El Monasterio de San Lorenzo de El Escorial fue promovido por Felipe II, entre otras razones, para conmemorar su victoria en la batalla de San Quintín, el 10 de agosto de 1557, festividad de San Lorenzo. Esta batalla marcó el inicio del proceso de planificación que culminó con la colocación de la primera piedra el 23 de abril de 1563, bajo la dirección de Juan Bautista de Toledo. Le sucedió tras su muerte, en 1567, el italiano Giovanni Battista Castello El Bergamasco y, posteriormente, su discípulo Juan de Herrera. La última piedra se puso 21 años después, el 13 de septiembre de 1584.
El edificio surge por la necesidad de crear un monasterio que asegurase el culto en torno a un panteón familiar de nueva creación, para así poder dar cumplimiento al último testamento de Carlos V de 1558. El Emperador quiso enterrarse con su esposa Isabel de Portugal y con su nueva dinastía alejado de los
habituales lugares de entierro de los Trastamara.
The Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial was promoted by Felipe II, among other reasons, to commemorate his victory in the battle of San Quentin, August 10, 1557, San Lorenzo festival. This battle marked the beginning of the planning process that culminated in the laying of the first stone on April 23, 1563, under the leadership of Juan Bautista de Toledo. The building arises from the need to create a monastery to ensure worship around a newly created family pantheon, in order to comply with the last testament of Carlos V of 1558. A nice and interesting video. I see that years ago if they let photograph, but not now. It is more in the gardens that I was prohibited from using the tripod !! Thus, they sell more DVDs, s and postcards. Thanks for showing me your video. Greetings.

Hace un día que vine de visitar esta obra maestra del arte universal Y paseando por la explanada principal, me tropecé con un pedacito de granito,desprendido de una de las losas que cubren el suleo. Es de unos 6cm de largo y lo pienso guardar toda la vida como si fuera una reliquia.Esto es lo que siento por El Escorial.

Has conseguido una edición fabulosa, una música muy acertada. Se nota que te has tomado tu tiempo para elegir encuadres y perspectivas.
La cámara tiene una calidad brutal.

Muchas gracias Javier !! El vídeo me ha llevado bastante tiempo. Está grabado en dos días distintos (uno estaba cerrado) y luego buscar la música , enfín, muchas horas. Pero aunque no está lo bién que yo quisiera , voy aprendiendo. Estuve bastante tiempo mirando cámaras y de las compactas, esta era la 2ª. Tiene un sensor de una pulgada y un zoom x10. La pena es que en 4k el maximo angular es un 37 , pero me apaño. Ahora lo que necesito es que más gente lo vea. Por cierto gracias por insertar el vídeo de Barrancas de Burujón en Wikiloc, porque tiene muchas visitas !! Vaya rollo que te he contado !!. Un saludo y muchas, muchas gracias por tu apoyo.
