    The truck driver did an excellent job here. You would not believe the nightmare story I went through with a dump truck driver when I ordered crusher run gravel at my place. It had been raining cats and dogs for months in Georgia ( as usual here ), and the driveway at one of my properties was washed out in places and flooded. So we needed some crusher run. This dump truck driver drove up my driveway, without dumping anything, and then attempted to turn around in a tight spot and backed into a electrical pole four times!!! And then he got stuck in the mud and couldn’t get out. I had to call electrical folks to look at the pole and all the damage he did/all of the electrical wires attached to the pole including the transformer ( to the home ) were damaged since he shook the pole mightily when he hit it with a huge dump truck full of 20 tons of crusher run. Finally, the two guys from the electric company were able to use their big trucks to pull him out with a winch wrapped around the base of a tree ( they said they do this all the time in bad weather for their own electric big trucks ) while a bob cat guy took his life in his own hands and pushed on the side of the leaning, dump truck to help out the electrical guys.., the huge dump truck was stuck in the Georgia mud up to the rims of the tires and he was wedged between a large tree/brush and an electrical pole which was also leaning dangerously after being hit four times. It gets worse...frustrated and obviously unable to deal with his own mistakes and take responsibility for them, he argued with me that he was just going to dump 20 tons of wet crusher run at/on the electrical pole, which would have caused further damage, get his truck unstuck, and leave; he cussed at me, refused to call his company for help; blamed ME for his bad decisions that got him stuck in the first place ( really? all I did was order the crusher run and show up to give him a check), and he refused to take any responsibility for his bad behavior or his damage to my property. His company ( that he supposedly contracts for ) tried their best to make it right in the end. And the electrical guys were fantastic...fixed the pole/lines, got his huge, leaning dump truck unstuck, and were basically the only calm and intelligent ones there. Be careful in the mud in Georgia, especially since it is raining in Georgia all the time now. This guy made one bad decision after another and it took 6 people from his company, two electricians with a big electrical truck, and two policemen to deal with this guy, his nasty behavior, and the consequences of his bad decisions, So if you have a decent truck driver who delivers and does his job well, tip him at least And don’t ever complain about a decent delivery charge. UNBELIEVABLE.

      I've never been able to figure out why they don't use their roll over covers. Just about every dump truck has one, but I could count the number of times I've seen one in action on one hand. It's not going to be perfect, but surely less stuff would fly out of the truck with a cover on than off, right?

    • @brandonharris9237
      @brandonharris9237 Před 5 lety

      It's a warning for stones or debris the tires may pick up along the road which they are not responsible for. Hence the warning of dont tailgate
