Growing up in the area that has amount of interracial families in Indonesia, i didn't know things like this exist. Or maybe Indonesians are careless of this kind of stuff but, in the west seem really a problem. My grandpa from my dad's side was Arab, and Dutch from my mom's side. Fyi, Indonesia was colonized by the Netherlands for more than 350 years, and it's been 79 years since we gained our independence, many years later than the end of black slavery in the US. But Indonesians almost never talk about how our grand/great parents suffered during those times and blame the whites. We never forget it, but at the same time we realise that we live in the recent time not in the past anymore. All we can do is moving forward to the bright future, we have no time to talk about white people and their colonization.
In Australia, we are getting what I call voluntary segregation, where groups, including indigenous, want things for themselves separate from us "Invaders". (A title I will accept if they are willing to accept being called "The Vanquished")

I appreciate this. Grew up in a small town where white people are 'the minority', but wouldn't have changed my upbringing.
