I have learned so much from Aaron. He is a chemist with real passion for perfumery. Great video. Amouage Dia is one of my favorites from the brand. Exceptional floral perfume.
I always love you two together. Aaron has so much know-how and so much to say, but he's always inherently shy. Chris really brings him out, and I enjoy how respectful the two men are of each other for their different strengths.
I agree, they have great chemistry. I also like the ideas that Chris brings to videos, as well as the questions he asks. Aaron would probably keep it pretty linear (as he does in his own videos) which I love, but Chris just brings that x factor and outside pedestrian perspective.

I love hearing Aaron talk about fragrances and break them down like he just did. Thanks Chris for having videos with Aaron, so we can hear more of that. For me it’s more than just liking the fragrances scent. It’s learning about what goes into to each one and everything else so I really appreciate it. Keep having him coming on.
His hands alone can tell a story. The way he poetically moves his hands when describing notes, makes me wonder if people that know sign language can understand him.

The best part of watching Aaron talking 1fragrance is his body language.. people can say anything about a perfume , but you can actually watch his movements , facial expressions , and you can get the exact idea or visualize the shorta effect its gonna make on you and people around .

Reflection Man is a fantastic fragrance that isn't the sort of thing I generally want to wear, but would love to smell elsewhere.
I'm curious of Reflection 45 would be different with its amped spiciness and woodiness and richness to balance the powder. Thoughts?

And this is why xerjoff alexandria ii is my all time favourite. It’s soft and powdery with lavender and vanilla, but the Oud in the background sucker punches you in the face out of nowhere. It’s such a perfect balance

You bought that bottle really quick as well, remember you made that video about the compliments at Esxence and basically had a bottle within days. I haven't tried R45 yet myself, I do like the original, but not that much. Don't like iris at all myself.
Tried in Harrods a few weeks back. Its nice but as mentioned the price / scent value proposition doesnt work for me

Sounds like it became a expensive trip 😄 I have the OG Reflection Men and assume its very similar, just maybe a bit deeper and of course stronger.
The original lasts great for me, so will stick with that for now. I will definitely pick this version up in the future, though.

I’d assume the safest way to start a conversation on the right foot with a fragrance reviewer is by complimenting how he/she/they smell.. knowing that, how do you discern a genuine compliment from a customary/polite/fake ones when you’re known as someone who reviews fragrance?

You’d be surprised, I have over 50 bottles and most of them are niche. My most complimented fragrances are JPG Le Male and Layton.

Reflection 45 to me (at least my bottle) smells no different from og Reflection which is so disappointing to me.

Compliments could mean you’re shockingly (smelly, beautiful, ugly, just shocking). Doesn’t always mean a good thing.

The original was one of the worst perfumes I’ve smelled so far. Headache inducing neroli bomb. That’s still my favorite thing about perfumery though. It’s all so subjective. There’s a lot of beauty in that alone.

Synthetic aromachemicals. Cashmeran, kephalis, karanal, some musks like Habanolide. All have a metallic woody vibe. 'Metallic' is like a hot iron smell. Used a lot in modern perfumery.
I’d guess it’s woody notes that also have a metallic smell.
Bois Imperial and Ganymede spring to mind. Akigalawood is quite metallic (in my opinion)
