No, _school_ didn't _turn him liberal._
Critical thinking opened his eyes to myriad contradictions, fallacies, and lies he'd been told growing up.

Unlikely the relationship will survive in any good form unless they purposely guide it in that direction. One thin that's certain is he's throwing his vote away if he's still banking on Dr. West.

I'm torn by this narrator. He enunciates clearly and his narration doesn't distract from the substance of the article, but his narration is so sterile that it sounds like an AI voice from 10 years in the future after they've gotten all the kinks ironed out.

Consciously or otherwise, we're all "indoctrinated" by our families and the people around us as children. Part of growing up is finding your own path. My mom and I were kind of a grown up version of this story. My parents were politically conservative (in the old school conservative sense), but socially liberal. As an adult, I gradually grew increasingly politically liberal as the Right doubled down on social and Christian conservatism. Meanwhile, my mom became a devoted Fox follower as she aged, swallowing whatever Fox said, hook, line and sinker. In my 50s, I finally told her to please not discuss any political topics with me ever again. I loved her much more than I cared about politics, and I didn't want to spend my 2 visits a year at odds with her. She loved debating with people, so she was not very happy about this, but she honored my request, to the betterment of our time together.

I think there's a strong argument to be made that they're both nuts. I am an erstwhile republican who resigned because of Donald Trump and if I had the power of lightning end I could select the next president, it would be Condoleezza Rice.
