You are such a nice guy, so chill and man audio and camera is so crisp , :) love the video and Bike review.
Yamaha does make a S-Spec bike. It's the SCR-950. Same engine. Basically an S-Spec. Also at 7:01 those bars were wobbling which you should of noted that the tires that come with the bike are bad and make the bike go into a death wobble when you release them on the move.
the best sportster you'll ever own
Yo Sean, or Shawn, just wanted to say that I watch all of your videos and you carry yourself very well brother. Excellent presentation and clear, precise grammar (very important to me, and sadly, a disappearing skill). Anyway, well done bro. Much love from Texas!!!
As always great vid and review. I've got the standard Bolt -2014 and am steadily adding mods - they make em, we make em ours 😎
Great video, I bought one of these 2015 C-Specs after watching your video and I am loving it! It’s indeed one of a kind motorcycle that not too many people know about. Thanks Shawn, greetings from Ontario, Canada!
I rewatched this video because of the current Bolt C Spec listed on the site, which I love the look of. Anyway, I appreciate how Sean “got up to the speed limit” multiple times on this video. I’m thankful for how the digital speedometer reads so clearly. 🤣
Yamaha already makes a Bolt scrambler, it's called the SCR950.
Yeah and it's a terrible motorcycle. Looks amazing but just isnt good enough at anything to justify existing.
KyleP133 Its amazing & i love the upright position on it. On paper its meh but its so much fun you’d have to experience it
@@KyleP133 You guys know its the same bike yeah? One was made to replace the other.
I am with you on the helmet thing. I am a survivor that would have been decapitated if I would have been wearing anything other than a full-face helmet with great neck protection. Completely removed the steel triangle mirror bracket from a 1971 Ford pickup with my face before flying over the cab and face planting the pavement. I hit him at 50 m.p.h. and woke up 3 weeks later in a hospital bed. I don't care how stupid Imay look on a motorcycle, I will always go for protection over looks any day!
I was told by an ambulance medical guy that if I would have been wearing a helmet, I would have broken my neck. I happened to take off the helmet and attach it to the bike a mile or so before the accident. I'm not saying that helmets are not safe. I'm just sayin'. Maybe it should be left for the rider to decide.
i have a 2014 Bolt (see my walkaround vid) - That deathwobble is related to the steering bearings. All Balls makes tapered bearings that completely change that. Cheap fix for a glaring problem.
His level of chill with that mail man was the most wholesome thing I have ever seen.
Does the C spec have different footpeg locations that the regular Bolt or Bolt R spec? I'm looking to buy one in the near further, and I'm trying to learn as much about them as I can. The only thing that bothers me is that it has a small gas tank, and that limits range to about 150 miles. That's great for commuting, but I'd like to make a run or two with friends. The tank is 3.4 gallons and mileage is 50 mpg or so.
What’s with the wheel wobble at low speed? Did you hit something in the road? That’s a nice looking bike
My son has this bike but I ride it more than him LOL. It truly is a awesome motorcycle. 👍
@@kencohagen4967 According to some forums I read and personal experiences I found that the death wobble is caused from something with the bearings they used in the front ends. I myself have never experienced it on my _'15 Bolt R-Spec, but my brother's Bolt_ *(A '15 C-Spec)* does it when approaching 80mph and again when getting closer to 100mph.
@@kencohagen4967 if you'd like to see the bikes you can click my profile picture and see them, their my cover photo.
Crazy that you called the scrambler version of this bike 4 years ago!!!! They made it and it is a beauty. Can’t doubt your eye Sean.
How would you compare it to the thruxton? I'm thinking about buying one of them...
Are you able to get a different seat to make it into a normal cruiser?
I like the power characteristics of cruiser engines but I prefer the ergonomics of standard/naked bikes & this bike is about perfect. Looks good too.
U have a good positive attitude thats great love ur videos
For my European brothers this bike is called the XV950. The C-Spec is basically the XV950 Racer. You're welcome. Anyway I think I'll be settling for this bike over the Street Twin, it performs just as well and has similar nimblness but is cheaper. Plus its Japanese so I know I can depend on it. I'm hoping to pick one up in June!
I have the all matte grey 2014 r-spec and it has the same wobble when i let go of the bars.
The Bolt already makes a scrambler. The Yamaha SCR 950. Same engine. Test ride it please.
I love the color of that bike.
I have the c spec as well and was wondering what windshield is that? I want something that is low profile like these.
i daily this bike. im loving it and have handful of people wanting to buy it. 9k on the odometer so far. just cant wait to change out that front tire to get rid of the bar wobble as it did at 7:01 lol
Hey, great channel. Love your videos and honest feedback! Do you have any update information/opinion on the Bolt R-Spec? I’m looking to buy a used one. I live in midtown Manhattan. It would be used for communiting to boroughs throughout the city for work?
I commute on mine, can cut through traffic quite easily. It narrow enough to filter
FYI
Yamaha already makes a scrambler version of the BOLT. The SCR950
hello this bike and fit a person 1.85 kg high and comfortable?
What's that end song ?
For those looking at the SCR950, a You tube bike reviewer called FortNine does a fantastic review on it, absolutely brilliant, this review here is different but still good
If someone could film you on the bike so that we could have an ideea about the bike's dimensions and also see what a tall dude looks on that bike would be awesome! And if you could do that on all the bikes you are reviewing would be perfect!
Good video brother Sean
Yamaha does have a scrambler that they use this engine for. It looks cool and has a classic look. Its not a true scrambler but it looks the part
bro just take my money already im waiting on my application for this bike lmao
Sean I miss SRK cycles it’s on my bucket list to buy a bike from you one day
I would love to see a bolt b-spec (bobber) it would be great.
Curious how tall you are and what your inseam is?
Amazing those note pads never fly off!
Do they make Bolt’s with ABS?
Nice bike nice vids nice words
If you had to choose between the Yamaha and a Sportster.. which one would you rather have?
Love the bolt c spec, absolutely hate the look of the speedometer
shook like crazy at 7 mins sean did no hands
don't dig handlebar shimmy 7 minutes into video...
Well if the handle bars wobble that's a safety issue then..I think I'll get the Kawasaki Vulcan s 650 instead 🤔
@1BrotherMack - If it's a known problem, Yamaha should fix it because it's dangerous to riders and a liability threat to Yamaha.
Such stuff should be made known to the Nat'l Traffic Safety Boards for the purpose of manufacturer's recall.
Dave InWLA don’t let these guys fool you man, I own a ‘15 Bolt R-Spec and my handlebars DO NOT shake at all going ANY SPEED. I believe but could be wrong, it was just the C-Specs that were mostly affected by this issue.
@@LuziannaBoy - And I notice that the C-spec is no longer sold. My guess is that there was a marginal stability in the frame that the clip-ons allowed to build up to a wobble. If Harley corrected the frame, they'd impune all their other 883 Sportsters. So, since the C-spec wasn't selling much, anyway, they just cut that line rather than fix the problem in the frame.
Just the virago win 🔥👍🏼
That little bit of shake you got in the handle bars is because of the groove in the front stock tire
wade schramm Not buying dat...those didn’t appear to be staight-line tread & no rain grooves in road that I saw...👎. That was a speed-related shimmy/wobble.
I had the same problem on my 2014 bolt, and a new front tire fixed it
That dash is filthy
Yikes that wobble. Reminds me of a 2006 Ninja 250 I use the ride that had been wrecked.
I love green, we all need some in our wallets.
What the heck happened at the 7 minute mark with the steering shimmy...?😳
88149288 that's the infamous death wobble, there is either an issue with the tire or the bearings inside the fork. Luckily it's a simple fix but not all bolts suffer from that wobble.
James N Well I thought that was only supposed to happen to Harleys according to the Internet...😝
Frank C. Yeah...and he had just come back to the bars after free-handing it...🙀
88149288 you're thinking of the different kind of death wobble where the touring bikes made by Harley try to act like sportbikes and end up looking stupid. The Yamaha was a simple fix, I think the Harley wobble is just a bad design.
Good word from Proverbs. Thanks for that!
How friendly is this to beginners?
I agree about the full-face helmet. I know PA doesn't have a helmet law, and when I'm in PA and I see riders with no helmets, I cringe. Do everything possible to save your head! You only get one.
Todd Baham they defend that law like the second amendment up there. I for one always wear a helmet but I understand where they are coming from
Doom Guy I do, too, but it's like seat belts in a car. Why drive without them? It's a choice and I respect it, but I'll never ride without my helmet.
@@outlaw3440 but it’s your head, it’s the part of your body that needs the most protection,
I spent $1500 AUD on my Shoei GT-Air2 with built in audio because it’s so comfortable
Both great bikes for there category. The only down side of the Kawy is that no matter what exhaust you put on it kinda sounds like a wet fart accelerating (parallel twin).Where as the bolts medium size v -twin has great rumbling note
The display flickering wont happen on that dash. Its an LCD display (like a calculator). If it were a colour display like you find on the top end ducati's you might see the flickering.
Can u make a xsr700 review?
I like the words of wisdom. Hoping to own one, preferably the r-spec
You were being sarcastic about shifting when you red line or stop accelerating... right? I always thought my engine told me to shift up around 3000RPM
Do a wheelie!
I’d like to see more green bikes!
check out the scr900 its technically the bolt scrambler
Got a scrambler, an SCR950, gets good reviews,
And they made the SCR950 Scramble Bolt. Went over like a fart in church. We have 2 left, 1 demo. Cool bike, tough seller.
this or a harley 883 ?
You sat down just before the intro. There's that post it.
Good! He remembered the words of wisdom 👌
Subscribed because you quoted scripture
7:00 you got wobble going 37... what's that all about
What's that head shake about at 7:00
3:40 Note to self: "Find railroad crossing, park Yamaha on the RR track and discuss seating position".
Look at minute marker 7:02....
I have a yamaha bolt r spec and I have the same issue In 4th gear, Death wobble Which is common between 40 and 55 mile hour. On his it looks at about 27 30 mile an hour
Have Fun Yahoo Wow
Donald roe your right, people shouldn't put others down because of their beliefs Funny how you called me out while ignoring the ones who put down Sean
Also why no 0-60? :(
I’m thinking about getting a motorcycle but I’ve never driven or even rode on one, would this bike be a good beginners bike ?
YES, its I have an R-Spec and its a great in city bike, and can take it on the highway. Its easy to handle, and pretty light. I would recommend.
Had one of these. No other bike I have owned had anywhere near the stares this got. Unfortunately it really is a leant over ride, whilst you can control wrist pressure by engaging core muscles, you can’t enjoy the scenery as you are just bent over too much. It really is a cafe racer ride so be warned.
The wobble at 7:02
How hot does that bike get?
Gotta love the words of wisdom. Would the r spec be a good first bike
Depends how big you are. It's a pretty heavy bike. Having said that the weight makes it feel well planted
I would habe bought it, but I hate display speedometer... Sad :/
I know you got to sell these bikes in the end, I get that, but for the love of Pete, is there any bike you don't like?
I love my bolt ⚡
Keep your hands on the grips. That thing wobbles!
Not a fan of cafe style, I like the R-spec better
That's not really "café style". Café racers are horizontal with high rear-set foot pegs, not Harleyesque like the Bolt.
Like the bike, hate digital speedometers. All of them.
I always herd green was bad luck on a motorcycle but I guess that's yet another myth. Hey! How bout one on motorcycle myths and untruths we've come to accept as true over the years
If that was me,the mail van would need a new left mirror...it would have been punched off!
Two things I'd replace before even being seen riding a Bolt would be get rid of that ugly air cleaner (I'm sure there are after market replacements) and the big, ugly muffler that makes it sound like your grandmas sewing machine. It needs to be opened up and let it breath more. Of course after these two mods, it would need to be re-jetted or in this case, re-program the computer to run properly.
Am I the only one that noticed the bolt death rattle when he let go with both hands?
I absolutely loved my Bolt. Rode it for almost two years and rode it from coast to coast. Phenomenal handling and reliable cruiser but they don’t hold there value to save their life. Only real downside in my opinion
This guy reminds me of ChrisFix
Analog Speedo for me.
Why can't a clean looking inline 4 cyl sport bike be made, similar to the old Norton Commando or Triumph?
Good Goat I’ve been thinking the same thing for awhile now. Fuel injected inline four cruiser. You do have the Kawasaki rs900? If that’s what style your thinking rumor still going around there in the works on a supercharged model :I
Just traded my beloved 2008 Ducati 848 for a 2016 YAMAHA BOLT R-Spec. After many years of sport bike riding I felt it was time for a change. Honestly, I couldn't be happier with my new bike. It's a completely different experience. Stay safe guys/gals and enjoy the open road! 🤙
Samed for me... my 1st Cruiser since 1982... always rode Sport bikes until this year
