    These two are the most honest genuine no bullshit Drs for hair loss I’ve ever come across.
    I suffered hair loss from a young age and used finasteride near 20 years ago. I was a super responder and my hair seemed to grow back while I was on it, I managed to keep a lot of my hair well into my late 30s. Now in my late 40s I’ve decided to let nature take its course. Although I have just started a course of Fin again just to see how much I can thicken it out.
    The information these guys give is second to none. And took scouring the internet and books to find 20-30 years ago

    I started using this “Amy Grow” hair oil in college and left it behind for newer brands. I’ve had some thinning due to braids and decided to go back and re-try this oil and I wish I had never left. I like the smell of the natural oil. This natural oil does not smell like coconuts or birthday cake or fruit like many other hair products. Instead, it smells earthy and natural and I prefer that. I would not say this is an instant miracle oil, but I have seen growth with regular use and massaging of my scalp. Yes, it is oil, but it also helps to soften my coarse, kinky hair, but I can see it being greasy if you have a smoother texture or straighten your hair. I would not apply this at bedtime because it can stain your sheets. Instead, I apply it in the morning so it has time to absorb during the day. Overall I highly recommend this “Amy-Grow” natural hair oil. It’s affordable, the ingredients are natural and it can assist growth. The amount you apply depends on your texture and style, so start with a couple of drops and go from there.

    So since I’m 22 with a Norwood 5 and my dad is a Norwood 5 or 6 and he is 62 years old. And my mother’s, brother’s one is I believe 54 years old and the other one is 50 years old. The younger brother my other uncle, had a Norwood 6 pattern when he was 43 years old I looked at pictures and he had and still has high sides and large donor area (I saw in person) and a few hairs meaning like 10 left but they were spread out, still on the top of his head. My other uncle that is 54 years old right now he has a Norwood 6 pattern I’m pretty sure because he still has high sides and a small patch on frontal forelock. So my question is since they are high Norwood’s but not Norwood 7 (I don’t think) and they are in there 50s and my dad is in his 60s. Am I only programmed to go up to a Norwood 5 or 6? and then my male pattern baldness has stopped and then I can get a transplant?

    Hi doc’s, I’m 22 years old this year and got marked at a 3 vertex. Although when looking at models of a 3 vertex, I feel I look better. I was told a FUE transplant would be a great option and if I maintained finasteride I would not have to worry of losing my hair any further and post transplant. I’m healthy and athletic with no issues with ED, but should I be worried about finateride side effects? And is the transplant a smart option if i use fin? Thanks guys.

    • @TheHairLossShow
      @TheHairLossShow  Před 4 lety +34

      Jay, this is a great question and really does highlight the issues.
      Firstly, you are quite young to already be a 3 vertex. Please don't take that badly, but it means that you are more to the moderate / aggressive end of the scale. With someone like that, the concern is how much further will you progress; with or without medication. Remember, even with finasteride, you still run the risk of losing more hair over time.
      There is a risk of early transplantation. The problem would be that if you need multiple surgeries over time will you run out of donor hair?
      If you go down the road of having a hair transplant, the key question is which technique would be better? There will be a lot of factors affecting that decision; but purely on an age basis, one could argue that you are better off starting with FUT and progressing to FUE later...
      Good luck!

      It works better the smaller the degree of miniaturisation. So I would assume that younger people would fit into that category, hence making the above statement true. That said, it is not cause and effect, meaning that it is not because of age that finasteride works better.

    I just want to keep my head full of hair till i am 40 or 45. After that, i really don't care if i have hair or not, because i have already lived my youth and i am ready to enter the next stage of the Human life, growing old.
    At that point, i just want to eat healthy and exercise so i don't have to rely on too many medicines and assistance into my old age.
    I am currently 25, already started experiencing hair thinning and hair loss, i haven't taken any medication yet, but i will probably start with micro-dose of fin and maybe bump it up to 1mg if i don't see much effect.
    I don't plan on taking fin for my entire life, it is completely unnecessary.
    Just keep your hair while you are young, and if you want, you can try and keep it into your 50's and 60's, but that's just too much toll on your body. Let nature take its course at that point.
