- Las Vegas Inside & Out is off for another staycation in our fabulous home town - this one just a few minutes from home. We are doing an impromptu Saturday night stay at the Silverton Casino Lodge, three miles south and a world away from the bustling Strip. We will tour the Luxury King Room, stop at the Sway Pool Deck, take a swing through the casino, look at the bars and restaurants, and spend some time at the mesmerizing aquarium visiting with the famous Silverton Mermaids! But we won't stop there - across the road we go for dinner at Dean's Place, and then a big tour of the flagship Bass Pro Shops right on property! You won't want to miss a minute of all that there is to see and do at Silverton!

"Welcome fishermen, hunters and other liars." That gave me a chuckle and thank for the tour of the property. I didn't realize that the Bass Pro Shop was so big.
OMG the place is ridiculous huge - you might be tempted to ride your bike around it lol!
That place looks beautiful!! I just love that theme....feels like home 😊 I messaged Dale a pic that is right up the Bass Pro Shop alley! Our good friend is Bob Foulkrod who supplied most of the mounted animals there! He’s a world famous hunter but a local PA guy 🥰 Him and his wife are wonderful people.

Nice local casino. No wifi with resorts fee is ridiculous. Probably not a place i would visit on vacation from Pennsylvania. But if i was a local in the area for sure. I just got a offer from the mirage for july 2022 for 7 nights 3 people for under 300. So i may be coming back ❤️

Wow, 40 years! We are so impressed with your longevity in your marriage, and of course your revealing and current Vegas information videos! How lucky you two are, being able to book a room at the Silverton at the last minute, and go to visit the property! We would need a number of months of saving to try to pay for even one night! So we really like watching you both, Paula and Dale, and love the factual presentations of your experience! What a place, you are having some gins by the pool, and having pot roast in that beautiful luxurious restaurant, what a life, Paula and Dale! I bet that salmon and pot roast were delicious! We love your piece on the bass pros shop, we like to go there and take the kids, they like to look at the guns and the aquariums they have in those places too. we bought our kids some hats from there as their Christmas present last year. They loved the hats and they look really good in them. Paula, we love your recent hair style, its so current and lovely and as always Dale, you look so well groomed and both of you are fashionistas! We love your clothing styling and choices and we hope to try to dress better too, someday when we have a little more savings! A real nice off the strip local place. Did not know about it. Would diffently go during the week do to no coffee out internet in rooms.
Fourth years is a amazing gift you both share. Any marriage has up and downs. Both of you Dale and Paula have still found value of love in you. It is a gift. If not untried it would not play out for this length of time. You both are a gift to each other. Happy anniversary for fourth years.

Haven't been around for awhile. Penny and I were married in August as well (53 years ago) and it's been a year so I've been just hangin. A little bumpy, but no worries: it's all good. Really glad I checked in: the Silverton really looks nice. Looks like a quieter vibe than the Strip/Downtown and nothing wrong with that so this is another one I'm going to check out when I get back to LV - maybe later this year. Thanks so much for doing this. You guys are the best and keep 'em comin. Your vids helped me then and you're helping me now. Can't wait to see where you're staying for your anniversary! All the best.

As for the stay experience - well we all know that sometimes it does not work out, it goes badly...and you decide your time and money are too precious to waste! We do that too.

I would pass the Silverton Casino a lot. Kept wanting to stop, but never did. I am glad you are doing this! Awesome, I can not wait for the big tour! You guys are so amazing! 40 years! Congratulations! Great looking property! Green Grass in Vegas...nice! Luxury King. Looked nice and clean. I love the Bear picture! It does look like a Mountain Lodge. Wow...no internet access, that is unusual. Nice view of the pool. An Aquarium...Oh that is really cool! Love the Mermaids! So cool! I am loving the Silverton. The Casino floor looks so amazing, and the bars look so amazing. I like Darius Rucker. Good Tunes. The Mi Casa Grill and Cantina looks really nice. Ok, Let's go to Dean's Place. Dean Martin was awesome. Looked a little lonely in there, but very nice. Oh my goodness! That Pot Roast! Nice looking Salmon too! Great looking food and a really good price! Bass Pro Shops are very cool. They truly have everything! I definitely want to stay there after watching this. Thanks so much for sharing, this was great! All the rates in Las Vegas are simply outrageous right now. As so are the rates in Gatlinburg, TN

Thank you so much for this video. I consider Silverton to be amongst my Top 5 locals casinos in Las Vegas. I still find myself there quite frequently at all times of the day or night, although not as often as when Seasons Buffet was open before the pandemic. The cell phone connection inside that buffet is horrible, but the food was reasonably good and an excellent value for the money. I was even lucky enough to find a ton of ammunition (and spend a lot of money) last month at Bass Pro Shops that I hadn't been able to find anywhere else in close to a year. But I had never actually stayed in a room at Silverton or seen the pool area before. Now I know.
Same with us! Have spent time there, quite a bit, but never saw a room before - now we know. :)

Great video, you guys! I remember when the Silverton was so small - and most of its parking lot was still gravel! I had NO idea they own so much land or have the long-term plans you describe in the video; very cool and very exciting for locals and everyone in Vegas. Their Mexican restaurant used to be really good - I haven't been for a long, long time. Funny gambling story - just outside of said Mexican restaurant, I hit 4 Aces one night back-to-back on the same VP machine! Very nice run! Keep up the great content, Happy 40th Anniversary this week, and YES, we would love the mermaid doll for Nova's daughter, Summer! :)

The. Mermaid would great here in Port Alberni British Columbia, the water might be a bit cold in the Pacific Northwest for a mermaid but we’d keep her inside where it’s always warm! Keep the shows coming, planning on coming to Las Vegas in the spring of 2022 and are using your shows for planning .

Congratulations on your 40 years. We used to stay at the Boomtown and then Silverton years ago. Remember it was about $50 a night back then. You could pan gold outside. We caught the bus and changed at the terminus at Vacation Village. There used to be great live Country music there on a night that entertained us whilst waiting for the bus back to the Siverton. We watched the houses past there going up so quick over time.
Been back to Vegas lots but only at that end to visit the Outlets. It's changed so much.
Our first stay was part of a coach tour of the West and that was at the Sahara. We took a small plane from the Grand Canyon. I remember the Circus Circus buffet was $2.99 for lunch!
Next stay was with friends at the old Alladin. You got free rolls at the crap table and won buffets and shows all the time. There was a guy who wore a large Stetson who was a comedian there and was hysterical. He was so good. Just remembered think he was part of Country Tonight show.
I loved Vegas back then.
Doubt I'll ever return now but have good memories. It's a long trip from the UK.

Thank you for making our mind up on where we want to stay at least for a night or two the next time we're in Vegas! The no wifi is a definite downside but we could live with it for a day or two in order to enjoy the aquarium and the mermaid show! I'd really love to park myself in that lounge and just relax for a while! Wonderful video!

My hubby and I would stay there when it was Boomtown. They used to have a chuck wagon bbq that was to die for. Nothing better than smelling steaks on the grill. We haven’t stayed at the Silverton but it sure has grown! Bass Pro Shop is one of our favorites. Spent many hours in there and yes….lots of dollars, we love it. Another great video.
Oh the old boomtown, bbq was good but not the buffet back then.

Stayed 5 nights at the Silverton once back in 2013, it was awesome. I loved that place. Haven't been back yet but hoping in the nearest future I will be. Thank you for staycationing there! 🙂
I would like to have that cute mermaid, she’s so cute. After coming to Vegas for many years I’m getting tired of the strip. Silverton seems like a nice place for a few days. I enjoy traveling around Nevada to see other sites.
We do too...there is a different vibe, a more relaxed atmosphere, when you go off Strip.
