Chinatown in Cambodia or Khmer is owned by Chinese people. As for Chinatown in Thailand, it belongs to Thai-Chinese people who have been living in Thailand for a long time. and are considered Thai people but still preserve Chinese culture

It what Thai dont understand because Thai never been in to war, It is a town that is populated by Chinese people. Before war there were Chinese town in Cambodia, after the civil war, Cambodia did not have any segregated areas based on ethnicity, and the people coexisted peacefully. However, as more Chinese immigrants arrived in Cambodia, some parts of the country became predominantly Chinese.

@@SteppeNomad585 It's very different. Chinese people in Thailand gradually stop speaking Chinese in only two or three generations down. I doubt that's the case with Cambodia. They embraced Thailand as their new home. Look in Cambodia like an invasion.

I have been to many Chinatowns across the world. Some are better than others. These Chinatowns do add flavor to the hosting societies. Tourists love to visit these towns. It’s all about finding a balance between the hosting society and the Chinatown or any other cultural towns. There are many other towns that are based on ethnicity or culture. There are Khmertowns in several countries. There are Italian, Indian, Greek and other ethnic towns all over the world too. I think it would be cool to have a Latintown, Africantown, Filipinotown and others in Kampuchea! Think of all the variety of foods and music! Let’s bring down the fears and racism.

As a Kun Khmer it’s very easy to recognized who is Khmer blood related or not it can be distinguished by the true accents . Chinese speak Khmer can be heard and sound the broken tonality of the accent and the same as for Vietnamese spoken in Khmer language . I’m not surprise China it’s all over the globe even into the coldest territories of Alaska theirs is Chinese inhabitants . Nearly 80% Chinese occupied economics in Thailand country .
