If someone with connections to Jimmy is reading this, fachrissake ask him to send a signed t-shirt or something to Greg. I think that'd be awesome! 👍🏻👍🏻

That would be beyond cool but I'd need to get a post office box or something. When I set up this channel, it was somewhat of a reaction to all the other reaction channels. They all posted a PO Box so people could send them all this free shit. It seemed kind of greedy and crass so I made a point not to do it. I wanted to make sure it was all about the music and not my personal profit. For Jimmy Barnes though......

Cold Chisel broke up in '83 - Check out their Last Stand Tour. They have done plenty of reunion tours and have just announced their 50th year tour

A few months ago i saw a article about a owner driver that had a mural of Jimmy painted on his prime mover and Jimmy autographed it

Chisels last show together was in 1983 when they split for the first time. Since then they have reformed a few times, released albums and toured this great land. They released an album in early 1984, called Twentieth Century. The songs were from 1983 when they were together. There are some great tunes still on that album. That includes Hold me Tight, No sense, Saturday Night, Janelle, Only One, Painted Doll, and Flame Trees.
Jimmy’s solo career began in 1984, and his inaugural album was called Bodyswerve. There are some excellent singles from this album, and the first song released was No Second Prize. The album included a song called A Change is Gonna Come (Sam and Dave cover), and Daylight (the official clip from Jimmy’s YT page is hilarious as he does a bit of acting before it skips to the 1984 Playroom live concert). Other songs include Boys Cry Out for War (rock), Thick-skinned, Vision, Paradise and Resurrection Shuffle. The only live version of Thick Skinned is amongst the full concert here. It’s a killer tune, in my opinion. Here is a link to the full concert. Enjoy 🎉

PS the songs are time stamped in the comments. Look for my comment to help you. I am subscribed to Casey Cooper’s channel. He has heaps of full concerts on his page including the Andy Durant memorial concert. The hours I have spent watching both of those! Well let’s just say most of the views would be mine 😂

I'm reading his first book "Working Class Boy".

@@deepcutsreactions7774 are you enjoying it so far. It is a compelling read. I had trouble putting it down. He did not have an easy upbringing. I cried in all three books, but I’m a softie, and cry at a hat.

@@kazz3956 I'm about 3/4 of the way through. It's quite intense. The level of violence astounds me. I do get it but, damn. I keep trying to compare it to my life since he's just a few years younger than me. I was a hippie peacenik so it freaks me out. It's hard to imagine he lived through it.

This and Slim Dusty's 'Lights on the Hill' are the two greatest trucker anthems to come out of Australia.

Nah, a bloke is just a guy. This was when Jimmy's solo career was at its height following the For the Working class man, and Freight Train Heart albums, and it was a big hit. That was Diesel in the film clip but i don't doubt your information in regards to the studio version of the song. In a similar period, i urge you to listen to The Last Frontier from off the Barnestorming album (there would surely be footage somewhere). It has a brilliant piano intro and the song is great anyway.
