New CV Axle Assembly from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1AAX...
A CV axle has flexible joints. Often, these joints wear out, or seize from contaminants due to the protective boot tearing open. A worn joint is prone to breakage, or other hazards. If your vehicle needs a new CV axle, install a quality TRQ axle that is engineered to your vehicle’s specifications. This video shows you how to install one in your 2003-2013 Toyota Matrix.

It should be noted, the gear oil used in this video is for a matrix with a manual trans. That being said, this video was a LIFE SAVER for me with my 2004 Pontiac Vibe auto and easily saved me $200 in labor costs. Appreciate it!

These videos help a lot. Thanks! Also, wish the fill plug looked like that on my trans. I have the 6 speed and it takes a 10mm hex. 🤢

I have a 2006 Toyota Matrix manual and it's roaring on the driver side front wheel. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet. It roars more turning to the right and is quiet when turning left and is also louder depending on what rpm I'm doing. 2000rpm is the loudest roar and minimizes at higher rpms. Not really speed related it seems. Love your videos. We don't really have a place to work on it so I will need to take it to a shop, however, having an idea what they need to do is helpful so thanks for the educational moment.

Great video, but I've been giving my cv axle "love taps" for 2 hours now and it's still stuck in the transmission. They need to make videos with the mechanic on their back working with 12-18 inches of clearance like the rest of us. Show us how to do it without a professional pneumatic car lift.

Use the prybar or a long flathead screwdriver to wedge it out. I had the same issue with my automatic 04 vibe and had to pry is apart. Since I was already replacing the cv, no harm no foul 👍

Have a question? I have 2003 vibe pretty much same car. Had that bad wheel bearing hub sound so tore it apart and hub is good. The howling scraping noise is still there here the issue is where the axle slides back into the transmission. Is there a bearing inside where the splines slide back into the tranny? Car shifts fine runs great except for this grinding noise.
