Police Communication Technicians (911 Operators) are the first voice you hear and sometimes the last voice as well. Thank you again 😓

I can remember being an 10 year old boy, at home in the UK and being off due to illness, watching this tragic day unfold. I'm now 30 years old and work in my Police Force's control room and can relate to these stories of the PCTs. I honestly couldn't have more respect for not only this role but all First Responders on that day.
I can only try to imagine what it must have been like to talk to the people trapped above the fire floors; then when the towers collapsed, to know they were gone. Heartbreaking!
Thank you heros I can't imagine what you must have went thru that day to receive hundreds of calls from ppl that are no longer her may all victims rest in peace and no way to help them
I commend the 911 communications because they heard the victims. They heard people hysterical and pleading for help. They heard the victims in pain and knew they couldn't get help to them yet still gave them the false hope and we Americans salute you for that. I would have done the same. I would have assured them and gave them hope too. It was such a horrific time for all involved and I can only imagine the PTSD that people felt after that.
I was working on Lake Shore Drive Chicago Illinois journeyman Ironworker on location Chicago when Happened, my grandfather during world war II was on a destroyer escort ship in New York harbor last line of defense
I was the main dispatcher that day and this interview was done while I was at metro tech and none of these people interviewed told me this interview was taking place, but I included them in my interview.
