Another good one Pauly. A hundred years ago when my sisters and I were panning beside the creeks, we would scratch most of the dirt out of the cracks and then gently run clean water through the cracks to expose the gold in the bottom and then just suck it out of there. You have the water right there- make it do the work for you :) The wife and I were planning a day out with the 2300 today but farm work got in the way. We have several rich old gold fields close by- if you want to see the biggest nugget ever found where I live in Australia, google "The Holtermann Nugget"- it's worth a look. Keep 'em coming mate- great stuff :) Jay.

You ought to bring a battery powered vacuum like Dan's does to really clean that crevice out.
Pauly, do you think sometimes the bigger nuggets may have popped out due to you panning down to the smallest material? Can you have two classifiers to do a pan of the chunkier bits and then all the fines?

Nice gold Pauly ! Have you ever considered carrying a 5 gallon bucket for flushing those crevices above the water line ? I’ve used them to expose many nice nuggets with ease. You just fill with water and dump from a couple of feet. Don’t be gentle, the gold worth getting will stay right in catch points. An added benefit is you can carry your gear in it as well.
Wow what a great find congrats sir and even though you got less gold from the up side you weren’t at the BOTTOM that was the middle all the big nuggets piled up at the end of the up but they are at least 2 feet deep… looking forward to part 2 thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼
Ahoy Pauly,, I use a paint roller with the painty end cut off so you just have a handle and the high tensile right angle bend,,, very good for breaking up the crack gravel 😊😊😊

For years now I have used long bread knives with a hook ground into the end that works real well for cutting those cracks. Long and thin and cheep like me, but very efficient.

Getting into crevices like that, you could grab a metal spoon and bend it. Then cut notch into a dowel as if you're trying to split it from the top. Stick the spoon handle in the notch and hot glue/super glue it together. Use it as a digging tool to get into narrow spots.
