    I'm not even living the nomad life and I spend 90% of my time alone by choice. There's peace in alone time. I'm sure safety on the road is something to be more aware of, but I feel perfectly safe alone.

    I love being alone! I used to go to movies and concerts alone all the time. Nowadays I'm a homebody, and I love it. There are no plans for a partner or a "best buddy" to do things with. I'm happy by myself with my books, shows, & art. Alone does not mean lonely. 😁✌️❤️

      I spend most of my time alone or with my dogs now. I go out alone and on holiday alone too. I had friends, but discovered that they werent true friends and I would rather be alone than put up with the chaos and drama some people feel they need to surround themselves with. I got tired of being the person everyone went to, to provide solutions, solice and far too often, money, (loans never repaid), to help sort their mess out. When I needed help, they vanished into thin air, only to re-appear when they had another problem they wanted me to solve. Sometimes it's hard not having someone around to call on if needed, but on balance, I would rather that then be in the company of perpetually chaotic and selfish parasites. Harsh words, but gleaned from past experience. I agree, being alone does not equate to being lonely.

      also, "social" media is not a good way to gauge people. People only post positive aspects of themselves (hiding negatives), so its easy to be fooled and scammed. Gut instinct is often superior, the old school way. People buried in their Iphones, oblivious to their surroundings is a red flag. People and society seemed much richer and meaningful and happier before facebook, etc.

    As a full time van lifer, I'm way more cautious then when I had apartments in NY! And first starting Van life is a shell shock at first! You have to give yourself time to adapt, adjust to it! It's not easy All the time! Vanlife is mostly depending on yourself and God! Not someone holding your hand!

    Funny you posted this. I was catching up on your videos last night; haunted apartment, set up, trailer damage, in the hotel, etc. So today, I’m in Texas traveling, and I look up and there is a woman that looks like you and a dog that looks like Pippa. I was like whatttttt! 😂 Anyway thanks for teaching me how to safely travel in my car. 💕

    I don’t know why, but I was never afraid. I’ve been doing this for years and no problems. I have moved on several times when I felt uncomfortable, but that’s about it. I’m camping with a group for the winter and don’t like two of the women but I just avoid them. You are never going to like everyone but you can be an adult. Last year I found a group on a FB page but I spent a week with them and they were not welcoming at all. So I found another group and moved. There are lots of nomads out here. And sometimes I travel alone with my dog. It’s all good.

    I’m so happy I found this channel! I used to be a full-time RVer. My RV got stolen in 2020 and I have been where I am too long! I got to get out so I am going to set my 2006 Chrysler Pacifica upto car camp until I can save up to buy a 5x8 cargo carrier just like you (which is probably why you popped up for me lol) and hit the road.
    I will admit that I was scared when I first went out in my RV and then I got super comfortable and I’m having the same feelings about the car. However, I have faith that once I get out there and I’m doing it again I will regainmy confidence but you are 1000% right, you have to do it. You have to try it and the more you do it, the more you get out there, the more confident and comfortable you become.
    Thanks for sharing!

    From what I've come to understand is that there is a robust social climate available for those road warriors who do enjoy groups. All one needs to do is find them! By the same token, one must truly enjoy their own company and not feel the need to be entertained constantly to be successful out there. Not a lot of ppl are wired that way. Glad I am. Hooray!

    • @serenityjewel
      @serenityjewel Před rokem +2

      There are definitely groups you can join AND those groups are not 24 hours, 365 days a year. You're with the groups for a certain time and then you're alone for a certain time. You're going to be alone just as much as you're going to be with others, if not more so, so you have to be comfortable entertaining yourself, making random friends, and finding your own way.

I do own land & a house but when I retire I will sell everything & buy a van & hit the road. I am a nomad at heart. Hi Brooke! Are you wearing the cool right top from Wal Mart? I purchased two of them yesterday and, it's so comfy but, when I stick my thumb in the hole like you're doing in this video, it feels weird. Also I have the jackery 240 and it meets my needs perfectly but, when I tried warming the hot pack that you talked about from Target I wondered how long to keep it in my hot logic. I preheat the hot log but, the hot pack still does not get or stay hot. I quit using hot hands because it smells like chemicals and, that makes me feel sick.

      A 'caravan' is usually three or more vehicles that usually travel together or may met up periodically. They may share resources - three vehicles with one large tent for cooking/ socializing. The up side is safety in numbers. It is common for multiple families traveling with husbands when he is in construction or are utility workers. These families their income may be above average and have nicer RV's/rigs. I find them to be cheerful, very social and welcome newcomers to their group. Long term camping at its best.
