In this video I beat Minecraft as fast as possible, but the overworld was ONLY desert! This challenge was a blast and I was able to achieve a time under 18 minutes which I was very happy with. The way you collected wood was very clever. Never thought about using pillager outposts for wood.
no, THE best way to find wood is to search for 20 minutes to find a village with a cartography table, Then u upgrade him to sell you a woodland mansion. Then you walk 40000 blocks and spending 10 hours finding it. Then Free wood!

@@ggf_andyfox1946 Woah. That's kinda genius for a desert only seed. Plus, saplings are in blacksmith loot tables for villages, and in most of the woodland mansion loot tables.

I was surprised by this too when I did a desert-only challenge not too long ago. I had no clue pillager outposts could spawn in deserts but I guess it makes sense.

Feinberg you know what : I have a really very low end laptop on which I play Minecraft...so if i play a normal world i get 5-10 fps but when i play desert only world in in 1.14.3 optifine I get like 25 fps , so I have been playing like these type of runs for over a year now... i even have a pb of 53 minutes on desert only world....so there is no nether wood either
the only 2 places to get wood is either pillager outpost which are quite rare or mineshaft

that's a terrible idea, you have to wait for phantoms meaning it's impossible to get sub hour times.
@@ianchen4998 so? there r plenty of speedrun categories without sub hour times. feinberg has a video from like two weeks ago doing a category that took him 14 hrs.

@@clarelane9187 i know he did those, i've watched the videos but monsters hunted is an incredibly stupid achievement for speedrunning, after killing all the other mobs you have to just wait until the phantoms spawn. phantoms spawn on the fourth night and that's when the run usually ends meaning that most monsters hunted runs will have a 1 hr 10min time or so. thunderstorm cycles are random so don't even tell me about his all blocks run

Do the floating Islands one instead. You can set it to desert only. This means you must use 4 blocks of sand in your 4x4 crafting table to make building blocks to get from one island to another. It's the same thing as this video but a lot harder. Ps: make sure you only walk until you find a village lol
PS: You got a really lucky spawn. I would keep refreshing until you find a world where you have to walk and explore for atleast 500 blocks or so. Struggling is very fun!
PPS: strongholds spawn floating near the bottom of the void
