Rotting Christ writes about Mythos from all around the world (with a nearly perfect style), while Watain writes exclusively about the Current 218 (Temple of the Black Light / Anti-Cosmic Satanism). In any case, both are MAGNIFICENT bands... ;)

“Underrated” and “widely hated” are not even kind of the same thing. Yea a lot of gen x oldskool black metal elitists rip on them for violating black metal conventions, but the only reason this enrages them is out of jealousy...because they can’t deny that, however Watson creates their sound, it’s a pretty fucking amazing sound. Certainly a lot better than most of them would have the imaginations to come up with. All hate comes from the ego. Specifically, the jealous part of the ego

I've been listening to Black for more than 20 years. Imagine my surprise when I first heard Watain at an extreme metal festival a few weeks ago. It was pure ecstasy. Instantly became one of my favorite Black Metal bands and definitely stole the show at the festival.

They removed my head in Romania a few weeks ago. It was literally in top 5 best live shows I've ever seen. And they didn't even spill blood.
@@eludereluded Seen them twice. The first venue didn't allow pyrotechnics or blood spilling but the second one was at the ice hockey hall where they surely didn't spare any fire or blood.

This song kicks so much ass and I'm so glad I finally checked them out. It's especially funny since as a huge fan of GWAR, I should know better about how 'scary stage shows' aren't always a crutch for impeccable songwriting.

Goebbels would approve of NS promoting bands like Der Stürmer, Burzum, Absurd, Goatmoon, etc, but generally speaking Satanic BM would be seen as "degenerate" or "too extreme" to be compatible with NS ideology, which promoted "pro-life" and "superhuman" ideals. They'd probably call the NS promoting bands "Berzerker Muzik" or some such, as it would seem very heavy for them and invoking the "barbarism in man". Just what I think.

They don’t adhere to a strictly Judeu/Christian interpretation of Satan and other evil spiritual beings from that mythos (Samael). They follow a gnostic version of theistic Satanism. In their eschatology the gods of Chaos win.

No one goes to the Father (eternal life in Heaven) except through Me (Jesus). So no matter what type of Satanism or even a religion that "worships" God.
