There's people in my community (those are people who reached multiple legends, play silph and have a huge ego) hating PvPoke and all its features, but I think it's very solid once you know how it works and what are the principles behind it. It helped me a lot in understanding PvP better and its mechanics. It obviously isn't perfect, but when you realize it, you can work around its weaknesses and "optimize" it to have the best results possible out of it.
I'm still not super sharp with team building and most of my teams have been broke by new additions to the game (for example araquanid in the back, which destroyed my nido, DD and umbreon). A rule I've learnt is that you should always build a team based on what you see being played the most in that particular period of time and adjust according to it.
Also since I've gotten better at the game, I've started to be put against lots and lots of ex legend players (I reached expert before interlude season) and that's always good practice. If those people are not running some boring or overused team, I like to copy that and try it myself. I'm 100% convinced that getting practice with different, all well built teams, is crucial into finding something that works for you and you enjoy playing. I would suggest that too

Just wondered is there a way to search for what pokemon share the same moves on PVPOKE? I know there is the section that says "moves" and it lists the moves, the damage etc but I can't for the life of me find a way to search on that site. Let's say I want to know which pokemon use "ACID" is there a way to do that?f

I do this a lot as well and I agree it works really well. Pvpoke is the biggest help ngl but doing this for one's personalised strategy is I think the best help one can give oneself. Because a few Pokemon could be meta for a season but the actual most commonly used Pokémon in the "field" could differ week after week even within the same league and depending on your elo which mostly isn't static.
