The Second Book of Enoch (usually abbreviated 2 Enoch, and otherwise variously known as Slavonic Enoch or The Secrets of Enoch) is a pseudepigraphic (a text whose claimed authorship is unfounded) of the Old Testament. It is usually considered to be part of the Apocalyptic literature. Late 1st century CE is the dating often preferred. The text has been preserved in full only in Slavonic, but in 2009 it was announced that Coptic fragments of the book had been identified. Greek is indicated as the language behind the Slavonic version. It is not regarded as scripture by Jews or any Christian group. It was rediscovered and published at the end of 19th century.
Most scholars consider 2 Enoch to be composed by an unknown Jewish sectarian group, while some authors think it is a 1st-century Christian text. Very few scholars consider it a later Christian work. This article discusses 2 Enoch. It is distinct from the Book of Enoch, known as 1 Enoch. There is also an unrelated 3 Enoch. The numbering of these texts has been applied by scholars to distinguish the texts from one another.
Manuscript Tradition
2 Enoch has survived in more than twenty Slavonic manuscripts and fragments dated from 14th to 18th centuries CE. These Slavonic materials did not circulate independently but were included in collections that often rearranged, abbreviated, or expanded them. Typically, Jewish pseudepigraphical texts in Slavic milieux were transmitted as part of larger historiographical, moral, and liturgical codexes and compendiums where ideologically marginal and mainstream materials were mixed with each other.
2 Enoch exists in longer and shorter recensions. The first editors considered original the longer version, while since 1921 Schmidt and many authors challenged this theory considering more ancient the shorter recension. Vaillant in 1952 showed that the additional parts found only in the longer version use more recent Slavonic terms. Other scholars suggest that both of them preserve original material and the existence of three or even four recensions.
Two different ways to numbering verses and chapters are used for 2 Enoch: the more widely accepted is Popov's one in 73 chapters, while De Santos Otero proposed a division in 24 chapters.
The best family of manuscripts are copies of the compilation of rearranged materials from chs. 40-65 from a 14th-century judicial codex "The Just Balance" ("Merilo Pravednoe"). The main manuscripts of the longer version are R, J and P. The main manuscripts of the shorter version are U, B, V, N. See also references.
Most scholars believe that the Slavonic version was translated from one or more Greek lost versions, since the text attests to some traditions that make sense only in the Greek language, for example a tradition found in 2 Enoch 30 that derives Adam’s name from the Greek designations of the four corners of the earth. The Semitisms, such as the words Ophanim, Raqia Arabot, and others found in various parts of the text, point to the possibility of the Semitic original behind the Greek version.
In 2009, four fragments from chapters 36-42 in Coptic have been identified. They follow the short recension a.

Now I understand why this book was left out, some scientists took the credit of 365 days and trying to convince us with how they calculated years, months, days and hours. It have filled many gaps from the book of genesis.. glory to God!

We are in the tribulation as we speak, all it takes is a crazy political leader to declare war on another country with nuclear weapons and it's over because God said that if it were not for the elect he will cut the days short. So the end is at hand.

My goodness the authority in Gods Word🙇♂️ it’s true that’s it’s like a sword that pieces deep to the soul. It doesn’t get any better than this man. The first time I listened to the first book of Enoch I paused it and couldn’t continue until some time bc I was just starting out seeking the Lord and I teared up and my soul shook and I was shocked. Their enough meat and potatoes for the soul in these for sure!
3 years later and I'm still coming back to hear this again. Knowledge is wisdom with great knowledge comes great responsibility. Praise be to the King of Kings Lord of lords

The Book of Enoch was a household book in Israel at the time of Jesus. The story of the fallen angels that Jude quotes from in these verses comes from the Book of Enoch, just as Jude himself declares.

@Jacob Watson at the time I typing this comment I know that the book of Enoch could be more of a authentic source because I figured out it was found in the dead sea scrolls. But I heard that the 2nd book of Enoch is not reliable source. Simply, sometimes with the "lost books of the bible" some books got actually lost, because of this some people decide to recreate their own story that is not inspired by God. Which is why I was mainly saying in my first comment to be on guard and test the spirit. If a book outside of what's already in the Bible, be on guard, test it, and don't welcome it with open arms (is what I was mainly trying to say).

I just pray for them to the Lord to forgive them because they know not what they do. Imagine in the great tribulation they still would not repent. I always wondered why this book was not included. It comes to show that God is patient and when i couldn't understand revelations God revealed it to me at the right time. Ive read the book of Enoch several times in the past. This time listening to it by your interpretation revealed the whole truth about it. Woe to those who hide the truth from everyone. Deceiver to the T.

The Pharisees and Scribes should have known He was the Messiah or Son of God if they had this book. Maybe they didn't have it. The Son of God gave these words to Enoch, didn't He? I see David's words in here. I see Paul;s words and Jesus's words. I feel this will help all Christians with their 'walk with God' after reading it. We can all walk with God if we heed to it.
