as a russian, seeing anyone support p*tin, especially when they're not from russia and they have never experienced what it's like to live under his rule makes me incredibly furious. how dare anyone think that he's the "cool" one, the one in the right, make jokes about how great he is when there are literally thousands and millions of people losing their lives right now, *because* of him?? straight up unbelievable to me, super disappointing, i don't think there is any way to come back from something like that

Believe it or not, even in Poland we have politicians so deeply connected to oligarch’s money, they dear to claim that all that happened in Bucha was set up by Ukrainian. But they are idiots who also claim that woman is only good for cooking, sex an giving birth, and she should not be allowed to work or vote.

As a russian, this makes me sick. Living under p*tin’s dictatorship is literal hell. I’m severely depressed and have basically no hope for my future, like I literally accepted that my life is over before it started, I will never be free and actually living life because I can’t escape Russia since I don’t have a lot of money and, well, nobody is waiting for me elsewhere in the world. And even this doesn’t merely compare to what Ukrainians are going through right now, literally losing their lives, homes and loved ones. My relatives lost their home, jobs, all they had, and had to escape their own country, thankfully they are alive and not injured. All this because of P*tin. The fact that somebody can support this and joke about it literally makes me sick to my core. Thanks for speaking about this, I’m glad I never bought anything from ABH even though I’ve always been interested in the brand. Not anymore

I've been so disappointed watching beauty channels I love who claim to care about human rights continue to platform this brand after Anastasia's posts. This is a human rights crisis and she's making jokes on Instagram about it. It reminds me of when Kat Von D was repeatedly shown to have N**i paraphernalia and horrible anti-semitic "jokes" for shades in her brand, but people didn't want to cancel her until she came out as anti-vax. Her anti-vax statements were terrible, but I wanna know why celebrating human rights violations isn't equally worthy of cancellation?

For the same reason Tati Westbrook didn’t oust James Charles about being a ped0 until he signed a deal with sugarbear hair care at Coachella. This individualism mindset is exactly how we got to this point.

I’m Romanian and my name is Anastasia so growing up I felt so represented by the brand. The wild thing about all of this is that Romania is part of the EU. The country suffered deeply when they were a satellite of the Soviet Union. Lime Crime was such an important trend setter. Doe Deere was problematic, but people need to go give her more credit for starting trends. LC was not just one of the first brands (if not the first) to focus on liquid lipsticks, they also started the warm/reddish eyeshadow palette trend with Venus. ABH simply copied LC. Same thing is happening with the current ABH palette, which rips off Venus 2 XL by LC.

I missed this happening because we were all trying to evacuate/find people and organise supplies. It is so terrifying to your friends and family in bulletproof vests and picking up weapons. My mama has dementia and we found her in Romania - Romanian people are good people and not like Anastasia.
This will affect us all for decades - it is devastation of people, of infrastructure, and of crops. It will affect a great many people forever. They bombed memorial of the place where my grandfather and his family's bones probably lay. Whole world says 'never again' but it did and it still is.

I find both to be way too softly pressed, too creamy in texture and the dark shades were too pigmented. Even if someone sells their company to another corporate entity or person, they are STILL benefiting from the company they built. And they are not selling a well established brand for cheap. They are selling brand recognition/ giving the people what they want in their removal of said individual. If a brand owner sells due to a loss of faith in their character as so deemed by the public, best believe they are still making bank, they are still benefiting . And likely the buyer and their team at the helm, are making said purchase, knowing that people will continue on with a brand they recognize and adore. As long as those deemed "Problematic" step down/ sell their biz. Etc. My point is and I have said this before, even though it's true we vote with our dollars and hold sway that way with the World 🌎 by our spending, we will never know the inner workings of the mind or who those people running a biz are in every single purchase we make! I have joked before for all we know another brand could be owned by a dexter type 😂 😱 Hope not but it's just an example. I am also not a fan of cancel culture and still use the products I own even if people suddenly find a reason to hate whomever is at the helm of a specific brand. Now I am completely against War. It's atrocious what's going on. But just was going on a long rant making points that YES those people STILL benefit A LOT. I just buy what I want from whatever brand I want. I think 🤔 it must take up alot of energy to constantly be canceling brands or people after researching the owners personal lives and feeds. I do understand why people want to use the info they do have and make an informed choice. Don't support Putin at all BTW. But all I am saying is, these people still benefit and I am against cancel culture in general. I get why some people stop buying certain peoples brands. But just imagine if you had to go through all the things a person had ever done in their lives, before making a purchase from a company or store they owned, with EVERY item you ever bought? 🤔 You would basically need something like a social credit score put in place. Then where does the judgement of brands stop? Just random food for thought. Super long comment 😂 Its just weird.. nowadays brands and companies owners are so heavily scrutinized, whereas with most other companies or years ago people just based their purchases on what was being sold and the products quality 🤔 Things have certainly changed with social media and peoples accessibility to follow brand owners or CEO's. Oh I am in Canada 🇨🇦 I smoked a bowl before this comment 😂 So, my apologies for any grammar issues and prattling on so long 😂

I'm really disappointed about everything going on tho. For some reason there's lots of Romanians who openly support putin. Even ppl in my life, which is so sad if u think abt how Romania also had a bad dictator not too long ago. Which is the reason why so many Romanians left the country back then :/ it's also sad to hear how hateful they talk abt Ukrainians even tho they're so close to each other and there are even Ukrainian/Romanian minority groups in both countries.

There are some good Soft Glam dupes now. Affordable eyeshadow formulas have came a long way. The color story really isn't that unique either, I wouldn't be surprised if you already have most of the shades in your collection already just maybe not all in one palette together... Honestly, my Mom was a chemist for Estee Lauder and all of their brands including MAC, Clinique and Bobbi Brown and since I discovered Colourpop, BH cosmetics, ELF, Profusion, Milani and NYX I haven't cared that much for name brand makeup and these affordable brands are all cruelty free too. Colourpop, BH Cosmetics and Profusion really do have eyeshadow formulas that are just as good if not better than MAC and yes, even Anastasia. I haven't really touched my Anastasia or MAC palettes since I found Colourpop, BH and Profusion eyeshadows.
I also really liked Wet N Wild's eyeshadow formula and they had a Soft Glam dupe but I am not sure if WNW is cruelty free anymore bc just like Physicians Formula they supposedly started selling in mainland China and lied about it, don't know if they're still certified cruelty free by leaping bunny but I know some brands who sell in mainland China try to consider themselves cruelty free bc they personally do not test products on animals themselves but when a foreign country sells makeup to mainland China then their products are subject to animal testing so most people don't consider that to be cruelty free bc the brand knows animal testing will be done on their products there and if they actually cared about being cruelty free then they wouldn't sell products where animal testing is done

To me, ABH singles have never been really big. MAC singles though... THEY started the trend ! And then when Makeup Geek came on the scene everyone could finally have singles palettes without ruining themselves. Then, Jaclyn talked about Morphe singles ! To me just a few of the ABH singles sought for, not every single one, people weren't crazy about their singles as they were for other brands. In my opinion. But when ABH release the Modern Renaissance, it was Game Over for the single eyeshadows for a loooong time.

As a romanian, don't take her private instagram too serious, she was liking the posts of a local influencer, and it really is not that deep, she isn't supporting him in any way, she is just a regular romanian, enjoying the humor, while our entire country is collapsing due to the war. Being neighbours to Ukraine affected us in such way that we might not recover for the following 10-15 years, the westerns have it easy. With this being said, please stop thinking she is such an awful person for doing a regular person's stuff, enjoying local humor. She has been donating to local organisations in here and helping the country quite a lot. She does not owe you an explication for simple comedy.

Whenever she comes to Ro, she goes on a particular TV station that is pretty much the equivalent of Fox News (lies on top of lies, they're not pro EU). Her Romanian public figure friends are part of/or an extension of this TV Station (Dana Budeanu, who is mentioned in that screenshot, is very controversial). Since she hasn't lived in Ro in a long time, she is pretty naïve and has no idea who she let's herself be influenced by. She comes across as clueless.

I had no idea about this, and am profoundly regretting having bought the Nouveau palette recently (after years of not buying anything from them just because nothing really excited me). I’m flabbergasted on why this isn’t more reported, and how influencers, who should know a bit better the ins and outs and gossips and dramas of the industry, stay silent about this. I’m still willing to give the benefit of the doubt, of course, because I consume loads of makeup content and this completely flew under my radar, so it could have happened to more people. I haven’t noticed any comments warning about this or anything… the same as with Make Up Revolution’s CEO being exposed as a r*cist…
Ugh, is it so hard to be a human with a brand, money and privilege and keeping your empathy intact?

This woman (ABH) is craycray and it is showing and I was wondering why no one is talking about it.

She actually didn’t create the golden ratio for brows. It’s been around since the 30’s and there’s vintage videos for it from the fifties and sixties.

Benefit makes a great eyeliner and I exclusively use their bronzer, they’ve actually branched out quite nicely!
