    There's a really powerful Dango skill in Sunbreak called Dango Driver. You unlock it by going on a quest to fight two Blood-Orange Bishaten.
    What it does is it increases the percentage of red health you retain when you take damage. And if you upgrade this to level 4 via the hopping skewers then you now retain ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of damage you take turning into red health... It's insane. Even level 3, 2, or even just level 1 also make a big difference if you'd prefer another skill to be your level 4.
    Now you can just wait to regen it all, maybe take an immunizer or slot in Recovery Speed to boost the speed you regen, or just eat a gourmet fish which instantly heals all your red health (which with Level 4 Dango Driver is now your entire health bar).

    2.) As soon as you can face Lunagaron, fight it, and upgrade your Garngolm weapon. You need 10 points of Garangolm materials, a Large Beast Gem, and some Lunagaron spoils. One of the one notch Decoration slots becomes a two notch, plus the Attack buff.

    1) Use the Felvine! It’s a darn good buff to the lil murder machines.
    2) Build a loadout for each of your guns, bring only the ammo you are most likely to use so you can flip though the wheel faster, and when using Sticky or Slice bring the materials to craft more ammo on the fly.
    3) Setup your hot wheel to craft ammo at the flick of a button instead of going into the menu. 9 is way too few Sticky 3s for a fight, but if you bring the materials you can actually pump out like 69 before having to restock at the tent, without and spare shot procs!

    With loadouts it is better to have a main one but because you have so many slots for loadouts having some tailored for specific monster or weapon types is a better idea. Also Dung Bombs are an amazing tool to use add to most loadouts whenever you want to avoid getting double-teamed by monsters.

    Since you just learned about trap efficiency, allow me to pass on this pro strat.
    For monsters like narga or rajang that can only be caught in pitfalls while enraged, theres actually a way to maximize trap time. Normally a monster thats enraged escapes traps faster, but on monsters that can only be trapped during rage makes this a bit of a problem as you cant use it at any other time. But there is an exploit. If you time things perfectly (you'll have to figure it out) you can catch the monster on the last second of its rage state so it will be in the trap as it calms down letting it stay trapped longer. (as a bonus add stun and paralysisi at the last second before it gets out to go even longer)
    This was an old strategy back in the older titles and is probably still applicable here too.
    Thought I share that veterans strat to anyone that has never thought to try it.

    Not running away from monsters is actually a really good DPS increase, especially in team hunts -that not enough people are talking about.
    If you run away too much, the monsters will move all around the place, making your friends chase them all over the place, instead of hitting them.
    So yeah, if you need to heal or whatever, move AROUND them. Not away from them.

    In a way I feel this video explains the training wheels on the bike, rather than teaching to become a "better hunter". A few thoughts:
    - Ideally you should be using fewer defense-focused skills as you improve.
    - If you are going to use defensive skills to avoid outright failing a quest, start with Fortify. It's the top offense and defense skill in the game if you're getting carted.
    - "Where are you safe?" depends on the monster and can't be reduced to a far/close rule. If we need a simplified rule, try to be behind the shoulder.
    - Monster difficulty is often relative to the weapon used to take it on. Learning a second or third weapon will give you more options than new players will have access to. When you can start asking "what's the best weapon for this fight?" instead of "how do I kill the monster with the one weapon I can use?", you will be well on your way to becoming a "better hunter".
    - The game does little to explain concepts like EFR, element damage and weak points. Learn these concepts.
    - When you know the monster's move set and are comfortable with the fight, you should only really need enough armor to avoid being one-shotted. Work toward this as a good sign of being better at hunting.

    Don't waste your rampage slot and an armor skill if you want fast spiribirds. Just use hopping skewers and the dango that boosts spiribirds. It doubles every spiribird you pick up, meaning you can easily max out just heading to the monster.

    I know this is a sixth month old video, but regarding route planning: If you've brought a Palamute you can use the sniff out skill they made for it to tag any of the endemic life you can use. Then they'll just be displayed on your map without having to open the menus. Also, since you can use items while on your Palamute, you can hop onto it to heal or sharpen while moving faster.

  • @grayden4138
    @grayden4138 Před 2 lety

    To add to the Spiribirds tip: If you can't get the skill, learn where Spiribirds are on the map and create a route to take at the beginning of a hunt to collect some, not all. I can collect to max out HP and Stamina, if necessary, in each zone save the two new zones in Sunbreak (because they are so spread out and in random spots) in under 5 min leaving me 45 to complete the hunt.

  • @Buphido
    @Buphido Před 2 lety

    Yes, being close to the monster while healing can be safer. But quite often, when you really need to heal you are in a chaotic situation. The monster might be mid combo, your item wheel might be on a different item which means you'd have to scroll for a while to reach your potions or your camera might be oriented poorly in a way that isn't necessarily fixed by retargeting and you just need to heal without having a clear picture of the situation. In those cases, gaining some distance is extremely useful because seeing a wider angle of the fight allows you to realign your position, ready your potions and dodge when necessary.

    While staying close to the monster while taking a pot can be safer, I'd still advise to, when in doubt, mount your palemute and run away to heal. There's monsters that can obliterate you - specially when enraged - if you stay running at a leasurely pace while chugging a pot. Zinogre, for example, or Rajang. They do have long distance attacks, but they have tells and are more or less easy to avoid; but they have A LOT of melee jukes and jabs that will get you killed while you're trying to get healed. Doing that near an enraged apex zinogre is basically suicide. Also, in MP, they are FAR more active and move much more, meaning you can get hit easily.
    Other than that, solid tips.

    @Jasondawn999 Před rokem

    I know it is an old video, but why is no one talking about having both demondrug and mega demondrug, or armorskin and mega armorskin in your loadout? They do not stack, and doing so in the loadout effectively wastes 2 slots in your limited item pouch. If anything, use those 2 slots for materials to craft more traps, so that in case you still want to capture the monster after using the trap to create dps window, you can still do so without having to go back to camp.
    Also, the tip about healing near the monster is sort of a bad advice. Monsters have different movesets depending on if you are near or far away (which is why you don't see monsters using melee attack when you are far away). If you stand near them, instead of doing the projectiles, they may just swipe at you, and if you are already low on health, that is just asking for cart. When you are far away, monsters projectiles are mostly travelling in a straight line and do not track, meaning dodging them is not that hard. Think Mangamalo's tail orbs or Nargacuga's tail spikes, all you need to do is walk sideways and those won't hit you. You don't even need to cancel the heal with a roll. For something faster like Rajang's beam, just roll to the side. If anything, the tip should be "keep your eye on the monster when you heal", since one of the most common reason for newbies to cart is that they are fiddling with the item bar looking for the potion and not paying attention to the monster preparing a charge or an attack.
