    This is good stuff.
Christianity is not a set of priorities with God first and your concerns second. Christians have only one priority. Paul says what that priority is in this passage - to know Christ, to share in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death (which means dying selfish concerns) and so somehow to attain to the resurrection of the dead. How could any other kind of “faith” which functions as a way to sideline Jesus from being the only focus possibly be enough? With the grief that the preacher has experienced simplistic shallow faith just doesn’t cut it and it won’t for us either.
There is a shaking in the world right now. And there is a shaking in the church. Anything that isn’t attached to anything will be cast away. What are you holding on to? Your own plans? Your career? Or the cross? In the current climate some people, even those in the Church of England, think that to hold onto Jesus, to set your life only to live out His concerns, is crazy. But I think not doing so is crazy. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. To choose anything else is to be at sea - to be lost. But to choose Him, and in order to ensure that choosing Him is an act of worship, you will pay with all you have. But if you choose Him, seriously choose Him, you’ll discover that everything you offered to receive Him had no value aside from Him anyway.

Why is there a woman "preaching" to a mixed congregation? It started with women like Joyce Meyer and company, now it's everywhere. I'm a 62 year woman and i learnt from scripture that women must remain quiet in church. And don't respond that as Christians we aren't under the law! If you believe that it's just more proof that this church teaches a different Jesus and a different doctrine.
