Whether you like Apple or not, you have to admit that Tim is a smart CEO.
This was the best interview I have ever seen. How Tim handled those tough questions was nothing short of admirable. When he asked the audience member the followup question, it broke through what most other interviews do, he engaged with the audience, not only perform for them. As for what Tim said about planning for your successors successor and having these super long term goals, I second that motion! Anyone would be happy to pick up wherever he leaves off.
Tim always on message and so well spoken and articulate.

Tim Cook is the embodiment of apple. That is not a criticism. His is the most concise statement of Apple's goals I have heard. It's kinda scary.
Neither is this criticism, just a simple analysis of Apple's philosophy:
If there is a 'Mommy State' then Apple is the 'Daddy State'. Apple acts as the benevolent father: "I believe I know what is best and I expect you to believe it as well. You are free to do otherwise but... Oh, by the way, if you want to live here, you'll do it my way."
I personally have been trying to cope with this since Apple came into the world (yes, I'm that old) and I've always been uncomfortable with it.

Profound is the impact. Not approach.
It's more than just limiting screen time. It's giving you short and long term data on your time and usage of your entire phone as well as data for individual applications. It allows you greater insight into how you use your phone and how you could moderate your own usage in very specific ways.
Andrew Compton I am not saying it’s not important. All I am saying is - don’t commoditize the usage of the word ‘profound’. The iPhone for instance has had a profound impact on the industry. These are at best ‘sustaining innovations’.
