I'm a habitual Labour voter in a constituency where Labour always win, so I've leant my vote to the Greens to increase their vote share and send a message re climate and Gaza
The thing that bothers me most about this election is that voters now understand our electoral system and discuss how to vote in it, but neither of the big two parties are talking about replacing the current system for a fairer one.
I'm 68. Yeah, sure, if it makes you feel good. I voted in 2019 - Labour btw. Unless we get a 'real' electoral system, like proportional representation, I'm not voting again. It just makes them feel important and special.
Environment is the most important issue for me. Nothing else matters if the planet isn’t fit for habitation. Lib Dem are the only ones who can beat the tories in my constituency so I’ve voted for them. But I hope we end up with an overall Parliament that will vote for lots of green policies 💚💚💚
Honestly the Lib Dems so far are looking to be far more left wing than labour. Even halfway through the video we see the Greenpiece scores and they get a 31.5/40 whilst labour got a 20.5. Greens ofc got 39.

Whilst I agree, the problem is that changing the rules needs political power, and getting that needs winning an election. And people who win an election tend to think the system delivered a perfectly fair and sensible result (it picked THEM) after all. I'd wholeheartedly support an electoral review and reform but that's only one of many issues and right now getting the Conservatives out is my main priority.
I find it funny how they was like you can vote for all these parties and labels what they want for the environment and then we get to the Tories and just politely says they are crap
Peter Capaldi's comments do not square with the actual Greenpeace conclusions. He says that Labour's plans are powerful and "they outflank the Libdems". Greenpeace's scores were Green Party 39/40, LibDem 32, Labour 20 and Tory 5. Why such a pro-Labour bias when they only manage half marks on the environment, way behind the LibDems?
I would maybe say it’s because Labour has a much better chance of winning instead of the Green Party? I‘m not that familiar with British party politics and how they work within elections though as I am German, not British.
The Labour manifesto contains many green policies and, as their candidates are most likely to beat the tories in most constituencies, they're probably the best choice for your tactical vote. The objective MUST be to #GTTO
Very sensible advice. And yes, you need to be practical. Having bold sweeping plans is great but like it or not, unless you can get enough seats to influence decisions made in the commons, it doesn’t actually matter. But at the same time, make sure that manifesto pledges that MATTER to you are something yiu hold your MP to account over.
I really want to protect our natural environment, and ensure we have the energy we need to power our country long into the future. We cannot do both in any meaningful way, without significant investment into nuclear power (especially small modular reactors). Solar and wind power require colossal mines, and long, complex, transnational logistical routes to make and bring the panels and wind turbines. The UK does not have enough useable daylight for the majority of the year, and turbines alone cannot provide the grid with enough reliable energy. We need to invest in homegrown technologies that can provide clean energy; in the interim, we need to invest in nuclear power, and in building safe nuclear waste repositories, like those in Scandinavia.
We need something similar to "population maters" Less people=less pollution. If we could get negative population growth like is expected in Japan SK and other places we benefit. Foreign aid should be more focused on contraception. I think it's possible to work towards such a goal
The change to a green world won’t be comfortable for the west, but our comfort isn’t important when faced with mass starvation for people living close to the equator due to drought and famine.
@simonengland6448 and this is why the political spectrum is so divided. You have people that care about others, and people who literally can't comprehend caring about others to the extent that they think people must be lying about caring

The UK is historically both capitalist and socialist. Any other view is ignorance. What we can say is the current state of our energy is dangerously exploitative and it impacts our healthcare system, our economy AND the environment. Letting international companies profit from our abusively high gas bills needs to end. Nationalize it or put limits in place I don't care. It just needs to happen. We need more policy that is more common sense and less pandering to either left or right. The media's fearmongering of LGBTQ or migrants has to end because it distracts people from the real offenders when it comes to who is really stealing from the working class. It's not the gay person or the foreigner looking for a better life. If it were about migrants then the tories would have done something about it instead of doing nothing and keeping them around to scape goat their own crimes.
