I'd watch these old tournaments over new ones 10/10 times
I can't stand watching all the 2 handed bowlers I personally think it should be banned
@@danlincoln8987 I agree it has ruined the sport irreparably
I’ve watched at least 1 a day for a few months now. It reminds me of the early 2000s when I binge watched ESPN classic lol.
Wow😊
I used to hate watching old videos that included commercials but now I love it, Nostalgia
What a field of bowlers for this telecast! Wow!
Randy Pedersen puts a tremendous amount of roll on the ball.
I remember when Chris Warren made his last National Telecast. It was back in 2007 in Baltimore, Md. He was throwing a Brunswick Twisted Fury. He threw the ball SO WELL that night, only to lose in the opening shootout by one pin to Mike DeVaney.
Mike and Denny in the opening talk about what a mystery it is why Chris Warren has been struggling. It's easy to answer that now - reactive resin. With urethane, Chris, like Amleto Monacelli, created so much power that they made success for themselves. When resin came out, it took their advantage away.
Resin hurt nobody more than Del Ballard, he was already playing the roll out shot with urethane. So he had no chance with Resin.
Jerry Czzowitz Interesting. But now that you mention that, his career did kind of stall when reactive resin came out. No one benefited more from resin than Walter Ray Williams Jr. That change in technology MADE his career legendary. Pete Weber probably adjusted the best from urethane to resin.
I agree on both points, if not for the drug use Pete is probably the GOAT with 50+ titles. And further on my Ballard point , he won 13 titles from 86 to 93. So only 1 title after resin came out and he was just hitting his prime at 30 yrs old in 93 , so a real shame.
Jerry Czzowitz Agree. The late-great Earl Anthony called urethane "cheater balls." What do we call reactive resin? Has it destroyed professional bowling like many say? I recall an interview Pete Weber gave in response to resin - "now you can buy a big hook in a box. It used to be that you had to create it with talent, but not anymore."
Exactly, and don't get me started on the guys with 2 hands and no thumb.
Always love watching Walter Ray bowl. Only man on tour who can throw a horseshoe at the pins and get a strike. 😊
Bob Vespi has one hell of an armswing. Kinda wish he would have won more than 2 titles, guy had some good skill...
So weird to see Weber throwing something else other than Storm now and days :P Rat Tail Weber throwing a Cuda/C :P
I loved the Cuda/c! It was a pretty damn good ball, if I had to say so, myself. You are quite right Sam, I thought I would never see anything, but a Storm product in PDW's hand, once the hay day of Storm rolled around.
Just as weird seeing WalteRay throw anything other than Brunswick.
the first and second matches were exciting and very close
Andrew Phillips
Mark Roth and Earl Anthony have bowled some exciting matches
George N. Pappas and Ernie Schlegel have bowled some awesome matches
your mom and I have an exciting and close relationship
Why do you throw a big bender at spares? Shows you how smart Vespi is.
it's kind of crazy that randy became a commentator he seemed to stutter a lot in interviews. Maybe he just had to get used to T.V. and talking a lot
The PBA is nothing like it used to be
Please watch all of the Matches before You read the Comments.
Gold Rhino Pro original
@@800game i agree. shot my first 300 in league play back in1996 with that ball.
Strap Strap Strap. B Vespi needed the soup in the middle
Did the Cuda/C or Pirahna/C, come out first?
Pretty sure a piranha/c. I had one and don't remember debating on which one of the two I should get
@@ertpecsertpecs I do believe you are correct, Dave.
Piranha/c came out first...
I've seen a few bowlers win 4 games but not 4 different winners, it must've happened
Bob Vespi is using a Navy Blue Hammer (Reactive)...
Y coach is there!
Is that just a shined up Black Hammer ?
Which guy are you talking about? Vespi is using a Navy Reactive Hammer, their first resin ball if that helps.
@@canuck_gamer3359 think that was my first reactive..
Why did Bob Vespi quit the tour? What a talented bowler!
Al Slowinski I knew about he and Kim, but what do you mean by "he lost it?" His mental health? His PBA card?
Dr. Anderson is that true. he actually stole Pete's wife?
Nick Berg Unfortunately, yes.
Nick Berg Pete drove all of his wives away with his constant drug and alcohol use. He’s single again now because Tracy left him
Douglas Harris lol where do you get your info on Petey
Made my say watching Randy P beat up on Bob Vespi😊
Bob Vespi: 249
Walter Ray Williams Jr: 246
Bob Vespi: 231
Pete Weber: 215
Bob Vespi: 279
Chris Warren: 180
Randy Pedersen: 210
Bob Vespi: 166
Pedersen Wins!
Thomas McCarrick asshole
Douglas Harris
How’s the wife doing? Sorry, too soon?
Thomas McCarrick Hey it’s the spoiler asshole again!
Jr D Eyyyy it’s small dick
Hey! How about we watch to find out. Why put this in the comments?
I find it weird that that bowlers keep switching seats every shot. They can't just stay in one chair?
Cause the seat they end up in is the lane their next frame is on. The first seat they're on is the last lane they bowled on and not in the way of whoever is gonna bowl the next frame on the other lane. Good enough explanation for you?
@@ertpecsertpecs I obviously deducted that, but is it really necessary to move to a seat a few feet to the right or left every shot? Just seems a little odd.
@@ww2079 it seems normal to me to not want to crowd somebody when they're on television bowling for thousands of dollars. That's just me though :P
@@ertpecsertpecs wouldn't the chair be in the way too then?
Randy Pedersen was in the driver's seat to win the Greater Harrisburg Open
Andrew Phillips spoiler asshat
One of these are not like the others....
What a dopey look vespi had! Lol
Chance Holton Pete’s wife Kim liked it and left Pete.
@@douglasharris5216 Is that a fact?
Kim Weber was the hottest of all of his wife's.
@@tomcerra6930 tracy is the hottest of petes wives
I always had the hots for Kim ever since the first time I ever saw her
I can't do anything but shake my head every time I see Vespi on TV. This was a sign of things to come when the depth of professional level players started to thin out drastically. How can anyone who at best would convert a spare like the 3,6,10 about half the time, possibly make the final round of a PBA event and actually win once or twice??? To me that's nearly miraculous, I'm sorry but this guy had no business bowling in these tournaments. The guy is just as likely to shoot 160 as he is 230, he misses every spare on the lane and threw how many crossover strikes in this show? It's just embarrassing to the PBA to me.
Coulda just been one of those days…. He was good
@@playdiscgolf1546 no. No he wasn't.
Every time I see a show with vespi the commentators seem aware of that. U can tell them guys aren't rooting for him at all
Piranha c was The ball
01:07:04 Sorry guys, there's this teenager named Eldrick that, if you haven't heard of yet, you will.
Bob Vespi almost shot a 300 game in the semi final match
Andrew Phillips Don Johnson almost shot 300 on a PBA Event, almost doesn’t count.
Boob Vesprick also got with Pete Webers wife
Best part is the guy was averaging 255 fir the first 3 games. Title match gag city.
That’s why he only had 2 titles.
He can’t adjust to save his life
How Vespi won a PBA tournament is beyond me. The kid's a hack...i grew up bowling with him.
He has to be the worst professional bowler I've ever seen in 40+ years of fandom. Anyone who throws a big bending hook at single pin spares is an idiot. 'Hack' is a good word 👌
From what I understand he grew up in Albany, my hometown. Any stories in particular?
