Pretty much every single Translink bus in Canada has either one of these on the front, or a lift on the back. Funny how it's a commodity everywhere else...

I think that bus is the best for wheelchair users. Our buses has ramps in front door. and it is hard for wheelchair users to boarding with the wheelchair right by the driver seat. We need to makes these kind of that buses. it is the BEST bus than one that we uses....

    1. box doesn't get in the way, closing the door does help prevent problems though. 2. the family of the person in the wheelchair goes on with them to ensure the whole party will get on that bus ..they wait in a separate area than the rest of the que

    Dear Jess.,
    Thanks for your response.
    .
    Thanks for all your information.
It is interesting to see how differently bus companies make wheelchair users access the bus.

because people are usually tired, plus I think it might help the driver see better, as the roadways around Walt Disney World are more like a rural area instead of in a city. Less lights

Just like NYC board the person in the wheelchair, and everyone else bum- rushes the bus. Like the bus is going to disappear

First of all, we are not trained like that. First, the w/c comes on the bus with a companion , "IF NEEDED". No one else comes on the bus until the driver is done strapping. Then, you ask "FAMILY?". Only 6 people with the wheelchair included are allowed. When loading through the front door, if you see a stroller, you ask the guest to please fold it, and you "DO NOT" touch the kid.

Was this particular bus ever used in public transit or was it used for Disney transport its entire career?

    • @hunterneitzel3012
      @hunterneitzel3012 Před rokem

Disney transportation for it's entire career, no previous owner. If you're wondering this bus is a 40 foot gillig low floor(advantage). Can't see road number so I don't know what model year it is likely between 2004-2010. Disney world's newest buses are 2019 gilligs. At the time this was recorded, Disney also had some 2000-2002 novabus lfs's, but they are completely different from the gilligs. Fun fact: Walt Disney world buses when they are out of service will sometimes have the name of a predetermined character on the destination board, other times they'll put up other signs like "VIP cast member"or "training", or "earning my ears", sometimes they'll say something like "zone [insert number here]" not to be confused with unmarked shuttle buses that also us the park bus terminals

so the driver can see the road...same reason you can't drive in a car with your interior light on. city buses may leave the lights on, but Disney isn't going to take chances with their guests.

MrBusfreakinnsbruck It is mechanic, the bus driver just grabbed on to it and pushed it down when it automatically came down. Trust me, I seen them and they are mechanic.

That gray metal electric control box looks to be in a bad position, in relation to the handle bars.
If you had to grab onto the handle bar to aid entering the bus the gray nmetal bos may be in the way.
Also, those passengers who entered oughtn't to have been allowed to do so while the ramp is in the position for wheelchair users to enter the bus; those passenger must wait untill the front door is opened, which is where non-wheelchair using passengers must enter.
    .
    Cheers.
    from,
    del-boy.
