EVERY TIME I AM SAD AND I LISTEN TO THIS SONG, A MAGICAL FORCE SHAKES MY SPIRIT AND MAKES ME FEEL VERY GOOD. DAMN I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate just how fucking incredible this sounds with it being LIVE! No auto tune here!
When you’ve mastered your instrument 10 times over! The whole band is superb 👍🏻
He is surreal on those high notes most harp players never touch!!!!
That has got to be the greatest performance by a harmonica player I have ever seen
It's the greatest anyone has ever seen.
@@dillwill1813 agreed
Just when you think his voice is the strongest instrument on stage.. he starts up that harmonica solo.. fcking godlike
He is truly one of, if not the best harmonica musicians the world will ever see.
John Popper is to the harmonica as Jimi Hendrix is to the guitar as Charlie Daniels is to the fiddle.
Lord... I miss this band & that harmonica.... Misty in Arkansas sends respects
This is WAY better than anything I´ve heard for the last 20 years.
its awesome stuff. but look again its there not on the radio but its there.
Check out gretta van fleet pretty good
You betcha!
Kicked a$$
Still holds true 😁
I'm embarrassed to say I only came across this track mid August 2023.
I'm mad for it.
Big respect guys. 🤘
Bro, no worry! People still meeting Led Zep for first time haha😅
So many comments about the awesome harp playing, but this song also has a monster of a bassline.
here for the bass
BOBBY :)
It's not a harp, it's a harmonica.
@@OriginalGaucho sure thing 👍
Yes!
This is the definition of being in the groove. Been a fan of this band for wow 32 years now. Seen them over a dozen times and have never been disappointed much less could say any show was just okay or average. Their shows are amazing
just more incredible music from the best decade of my life. I was 19 in 90. saw these guys couple times a year!
Born in 82. Best age to be for this music
Same here. Loving this song from Argentina.
Yes! Agree! 100%. I was born in 76. The 90s was the best! Always will be!🤘🤘🤘🤘
I watch this video every Monday morning. Gets me thru but anyway thanks guys
Couldn't love this band anymore than I do. They fucking rock.
He definitely is in a league of his own he’s probably the only artist I know who shreds the harmonica all the way
I do miss the vocal harmonies like in the recording
Best...version...ever.
Doddamn I’ve never in my day heard a harmonica made me start headbangin dude you are a freaking god! And a mother lovin’ rockstar I nominate these guys for the hall of fame just for the original sound and true appreciation for music and what it does for the soul. If I ever write a song that can make others feel the way I do in my spine listening to this I’ll die happy and satisfied
Truly underrated. Great band.
Best harmonica player ever!
Robert Mudra 6
I've read that John Popper is top ten, like 5 or 6 greatest harmonica players of all time
Probably too two. Or one. His solos are just hard to beat.
Depends who you ask.Totally unique in his solos especially in his seemingly effortless use of the high notes that other harp players never incorporate into their solos!
i've never even heard anyone else playing the chromatic harp. surely nobody even in the same league as popper. please enlighten me, the next tier of harmonica players i know is like... bob dylan? there are places on the 'four' album where i can't tell if it's a harmonica playing or a guitar!
There a reason this bands been touring since 1987! They Rock!🤜 but anyway
That Bass line , and my man on the kit..tip top 👌
This song is fire
I've seen him many times I love them and I'm 55 years old
Just awesome, I love hearing and playing this tune..
That bass jam was so utterly satisfying! This is the first live BT I've seen, and it totally rocks!
One of the best bands of all time!!‼️‼️
whoa!!!!!!!! I was there but dont remember it like this. Must have been in the clouds.
Was there. It was 2 and a half months since the Devils won their first cup. Was there too. One H E double hockey sticks of a summer. RIP Bobby. You were a cool genius bassist. Never forget city gardens with you.
One of favorite bassist RIP Mr Sheehan
Rocks my groove💜🎶🎶
Their music never grows old!
Lost a bit of the voice but he's still just shredding that harmonica 21 years later... I feel old.
just think how many times he has sang this song since then lol
shut it
This is music!! What a talent!!
I've heard of your music and Blues Brothers good music awesome
But Anyway >÷
WOW
Great song guys. God bless.✌️
the best harmonica
Quite literally insane how awesome this band is/was.
kingpin tks blues traveler for a masterpiece amazing see ya in aug in greensboro nc
Amazing
Great Tune. Killed It !!!
Best harmonica playing ever!
He SHREDS that harp!!
Excellent! Great performance and recording, thank you
On fire! 🔥 🔥 🔥 Awsome!!!
Who's still listening in 2004?
God…damn.
4:20 - 4:45 is ridiculous. How is it possible to play harmonica like that.
Easy.... 1/3 talent.... 2/3 practice !
He sold his soul to the devil for the special talent
And then gets back to singing like it ain't... no... THANG.
@@Motormouthmachine Definitely not easy to do
RIP Bobby Sheehan. He was one of the greatest bass players of all time.
Ah no, when did he kark it?
Gold!
Bad ass, man!!!
why does this song go so fukin hard??!!
Killing it!!!
Bobby Sheehan was a total beast. RIP brother.
A kick ass man

Thanks
Happy 50th birthday John Popper!
Great harp
Badass!!!!!!!!
A good music
Masterpice of playin on mouth harmonica...i've never heard anything like that
Awesome Harper player!!!
Wow! ❤ That was Reeeeely Good! There's only ONE Thing That Would've Made Watching That Even Better!... And That Would be if I Could've Been There In PERSON, With My Best Friend, Mark! 💕
Killer boots yo !!
I've never heard an other man shred a harp like John .
Cool big up
Emotional harmonik
Bollocks to the guitar! mouth organ is highland along with the accordian
Play it soul brother
fact: civilization peaked in the 1990s
Bobby Sheehan star of the show.
And the name is John popper in the Blues Traveler
Popper's damn good, brilliant even, but the late Paul Butterfield was a f**king master harp player, mermerising to hear - no player before or since has been able to bend notes like that. He was arguably the finest player in living memory.
I feel sorry for that harmonica cuz dude his killing it. Props!!
Popper is a great musician for sure, but Jesus Christ, Bobby Sheehan and that bass!!
I got his Harmonica
wow
Jesus CHRIST I mean the epitome of shredding the groove
Did John popper pioneer the harmonica vest?
And the the name again is Big John popper and the Blues Traveler
Pooper is a virtuoso on the harp no doubt. They will never be quiet the same without Bobby Sheehan in bass. RIP
I wish I could shred the living shit outta that three harmonica like my pleasantly plump pal of blues traveler
👍
fuck. that was awesome.
He munsoned that harmonica
Flossin'? Where did I get Munson from?
Nick Wind I’m literally here bc I just got done watching kingpin and had to revisit how awesome blues traveler was.
Sh&_#_
Gets you rocking
Fucking greate When you come to Denmark, after the corona .-) sorry its to much but you are greate
Mode
Popper is in his own league.
"But Anyway"
I lied and told her I loved her,
She didn't care, but anyway
I told her we'd still be friends,
And she didn't care, but anyway
I tried last week for to call her,
She wasn't home, but anyway
I think I'll spend my life alone,
I really don't care right now, but anyway
It's a state of affairs and a state of emotions
The kind of thing that you must understand
I tell you one thing; you tell me another
We walk away, maybe then shake hands
I'm quitting cigarette smoking
It's bad for me, but anyway
I don't think the TV was joking
When it told me this, but anyway
The newsman said not to sit on strange toilet seats
It's my life he's trying to save, but anyway
I found out that I've got eye cancer
Too many television waves, but anyway
It's a state of affairs and a state of emotions
The kind of thing that you must understand
I tell you one thing; you tell me another
We walk away, maybe then shake hands
Some day an answer will find us
Quite a long shot, but anyway
I think the past, the past is behind us
Be real confusing if not, but anyway
I put all my hope in tomorrow
It's gonna be great, I can tell but anyway
I see a new, a new day a dawning
I like to sleep late, oh well, but anyway
It's a state of affairs and a state of emotions
The kind of thing that you must understand
I tell you one thing; you tell me another
We walk away, maybe then shake hands
Awesome band but killer base
All I can say is, "Jesus!"
many variations of the same instrumental genius
These 'muh "fuhs DO NOT!!! get the credit they deserve!!! SOOO F***ING underated!!.....🤬 Ohh and... 'dim pipes dough'! WHAT???!!! 😲 Idk if this guy can ever get winded!?! He's probably STILL puufin on that "harpoon" as we..... ..Read! LOL🤣
youtube is fucking with me lately, half the vids I click don't play sound ffs. Wondering if its just me.
Harmonic key?
I think the song is in the key of B, played on an E harmonica. There might be alternate versions though.
Bobby and Billie Sheehan have got to be related some how. Cant find any info but there is no way 2 guys named Sheehan that are that good on the bass aren't related somehow.
Lmao this is not how I imagined blues traveler would look when I heard their music
Is he wearing a Katana?!
Check out 4:06
Lol it's something. I've heard things about Mr. Popper. They all make me smile. And so does his music. And this is classic gold.
Hugs to all y'all! And rip Bob!
Popper was fat and Bobby was alive. That's how I'll remember BT
