I think the shrimp would work very well here, too! If you want to try it without seafood, shredded rotisserie chicken is great, too :)

I made it last night. It is super tasty. I had only one layer only with eggwhites and cheese, left egg yolks on top because i want it to be yellow. There is too much mayo so there is a way to put just a little bit squeezing from the bag between layers to lower the fat.

Good Day Chef 🇺🇦🧑🍳. That is quite interesting. Normally I put finely grated carrots 🥕 in my tuna 🐟 salad very small diced celery and granulated onion 🧅. For me no dill, I would go with my favorite Tarragon. I'm assuming you cooked the carrots for texture purposes. And of course your egg yolk had no green skin around it. I would serve the salad with some onion Matzos. Even keep the ingredients separate and serve on a nice mixed greens salad 🥗. Excellent to bring to an upcoming summer party, or serve at your own. Good day! It's a unique salad for sure! Yes, most salads in Ukraine and Russia use cooked veggies like potatoes, carrots, and beets. I've never tried this with celery but I'm wondering about it. Maybe I'll try adding some next time I make. Hope you enjoy it! :)
@@TatyanasEverydayFood Good Day Chef 🇺🇦🧑🍳. I think the celray is a NY thing. Also diced onions, don't like raw onions myself unless paper thin slices on a burger. Potato salad and macaroni salad in NY don't have onion but does have diced red bell peppers and sometimes carrots. Egg in most Deli style salads here in Amish Land except cole slaw. I don't like celery seeds in my slaw either. I was able to find ground celery seeds which are perfect for salads and seasoning. I'm just about to put some fresh bread 🍞 in the oven. It's a parmesan cheese, toasted onion and parsley. Making loaves for all my neighbors for Easter. Give us this day our daily bread. Wish I could share with you too. Sure! You can whisk together some softened cream cheese with the mayo.
I'm allergic to eggs and mayo, do you think using sour cream instead would work? Would the salad still hold up if I omit the eggs completely? 😅 sorry for so many questions, love your work ❤
Sour cream would definitely not work with this as the consistency and taste would not work with the mixture of ingredients. Try using a vegan mayo instead. The eggs is really what makes this salad the finishing touch and flavor with all the ingredients, but you can omit them and instead just use potatoes, carrots, cheese, and than maybe add another layer of potatoes on top. Otherwise, in all honesty, if you are not going to make it per this exact recipe you may find yourself disappointed and wastiting time as all the ingredients she used are just a must to make this salad worth making. But hey, worth experimenting if you are daring enough 😉 Good luck! Oh, and I have heard some ppl sautéing mushrooms with onions and adding it chilled to the salad, especially if you end up using shredded chicken breast instead of tuna and that combination is also really delicious 😋
