot Expresses I spotted in the background? 🙏😂
Nice. Thanks. 🙂👍
American pedant here. 23:53 As late as the mid80s model names were still more like today's trim levels on the full-size Chevrolets. This '69 is most likely a Biscayne (the lowest trim that year) due to the lack of details implying Caprice's vinyl top and a lack of badge between the front wheel well and the door. Allegedly sporty Impalas and properly posh Caprices proudly wore their badge. Biscaynes also had four tail lights instead of six on the upmarket models.
Edit: Your correspondent now knows, In actual fact, there was still a BelAir in 1969; legendary in the 50s but by '69 the second lowest trim. With the four tail lights, and badged on the fender.
I so very wished I could attend. Stupid foot of mine going a knacker. I'll have to get the next one. Much love! - Ivy Fox
Looks like it was a great day some nice motors
another great video has always Ian and Carly miss/mrs hubnut and hublets and hubmutt 👍
Wow what a great turnout. The BMM (was the Heritage centre) at Gaydon is such a great place for these kind of shows. I used to work next door at JLR. Will make to to some shows hopefully this year. thanks for sharing Ian so many great classics
A great show
A huge show of cars Ian,a bit of everything except a Subaru Brumby / Brat.
Glad to see it went well. If you consider doing one in the frozen north, I'd be happy to assist once the glaciers recede.
A 'Did You Know' moment appeared with the first entry, an Austin 7. In 1928, it was the first motorized vehicle to reach Cape York peninsula - and return. The same car went on, shortly after, to complete a tour around the two main islands of NZ. Unfortunately, while aboard a freighter to the US - to carry on Austin durability - the ship foundered and was lost somewhere in the South Pacific
A great show, I had a lovely day👍
It was a lovely day. And my red 2cv appears in your video too! Bonus!
Aww, the Myrtle replica. :D
BXs are always great to see, haven't seen one in years, here in Finland.
The Cavalier III/Vectra A is one of those cars that have aged so damn well.
Brilliant show! Wish I had the means to get there.
Wish I could have been there, but was driving back to Pembs for family obligations. Lovely collection of everything wheeled!
Hooray for the Wagon R!
That reliant trialler special was driven by exactly the sort of bloke I imagined would own it
Well i think it's time i pulled my finger out & start coming to these shows, I've watched many many of your "any car" goes video & never seen my model of car in amongst them,,,so time for me to start the citroen c4 Picasso & grand Picasso 1st & 2nd generations representations, which is strange because they are such a popular car on the roads!
Seen that A reg Gold Renault 5 in Hadliegh a lot, lovely machine
Wish we could have made it.
It looked a fantastic turn out of cars and people.
Cars driven and worked on in garages, driveways
And people with no ego's
🎉🎉🎉
Loved seeing the Citroens especially the Xsara Picassos. Should of kept mine. 😂😊
What a fantastic show, please do it again.
You briefly mentioned the Lancia Thema 8.32. Whilst that car did indeed have a Ferrari engine block, all the internal parts of the engine were built by Ducati. It's kind of an Italian "greatest hits" compilation car.
Now we need some sans permis visitors. Unfortunately the only part that could rust would be the chassis. 😬
Excellent video Ian and a nice looking event. Makes me think of the American Dreamcars event I went to near me here in France last October. Held on an Intermarché shopping centre car park.
BTW, I'm not far from Montlhéry (t is not pronounced 😉)
Bonne continuation !
