As great as this game is, I can't help but feel the ability to have 4 people playing simultaneously kind of breaks things. Even if you do multiply the amount of enemies, they're still trying to fight the equivalent of two enraged octopuses on PCP.
@@arronmunroe I think it's best to play these old games with people beside you though. If the person is far away and you don't really know them then it's just like playing with an NPC, although I understand you're just trying to come up with the next best solution in the absence of players right beside you.
Good thing you can’t hurt each other cause it’s wild with so many hero’s on the screen. I remember on the original my brother and I would agree about hitting each other and we have to pick a side to fight.
In classic mode, it actually is possible to hit the other players and there is also less screen space because it's not widescreen. I personally don't like friendly fire in general, but it's especially bad when it involves more than 2 players. The arcade game D.D. Crew has some big problems because of that.
Interesting, MrMario checked the bottom left corner as if he knows there is a hidden 1up that early there at stage 1, while GalaxiaShadow leads the initiative with dropkicking 3 Galsias. And then there's some attack button mashing at random times, as well.

I believe you get more bad guys if you play on mega mania difficulty, but the problem with that is you also get faster enemies and bosses with much bigger life bars. Personally, I'd like to see something closer to the standard difficulty, but with more bad guys.

One thing I don't like about it is how the extra long life bars can slow things down a bit, since having 4 players doesn't always make it faster to take down certain bosses or bad guys. And how did Sega get away with a sound effect from Pac-Man when he eats a fruit??

It's been a while since I played this, but what exactly are you trying to save? I know that if someone drops in the middle of a game, it is possible to recover if they reconnect right away.

I don't dislike Streets of Rage 4, but the online here makes SoR4 look bad in comparison, and that game is limited to only 2p online.

This version of the game has mania plus, which is harder than regular mania. It is something I plan to get around to someday.

This game has a regular online mode. You can also record a replay of the game, so there's no lag in the video, which is what I did.
4 player Mania Mode might be a blast.

I wish someone could get sega to give us the studio non compressed sound vocals for sor2 and sor3. Sega cd has studio vocals for sor1.

Touch and hold a clip to pin it. Unpinned clips will be deleted after 1 hour.
