Lol, everyone kept putting wood defenses right next to their towers; the fire spread basically made those defenses useless and provided a larger target.
Yup. It was like creating a fuse for someone to lite. I was waiting for Jack to put 4 dispensers directly in front of a tower and stopped anything while still using 2 dispensers at the end
Gavin was the only one with a good defense of 1 by 1 block tower defenses to negate the spread of fire.
Yep, except that the fireballs completely circumvented the defenses anyway.
Yeah, but his last wall was still close enough enough to spread the fire to light the wool.
gravion227 almost. For cannon fodder to work with fire spread, you need a 2 block gap between each row and shift each row 1 to the right from the previous row. Create's a wall of 1x1 towers to burn through before the tower.

His whole idea was to basically fireball kamikaze into the tower, so putting himself out would've ruined that.
No, he literally said, out loud, that he planned on using a fire charge but died before he got close enough to use it. (33:12 being when he revealed the plan out loud) A quick dip might've saved this from being a two-parter and instead just being a longer one-shot.
They should have an episode where they all just sit there and try to figure out the red dust stuff

While I still enjoy these videos it's amazing to me after all the years of you guys playing Minecraft you still don't understand not to build burnable structures near your wool Towers building wooden walls to protect them is fine but don't build them so close that when the walls on fire it catches the wool tower on fire.

For anyone doing their own Lava Wall, make your defences in a checker board pattern. Fire spreads. If there's no connector between walls, it'll only stay on that wall.
