I am the captain of weird as I live next to a walking path. It is 1.5 miles around. Since i do not like to run I fill a wheelbarrow with 2-100 lb sandbags and wheelbarrow them around the 1.5 path. After doing it 4 days a week for 1 year i am able to make 1 trip around without stopping. My grip is buring the last 100 yards or so. My forearms are thick and vascular now.
you're a chad man haha what an awesome way to do cardio
@@johnnydeefan8807 like all ground around a pound is it uneven so you go up and down. It really challenges your core. Yes, I was gased. Initially I went in 100 meter sections. I would walk 100 meters. Sit the wheelbarrow down until I was done gasping for air. I am a more fit powerlifter now.
wow great idea i could do that as well
of course the weight s would vary
😀
awesome what a good idea
I live on a steep hill (gotta love SF lol) in a residential area. My neighbors 10000% think I am a crazy man. They often see me sprinting up the hill, or doing farmer carries with sand bags or med balls all the time.
I used to live next to a park that had a monster hill, was incredible for sprints. I moved to a neighborhood that’s relatively flat now. Enjoy that hill my friend, you’ll miss it dearly if you ever move away!
Yeahhhhhh!!!!🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿
Hey if you visit Seattle again I'd recommend the Burke-Gilman trail, Volunteer park, and Discovery park
Bro, I go through the same stuff daily. When I'm travelling for work I walk until I find a nice hill to run sprints on, people look at me like I'm crazy. Thanks for the great vids man, don't give af about what others say, stay on track! God bless.
I enjoy Mark's videos because I think that we can always learn something from his opinions and experiences, we don't have to agree or disagree on everything
Great vibe, inspiration, love to learn from you my man!
Appreciate the video, your knowledge, your journey and mostly importantly your honesty. You have been impactful in many lines including mine. Thanks Mark!!!
Love your honesty 👍🏼
Awesome mark .. top job
I was actually thinking about this the other day. Weird is a term usually used by people to describe things that are different from them. If thats the case every superhero is weird anybody who is a champion is weird to most people and successful or happy people might seem weird to people who are sad and lost. Weird how thats works huh
Preach bro 🙏
Like the word alien meaning stranger. Great note
Nice job Mark, helping lots of people with these videos..
Wierd is part of life, older age man boobs or fast and furious face when I’m running fast but actually it turns out when videoed it looks really slow!🤣😂🤣
Now I run in the dark 🤣😂🤣
I train hill repeats or intervals like gym sets, do next set when I feel good again
I even do similar style intervals sets to the gym, 15 sets of different speeds and distances is fun or whatever sets you like..
No pressure, just enjoy 😊
PS You look very toned up 👍
Great work man 👏
Thanks for the video
My wife and I will be doing hill sprints tomorrow 😊
Good message at the end.
Hill running is good for a lot of things and it doesn't have to be sprinting. Main things are cardio (zone 3-5), improved running form (because you're forced to lift your legs higher and swing your arms) and it is easier on the joints than running on even ground because your'e hitting the ground with less force.
Love hill sprints. Just getting back into low intensity cardio. Ill get back to sprinting soon enough
Never weird always insirational
Kudos to the cameraman! 👍🏻
Im 55 and walk to the paved park a couple blocks away and sprint. Living in Florida with no hills near me❤
I hate this 😂
I can imagine the deep breaths of the car exhaust, definitely not ideal for the lungs. Probably best to do these hill climbs where it's less polluted, or early in the morning when there are less cars on the road. Personally i'd save hill runs for the outback/forest or rural areas, and just avoid congested areas altogether, maybe just do nasal breathing exercises in city areas.
Some of these comments are ridiculous.
Keep up with these videos. Very inspirational!!
Well it was 30° up here in the mountains of PA yesterday and it was snowing and blowing and I was still outside grounding in my shorts for more than 10 minutes using my mace and as long as there is grass exposed, even if it's surrounded by snow, I'm still out there. You guys in California have no idea what cold is hahaha
Next time you’re here, hmu. I live in Ballard close to downtown.
You look cute in the dana lyn bailey pants Mark
Mark, should watch out for that car at 5.28 that was almost going to move on the street😅 please take care 🙏
Mark you shoulda placed a bench and start repping 500
Not gon lie I suck at running im same spot over and over again, My mind needs to be occupied with road works or run in the woods
Somebody watched Sally McRae :)
I wish I could run hills… But they wreck my Achilles tendons
There's something on your hat
It's weird going backwards yet idc
True; don't worry about looking weird. But unless you're weird by nature, you have to do something to earn the right to do weird stuff and be comfortable with that.
You're recommending old overweight people start running hills?
Imagine the toll on Mark's heart carrying at least 60-70lbs of unnecessary extra mass while trying to do running workouts?! He's approaching middle age & wants to be a runner. Ego won't let him drop the bulk😢
Look out for shit on the streets of Seattle
Huffing & puffing after 2 short, slow 50 yard hill jogs?! Sad. Drop 50lbs of lard brother
Too high impact. Why strain your heart and body like this for no benefit?
You can't be serious.
@getalonghome 100% serious. Zero health benefit especially at this guys age with his joints. Only someone severely depressed would be trying to kill their body following this. OK maybe if your a pro athlete getting paid millions of dollars to prematurely age yourself and shorten your life span obviously you have to do performance training as such to compete with other monkeys. You can't be serious getalonghome, I mean. We both just watched a salesmen who couldn't even function under their own endocrine system from birth if his life depended on it and your asking me if im serious? Ask yourself if at any point of human civilization if early inhabitants enaged in this nonsense other then in the 21 century for capitalism and financial gain. The answer will always be NO. Humans locomote and move with their brains. Their brains are what stop them from doing nonsense like this. Survival of the fittest has turned into fools of the fittest. Are you serious about waking up? This guy will be lucky to live to 50 if he keeps this up this slave for pay routine.
