My mouth literally dropped when the whole canopy lifted like that. Thought the 37s were the best thing about this truck. Then you throw in that. Nice job man. Coming from a jealous stock ZR2 owner. Love the diesel I just don’t drive enough for it to be healthy. V6 worked just right for me.
The different options are what it's all about. V6 or diesel, we all have different plans for our trucks. 👍
I thought the same thing about the 37's & then that tent aha. A dream truck I want someday hopefully.

For sure man. I hope you have great times in it. I’m taking my stock zr2 out on a real trail for the first time next weekend and my first group run August 17th. Great video I love your set up. It is bad ass but not obnoxious! I have been trying to find actual real people reviewing the topper lift. I have a canyon 6ft bed with a leer cap. I am trying to decide if I should save up for this. I am 5 ft 4 in, do you think I would be able to stand up inside it? I just sleep on the floor and close the tailgate right now and it is fine for me except I just want to be able to stand upright sometimes! Also have you had any problems with the lift system or tent material? ect... Thanks! So cool and totally jealous!

Nice set up, what was the name of the bed cap rack? K2? I think I'd make a taller bed and only 24 to 30 inches wide. I'd make tons more storage space under the bed. and a 24 to 16 wide walk way that you could stand in. How well does that stay dry on the inside?

Ah! I was following a friend while driving back from a trail. We just got on the freeway and the rocks that were stuck in his tire tread loosened up and fired back at me. I kinda like the crack.
What infotainment center is that?? I didn't see a link for it. Ordered my EZlift beginning of last week, after I confirmed it does work with the decked system- super excited.

Awesome setup! How did you deal with the fact that the front left corner of the truck bed has a slope to clear the fuel filler pipe? Did you have to put the foot of the jack screw inboard to get to flat floor? Did you need spacers for the upper clamps if the jack screws are mounted far from the rail? From your video it looks like all 4 jack screws are spaced the same distance from the top rail. Edit: looking again, the front left jack screw looks like it is mounted higher due to the sloped section. How did you mount the foot on the slope?

@@readyrig4x4 Thanks! I don't do instagram, but if you could measure how far from the corner each jack screw is located I will know where you mounted them. I need 400 more miles before the truck is broken in. Just ordered the ARE shell (10 weeks till delivery).

So of course that canopy lift is awesome but what happens in a storm? How much rain runs down in between that fabric and the bed walls?
It all depends. My first night camping in the topperEZlift was storming and I didn't exactly have it set up correctly so I took on a little water. But since then it's been dry as a bone through the rain

I only have a windoor on the passenger side , but went with the cx hd with internal support cage!

I'm running at 1,500 rpms at about 70-75 mph. I'm losing gas mileage from start and stop traffic. My MPGs are down to 19-20. I've been actively trying to drive slower and more cautiously.

I calculated 3.92's would support 35's with our diesel.
So, 4.10 's may be fine ......
Have you flexed it? How is articulation? I'm very on the fence right now...and 37s with a low COG may give me the last push.

I think the Z71 is a great truck. There are some difference between the two though. Make sure you do your research before you choose.👍

What did you do to clean the gas out of the tanks to convert for water. That sounds a little sketchy to me.

I don't. I've only been in the rain with it popped up twice and if there was any leaking it was minimal

Tried to get a local body shop to chop the fenders last July but they didn’t want to do it lol.
I already had the RTT hard shell or the easy lift would have worked for me as well!

I actually, cut off the rear shock mounts and rolled them, so they don’t hang down past the diff!
@@casTingcall07 no need to move the mounts. We did shave a little bit off though. You're going to need to find a way to strengthen what you decide to chop off of the mount

No lift at all. Just the wheel well chop.

Look at his other video, no lift at all! That's what is so crazy awesome about his setup
AEV and Chevy both run 35's with no lift, just fender cut. AEV has a fender cut kit in the works to replace the fender flares.
@@thesal1000 that would be awesome! I think the fuel door is kinda in the way already and if we cut the fenders like in this video, the fender flares would get pretty thin around that door
I heard running 37’s on a ZR2 will lead to axels getting blown, if u push the vehicle.
I have a theory on that but I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings.
Also, I did fully expect to break something on this trip. Looks like the strength from the stock geometry is holding up..

Only reason I went with the desil canyon over the zr2 is cause I wanted the 6 foot bed which the zr2 only comes in the 5 foot.
You can actually get a 6ft bed ZR2 but you have to get the extended cab instead of the crew cab
