I relate to Junny about getting confused with other parents' age because I'm a late child and I have a big age gap with my sister to the point where strangers were convinced that she's a young mom
Yeah, I get you. One of my best friends also has a huge age gap to her older brother ( I think 14 years or so) and when they were a bit younger (she was in her late teens/early 20s, he was early to mid 30s) they actually got confused as a couple which must have been so weird.
BM is such a good talker, it's just easy listening to him. i'm glad he came back as a guest and i hope he'll be in more episodes in the future 😇

The old adage goes, "Tell me who your friends are and I tell you who you are." No one has to impress others just to make friends all the time. That's the kind of friendship that either has to be valued as materialistic or shallow since one would lie in order to be looked up to as a pal. If you can be silly in a good way with at least 1 person without any judgment, just good fun for both of you, then you can be friends. No one has to build a relationship founded on deception.

BM's lost so much weight, he looks like a different person! It was good to have him back though. And then we have the "stiff" jokes. Ashley, the scary leader comes out! And BM and Ash bring the truth out about Kpop managers.

I've been marathoning the episodes of "Get Real" lately and it's really awesome how you all (the hosts and the guests) talk about everything and in such a free way that makes me relate to certain situations. I feel like it would had helped me a lot through this pandemic if I had stopped to listen the podcast before, but things are still kinda crazy and weird, and because of that, I think I started to listen to it in the right moment. I've been dealing with some questions and all these conversations are really helping me to see things with other eyes and try to find solutions instead of having breakdowns. So thanks to all of you for making this amazing content. Stay safe!

I just want to give a little advice to anyone who has lied to friends before because I felt that the advice in this podcast was really poorly expanded on. I went back to college when I was 24 after some really difficult experiences during my teens and early 20s. When I first went back, I lied about my age to everyone. Eventually though, I made friends and had a crush on someone who wanted to take me out on a date. I felt so stressed out that they didn’t know my real age that I turned him and my friends down whenever they wanted to hang out outside of school. Eventually my crush asked why I didn’t want to go out with him when it seemed like I really liked him. I asked him to go on a walk with me, during which I confessed that I had lied to him because I was ashamed of my age. To my surprise, he really respected that I owned up to it and told him the truth. From that point forward, I admitted my lie to all my friends one by one. Almost everyone reacted positively, understood my reasons, and respected that I told them the truth about my lie. Some people, however, didn’t look at me the same and our friendships fizzled out. Honestly though, sometimes we have to face consequences for our actions and recognize that that’s what can happen so we don’t do it again. Owning up to lying is difficult, and it’s a reminder not to do it again. After I told them the truth, though, I no longer felt guilty, and I felt could be my true self, could go out with friends, and have genuine friendships. He and I ended up dating for a while, and I was always honest with everyone else who was interested in me thereafter. One guy wasn’t interested when I told him my true age, while another girl still was because she loved my character and personality. If I could give advice to anyone who’s lied to their friends, I would say to own up to it as soon as possible when you get the chance. Most people respond really well when you take responsibility for your lies, explain why you did it, apologize, and tell them that you felt guilty, value their friendship, and will always be honest from that point on. If you lied when you were a kid or years earlier, tell them you were young but as an adult you want to take responsibility and have a genuine friendships. Be ready for any consequences but recognize that you’ll be free from the guilt and can be your true self. Anyway, I just wanted to put this out there for anyone who needs to hear it. 🤍
Yes! Good for you. Sometimes it’s hard to know what to say when you’re younger and the opportunity gets lost….be cautious to protect yourself and own up to it …. You will hopefully know who is genuine and who isn’t worth keeping friends with.
