I want to correct you. Its not Indian team that told we want to play in Guyana. Broadcasters wanted India game to be day match for audience. Hence they are playinn in Guyana. (Infact Indian team has opposed for these day games)

Even Kenya had once reached the semi-finals of the 50-over World Cup, which is a more tougher format. Afghanistan has performed decently, but they have benefited from favorable conditions and some luck and also poor pool system in this worldCup,... . If South Africa plays to their merits, it will be hard to defeat them in the semi-finals.

@DownthetrackbyRS I gave them as an example that Afghanistan has not played outstandingly. It has happened in the past in ICC tournaments.....such unexpected things usually happen. It's just the format, conditions, poor pool scheduling, some luck, etc., that favored Afghanistan to an extent. Our Indian media is celebrating Afghanistan's win as they are seen as rivals to Pakistan. Even the Afghanistan team n their PR tries to pretend to be rivals when they play against Pakistan to please Indians. Poor cricket fans n social media warriors have no idea that Pakistan helped them in their the initial period. Supporting Afghanistan on this parameter is wrong, which Indian media and social media warriors are trying to do.

Indian team has neither requested for that stadium or even happy with morning marches.
Match venue and Timings are decided by ICC (and only point talen in consideration is Broadcasters’ profit) There is pressure from Broadcasters/Sponsors to keep in mind Indian Audiences/watch prime time. Hence morning matches (which are more draining )

BCCI has direct benefit from the broadcaster unlike any other team for the World Cup. Not every broadcaster can change the timing or the venue but India did and that’s the point we made.
