To me, jazz always evokes a feeling of a yearning for something unattainable, or nostalgia for something that never was, like being at a place similar to the cover picture.
I can imagine myself in that place of the cover picture. It's such a nice place, and everyone is relaxed. The time doesn't matters. Its only us and the night.

Since everyone is sharing the image that comes up when listening to this music, I'll do the same. I love to imagine myself in a dark bar where there's people smoking, but without the annoying smell of smoke, and people drinking, but quietly: everyone absorbed by their own thoughts, all brought together by this music and a subtle breeze that comes everytime someone enters the bar. Outside it's raining, maybe snowing, but there's a fresh wind that makes it all magic.
All there, all alone in our minds, so close but so far away.

I've been coming back to this video since my senior year of high school. Something about this music brings me such a profound sense of nostalgia and childlike happiness. Now, I'm almost 30, grandparents both passed on since then, my parents have gotten older, and a strong sense of adulthood is upon me. Sometimes I feel as if I'm not ready for it all, so I come here to go back; and even if for a fleeting moment, it feels good to be 17 again.
I was just reminiscing while listening to this and stumbled upon your comment. I feel the same as you do! cheers!

This gave me peace in my hardest moments. Studying to become a teacher, failing and trying again and losing somebody I loved forever. I’ll continue to return to meditate on the past. One day I’ll be old and remember this amazing piece of work and the freedom it provided. Thank you, brilliant piano player.

I was a fortunate one............I lived in Ohio in the 60's which was a 18 year old state to go to the bars. I got into these establishments when I was 16. One of my first vists I saw Oscar Peterson........I have been stuck in this genre ever since.

I always come back to this video! I can't find this exact playlist on Apple Music. I listened to this on repeat while binge reading Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul Re: back in 2015. time flies!
now the music is extremely nostalgic of that time in my early twenties. I'll always cherish the happy memories and the calmness of those days, when I actually had the time and peace to sit down by myself and read manga. Now i have a wife and child and my own bills to pay.
This playlist is a treat.
Music is one of the only things in my life that has helped me be okay with being alone. Listening to this gives me a weird feeling that thinks about every person who spends their nights with themselves and their thoughts. Jazz brings out that feeling in me. Just seeing something as simple as watching the cars go past on the road, or seeing streetlights light up the night. It makes me feel safe. Even with whatever thoughts I have.
It's hard to not feel alone, especially in the times we're in. But it's better to sit back and enjoy the time we have rather than worry. To anyone who likes to spend their weekends in and alone, I get it.

When I was 12 I arrived at the Singapore international airport. To me, this was probably the best place that I have ever been to in my life. I didn't know what was so special about this place that made me feel this way. The place was very nice and clean. But I do remember the soft piano playing and echoing throughout the whole airport. As a 12 year old, I was never really never interested in that type of music. I was more into those cringe dubstep songs and electronic music. But ever since those few hours at that airport, I became so interested in piano and soft music. Now that I constantly go back to this video, all I can think of is those relaxing times at singapore airport.

Jazz music creates this feeling of peace and love. I can imagine listening to this in a cozy room in the arms of my husband and the fire place lit. And feeling his warm breathe on my skin and his masculine scent wafting in the air and just being at peace.
this brings a visual to mind. a young man, about 21, in late December, the 26th to be exact, he standing outside near time square, its snowing, its bright, the sky is lit up and colored by the lights coming from the buildings, and Christmas lights. he's wearing a long grey coat, scarf and beanie. he's alone, not a person in sight. he stands there looking over his shoulder, a quite mind yet filled with emptiness. not sadness but emptiness. the camera zooms out making him shrink. smaller and smaller. he disappears int to the light pollution. its the end of the world and he's the only one left. alone, in nyc the day after Christmas, nobody to turn off the lights, just him. he doesn't know it yet but the world is empty, like the pit in his stomach.

At an alone table you sit in a crowded bar, everyone gathered at their own problems and you with your own. Taking a sip of the beverage in front of you, you lean back in your comfy couch-like seat and wonder if life could always be like this. The tune of the soft piano whispering in your ear as you mind your own business, clearing out your filled mind to the jazzy atmosphere of the bar you are in.
Life could always be like this.
But it chose not to be.
I’ve been playing piano for 4 years and hope to be this good some day so what I imagine when I hear this, is me...playing at a small coffee shop...it’s raining outside the sky is grey and it’s autum... there’s a cool breeze outside as drive leaves get swept through the air...a beautiful girl walks through the door to get out of the rain.... a bell rings when she steps inside.... she takes a seat in the back by the window.... she orders a coffee and as it arrives she takes a sip and looks me in the eyes....I don’t look away....the shop is packed but silent.... I’m playing only for her...time slows down.... she smiles as the takes a sip..I smile back...warmly...her brown eyes shimmer in the reflection of the warm yellow light she’s sitting under...her golden brown hair flows in the breeze as someone open the door....the steam coming off her coffee fogs her glasses...she cleans them and continues to listen to the smooth piano I play...and in that moment time stops...the piano continues to play as I walk towards her..I sit down next to her and ask her name....the music fades... “scene.”
That’s what I think of😅 this was all completely on the spot. But it makes me happy to think of my future some day.

It's raining and you have a sultry glass of red wine in your hand watching the cars quietly pass below you. Sitting under a table umbrella in the 20's, you take in the smell of the fall rain on the asphalt. That sounds nice right now

@@nicolasnewcomb8514 That's not really how jazz works. Improv, while not being entirely random, is not supposed to be written down beforehand. Otherwise it is not improv. Also the time is rubato and it has a slight swing feel. It wouldn't come out the way it sounds if it were put to paper. Seeing that you are asking for sheet music, I assume you play piano; in which case you should get a book or jazz instructor to teach you solo piano, that way you can start to understand the improv cliches and basics to understand what he is doing, then do it yourself. All the best luck in your musical journey.
This kind of music it reminds me when i was 18 years old, 28 years ago my first job in Cafe Au Lait (steak house), The steak house was dark room and a candle light with a Piano music or sometimes played jazz, while drinking their wine and talking softly, specially the partners who private dating, very romantic.

I think I started listening to this album back when I was living (stationed)in Germany(Wiesbaden)2014. I would host nights in my barracks room with a couple of guys n this playing on the TV screen.
Smoke from good cigars would fill the room. Low conversations and laughter would fill the room like a thick smoke. 15 to 20 yr old aged whiskey would be sipped on n the convos would be centered around how to be a better man father husband career advice (Army). Rank didn’t play a factor here just a love for whiskey n smooth jazz. I still come back to this, Now married Living in Texas now a husband n having a child of my own. Life sure does move but it’s beautiful when you can participate in its passage
I can imagine me and my gorgeous lady by my side, walking hand-in-hand by a pond in a quiet park, on a gorgeous moonlit night, hearing crickets chirping around us, as a gentle breeze brushes at our faces, and moves her beautiful brown locks, without a care in the world.
This playlist accompanied me during my uni days, finishing assignments, late at night, up until 4 to 5 am-ish, always on-loop. Until I lost it on my history, and it recommended again to me today, still remembering the red artwork of the playlist. Oh how the time flies... when I listen to jazz, I imagine a dark, cold temperature room, with spotlight on the band. just whisky on the glass. people there didn’t talk, they just vibe, someone sleeping laying his head on the table. everyone at the bar have a feeling or hunch that the bar will be closed soon because it is out of date, something classic about the bar makes them wanna stay even longer, scared for death that they might not be able to vibe anymore. in the end, the music blends the collective mood and anxiety into unique atmosphere, and everyone have peace at last
For one moment, we forget about all the problems and pretend the world is cool and we're in a good place.

People all the way back in the 1970's have already been listening to the best Lofi around in their local Jazz Club.
I think of myself, relaxed in an underground bar, at the top of the world. I've accomplished all my goals; helped as many people as possible, paved the path of success for my people, now I'm just kicking back... Reminiscing on the old days in which I worked so hard. I'm chilling with other people, people I grew up with, people who I have seen grow and flourish after following the peaking light we let out after opening those doors. Sipping on the finest champagne with all my brothers other than John, the youngest, who seemed to prefer drifting off in the heart snatching scents of the underground bar's ladies.

During my first year of medical school, I worked one night a week in a restaurant with a piano bar, with a pianist who played music similar to this for five hours straight. His music was pure escape for me, and helped to keep me centered.

Oh my god I can't believe that youtube brought me here again. I actually had a unique story with this song.
First time I heard this song was around on high school and I was on this music course where I had an amazing teacher.
I remembered searching this song because he told me to dig into jazz as a special assignment because he said I would love it and fit in jazz style music. Turns out I really do love jazz, and remember this is the first song that came across me.
This music teacher I had was not only teaching us music, but also teaching me valuable lessons about life. At the course there usually like a 15 or 30 minutes session where he would just ask how things have been in our school and all and giving us all advices how to get through it.
He teaches us so many things like how to believe in ourselves, to have a vision , and invests not only for our self value but also our money. Seriously this guy literally teaches us about stocks, businesses, and ways to earn money by doing things that we love, that us many high schoolers was far from even thinking about it.
Well, he never brags that he is rich, but as I remember he always treats us with drinks and sometime snacks at almost every of our meetings. But there is this one time I remember that he asked me to went out
with him to grab a food. I ask why, and he answered because this is the first day of muslim fasting and he wanted to treat me at the end of the day. I was shocked, not only because he chose an expensive restaurant but also the fact that he is a christian. We talked about some personal stuff and that's when I learned that he actually is the real deal, and that he teaches on our course only for the fun of it.
Sadly, one day he never appeared in our class anymore. With no goodbyes, or at least an end speech.
Later we found out that he somehow got into this scandal at our course where some of the student's phone gone missing while they were on break time on his class (including my phone). All of the staff and management blame him for it and decided to cut him off. But before that happens he handed his resignation letter.
Me and the other student never believe that he was the one behind it (Even the other guys who lost their phone). Because when we asked the staff for prove there's actually none. We wanna checked the security camera with the staff, but the staff always insists "there is nothing". And adding to that, the staff literally ask us to bring our phone's box for "investigation". Some of us handed it over, but after that nothing comes out.
Not long after, me and the other students decided to quit the course because there were just too many things that went off.
We have tried contacting his number, search for his social media on many platforms, and nothing. He just vanished after that moment. We have lost someone that is very dear to us.
Today, me and the other students have been doing great. Some of them actually make it to become musician, and some of them doing have been doing fine.
Me personally never make it to become a musician, but I personally been doing great. I already got my college degree and currently working on a job that I love and planning to build my own business in a few year. And all of that happens because this one person.
My gosh, how time flies. I can't express how grateful I am that faith brought me here and all the things that have passed. Thank you very much for the uploader, this music really had so much meaning and had me in tears.

Sitting next to this carefree girl I fancied in middle school. With a toothy smile, she would tell me how she loved Jazz while her head swayed from side to side.
Slow jazz cures many a emotional ailment. Slowed down even more brings content.
Ever time I hear this I always imagine being in a Café where everyone having a good time not worry about anything and enjoy the moment. The laughing blend in with the music which make it more magical sounds of chess being played next to me and I walk to them and ask to joy. It felt very nostalgic. Some taking their own time and lost in their mind. While some take their partner out on a date. While the music play new people comes in the subtle winds flow through me the sound of rain outside make it more magical. It’s felt very nostalgic. One day maybe long from now I will open a place like this.

The autumn wind drifts past me and the sun sets in the distance, giving off a not so dull glow peaking over the horizon.
My steps echo through the street as the crunch of leaves can be heard from them. A car passes me, it's engine humming loudly. For a brief moment, a young lady flashes me a smile through the backseat window and it warms my soul a bit. The wind is colder now and biting so I cover my ears with my hood and put my hat back on. A few people across the way walking stare at me in confusion and persecution of what to them is a bizarre thing to do. I shrug to myself about how people are so concerned with their image that they'd even be confused by what's practical and continue along.
Coming to a pier, the twilight dances from the horizon like a child that isn't quite willing to go to bed yet, slowly tucking in more and more into it for the night. I light up a smoke and take a long drag as the moon emerges and she sets her steely gaze on the world. But in that moment, it's like she's staring only at me.
a boardwalk cafe on a rainy day, few guests. a young man leans on the counter, waiting for customers and enjoying the soft, mildly melancholic jazz his wife plays on the old upright by the bay window at the front.
I would listen to this video on repeat when I was studying for college, sitting in Dominican Joe's on SoCo Austin, TX. I owe my degree and future success to that place and the concentration these tracks afforded me. DJs was sold in 2018 and SoCo changed drastically. I moved away and don't recognize Austin anymore, but I'll always have the memories of sitting in the cafe studying early mornings on the weekends.
Just imagine myself dress up in light brown jacket suit, ware a light brown fedora, walking toward to the beautiful jazz piano sound form the bar next block. I take my hat off, sit down in front of the bartender, "Whisky on the rock for me, Please." I said and then turn myself to the pianist who magically stuck everyone's eyes on him.
ive been listening to this album since at least 2014, and i recognized the first track the second it started in john wick 3. nothing brings me the kind of euphoria these songs do, im so thankful for all the wonderful times ive spent with this alongside me♥️
Jazz is Such smooth sensual music when your feeling down it picks you up, when tired it relaxes the whole body with a glass of chilled wine to add.

No matter how bad things can get it will be okay at some point, all you gotta meanwhile is focus on the good things you have and fight for them and even if you feel like there’s nothing left there’s always something, even if it’s yourself.
Life eventually gets rough or stressful but you have the power to make good things happen and get yourself up because i believe you are a strong person and you are loved so just never give up. Our time here is short so you must be grateful so you can enjoy and appreciate the little things that are around u because unfortunately nothing lasts forever.
Also take care of yourself, you deserve it and so does your body that even if you don’t appreciate enough you are still capable of doing many things with the capacities it gives u when some others are not able to.

I used to listen to this song then i heard it in John Wick's movie. What a beautiful coincidence.
When i listen to jazz i imagine myself in a place like the cover pic with a girl i love so much, it's winter and at the midnight ,we drink coffee and smoke from the same cigar, we are sitting at the corner in that place next to each other, my arm is around her neck, we are quiet we are just listening to the music. Details are everything!
Back in 2015 when I was a sophomore in high school, we were assigned to read '1984' by George Orwell. Anybody familiar with that book understands how raw that book can get. And I remember when I got the book I wanted to listen to some music that in my head would fit in with the book's tone. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong, but this video's music felt right to me at the time. I felt that it fitted in thematically and I still feel the same way. Cheers. :)
