Donald Trump is a CROOK! Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian, hosts of The Young Turks, break it down.
    Read more here:
    www.cnbc.com/2...
"New York state tax officials are investigating allegations detailed in an exhaustive New York Times investigation into Donald Trump and his family's business dealings.
The Times reported on Tuesday that Trump and his family committed "instances of outright fraud" in order to transfer millions of dollars from the real estate empire of the president's father, Fred Trump, to his children without paying the appropriate taxes.
"The Tax Department is reviewing the allegations in the NYT article and is vigorously pursuing all appropriate avenues of investigation," a spokesman from the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance said in an email to CNBC.
Representatives from the White House and the Trump Organization did not return requests for comment.
In a statement to the Times, Trump lawyer Charles Harder denied any allegations of fraud and tax evasion, saying "the facts upon which The Times bases its allegations are extremely inaccurate."

I remember when Trump came onto the national scene in the 80's. I even asked for, and received, The Art of the Deal as a gift for my 14th birthday. There was some information in there that I wasn't as likely to get elsewhere as a 14 yo in the pre-internet age, but his ego didn't seem too outrageous to me; I thought that was how successful adults acted. I revisited the book over the years as my opinion of Trump and my worldview evolved. It was always strange to me that he made such scant mention of his father's fortune.
I definitely couldn't stand Trump as I got older, but I thought that he must have at least expanded on his inherited wealth. I always thought that he didn't belong on The Apprentice, but I thought that he was at least successful in his own right as a real estate developer. I didn't actually realize what a yuuge liar he was until he was doing his birther schtick wherein he claimed that he had private investigators in Hawaii looking for Obama's birth certificate and "They couldn't believe what they were finding" yet he never revealed anything.
I think most people are honest to some degree and it's hard for us to believe that someone would lie about eveything. That's how he duped almost everyone at one point or another.

One last comment from me: my father was an orphan, a ward of the state, from infancy to adulthood. His father died in WWI, his mother died from Spanish Influenza. His childhood was during the Great Depression. He had to work on a farm starting from age six "to earn his keep" as he used to say. Work in exchange for food and shelter. Clothing was provided through donations. Most shoes, if he had any, did not fit properly as the appearance of his feet was testament to that. Schooling came via catholic nuns. And then he went off to fight his way across Europe and N. Africa in WWII; Asia in the Korean War. My oldest brother by dad's first wife served in Vietnam. My family gave to Iraq and Afghanistan.
My mother was age three when WWII started in Europe. She was one of fourteen children as there was no birth control. She and her siblings, too, worked as farm hands alongside their mother (often pregnant) in exchange for food such as potatoes, flour or milk. Often, the children worked in exchange for one meal per day. There was no schooling as the teachers were drafted into the army one by one. A war wants food for soldiers, resources for arms and machinery. People and children are secondary considerations. Soon Europe was in ashes and rubble; people and children surviving day by day. Or not.
My parents built a life and provided for my siblings and myself through hard work. My mother made all of our clothes when I was growing up. All of them. From knitting socks and sweaters to sewing shirts, slacks, skirts, dresses, etc. from repurposed fabrics. One coat for me was made from a red wool blanket, a scrap of black velvet provided the material for the coat's collar. We were never rich but always fed and clothed.
I find Trump and his ilk disgusting. The greed and lack of shame is disgusting. Filthy swine, the entire tribe on that hill. Bowing to the lobbyists and to the corporatists' greed and to line their own pockets at the expense of the people. ....and yet, looking at the crowds attending his rallies, apparently, the "people" think he is great.... Fools.

I just can't process the rage at this point. My mom died about a month ago, and my sister and I are now trying to negotiate with Medicaid to keep her 20-year-old trailer, maybe even for myself and 12-year-old daughter to live in. This Trump inheritance story couldn't have come at a more nauseating time for me. And to think he not only lied to the public to seem like a savvy business guy, not only did he evade taxes on it, he used the lie to raise rent on poor tenents. I....just....can't even.

  • @gmacka6333
    @gmacka6333 Před 5 lety +12

I screwed up on my taxes once, I was forced to pay back the government, somewhere in the range of about $1500, I think it was. At the time, as I was young, I couldn't afford to pay that amount, plus what they deemed to be an appropriate fine that was levies on top of the original amount.
As a little time passes, I still couldn't afford to pay, and this being the tax office, I was dealing with this very hard assed lady, who did not like me and did not mess around, she lectured me about this mess being my fault and on top of the original amount plus the fine, (which I might add, damn near doubled the payment) after I couldn't pay on time, again let me add that she would not accept payments. I was again fined another huge amount for missing the deadline.
I can't remember the final amount, but after hiring a tax lawyer, I did manage to work out a payment plan but at that time the original amount had more that tripled.
I would hate to see the fine today for dodging the tax man in the tune of $200 million plus. Plus fines and late payments accumulated over years.
I hope he actually gets nailed with this and fined in the multiples of billions.
No wonder he hid his taxes.

Still wondering why your neighborhood still has so many potholes? corporate politicians. Your taxes don't cover the cost of the actual damage, so it's spread out very thin.
