- Have you seen this? Kinsley Murray went viral this week for her rendition of the national anthem that she sang at the Indiana Pacers game. The video, posted by on the Pacers TikTok has been seen almost 22 million times.
However, this is not the first time that Kinsley has gone viral for one of her singing performances. In 2021, she sang the national anthem before a Gonzaga women's basketball game. That video quickly garnered over a million views on TikTok.

I'm a vocal coach, music teacher and musician. I have NEVER lied to any of my students about their level of ability. If they are not good, I helped them to get better and better. I would NEVER allow any of my students to get on a national stage singing (or playing) at her level of ability. This is not right. Both the parents and the vocal coach/teacher (if she has one) should know better and, that coach needs to be fired.

Oh, do I have some bad news for you then my friend there’s one from a couple days ago and now she’s eight years old and she still doing this eight years old still doing this and no it’s not cute. It’s gotten progressively worse and it’s gonna get progressively worse the older she gets because for whatever reason her dad doesn’t wanna tell her the truth, and then he gets angry at people such as yourself, myself, and other sensible people who do tell her the truth via comment sections.

No can I do runs no can I belt no but I can thank the good Lord carry tune stay on key and stay on pitch now all that being said I would never and I mean never do it. This kid is doing even when I was a child. I never would’ve done that and I’m 30 years old I’m not a professional singer and I’m I’m not gonna pretend that I am OK. I just sing for fun but even I know the basics and this is just awful and again if I sound like a diva I apologize.

There is no way it’s just her dad. Her mother died a couple years ago and apparently he’s been doing this since she was four if not younger why I don’t know because as we can hear the performance is only get worse and worse and worse and worse there’s one from a couple days ago now that she’s eight years old and holy hell it’s awful.

I taught music for 41 years. This is terrible. This is what happens when you don’t tell kids they are not good at something. She is heading for a big let down. It’s almost child abuse.
so kids are just naturally good at most things lol? doesn’t it take practice and commitment? I quit music (instrument) because of music teachers like you, at an elementary age. I didn’t have outside practice, was all, or support other than a discouraging teacher. It sounds like she doesn’t have a vocal instructor, but she has a nice voice she is going to damage if she keeps this up.

That is what I was thinking. I dont mean it in a bad way. Because I praise her for being confident, and proud to sing it, but it isnt pleasant to the ears on a musical level. But as she gets older, maybe her voice will become more stable and also maybe she wont try to sing it like some hip hop soul type thing.

i checked her singing video when she was 5,6,7,8yr old. She should have improved her voice more. She likes belting and runs that’s ok but needs a vocal coach….

I saw it live at the UD Game. It is not the kids fault. She is awesome to be able to get in front of a large crowd and sing at her age. Unfortunately, it was an embarrassing performance of the National Anthem. Why someone at UD thought this was a good idea to bring her in is beyond me. You didn't know whether to laugh how awful it was or cry for the embarrassing rendition.
