It is time to find a good bible teaching church that preaches the gospel. Leaving Gateway would not be leaving Christ.

It would be like leaving an abusive relationship because it has been an abusive relationship.

I agree that leaving Gateway would not mean leaving Christ and in order to stay with Christ one doesn’t have to leave Gateway. Yes, Gateway was birthed by the vision of Robert Morris, but it’s not his church. It’s a body of Christ and now the body has to heal and restore. Just like when your arm is hurting you don’t automatically ask it to be cut off. And this is different from being in an abusive relationship. We are not the victims at the end of the abuse. I would have advised the victim to leave. Some of us weren’t even born when this happened so we will not play the victim card. The important part is to come together as a body and support each other in this difficult time.

@@mrnice111this is different from being in an abusive relationship. The victim could see it that way but Pr. Robert didn’t abuse every single one of the members 40 years ago.

I AGREE WE ALL FALL SHORT IVE BEEN PRAYING HIM AND HIS FAMILY WE LOOK AT GOD AND PRAY FOR HIM AND OTHER PASTORS WERE UNDER SPIRITUAL ATTACK

It seems prayer for the victim would be important. Falling short is a watered down term I think is being thrown around. This is a very serious short coming. Not everything is a spiritual attack. Doesn’t Galatians 5 tells us one of the fruits of the spirits is self control? We have a big part to play and responsibility over our actions and not every thing is demonically driven.

Most people who fall short get through life without being pedophiles.

A sure sign of a demonic person is the sexual abuse of a minor. Gateway was created by a demonic person and the cover-up of his crimes by his staff is horrible. Gateway should dissolve.

all those who shamed him are just as complicit and should leave their careers because they did not pray for him - I saw this in the spirit

This may be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Morris made his choice to nail a 12 year old.

So Robert, are you saying that Robert Morris sexually abused a 12 year old girl because we did not pray for him? Oh and that I should quit my job?

I’m sorry but gateway needs to just disappear. There’s too much damage JUST IN THIS ONE STORY. The association between gateway, Robert and his molestation will never go away. Shut it down, disband, and EVERY SINGLE LEADER needs to go through a legit Bible seminary, and not repeat the same theological extreme errors that were made by Robert, along with the sexual abuse. Might I add spiritual abuse as well.

I think Gateway handled this very poorly. They fell for the accusations of the evil one. They should have all met on stage, confessed and took communion, and pronounced forgiveness, and Robert should have continued preaching. What he did decades ago, because he came to Jesus back then, was forgiven. He had amended his ways. He is forgiven. Stop submitting to the accusations and false guilt from the devil who is the accuser of the brethren. He's a liar. We are forgiven in Christ. Stand in that or you are backsliding in your faith. Ding ding.

@@justbrowsing8675no joking here. Robert is (not was) a money hungry narcissist who consistently lied about the Bible, tithing, the Holy Spirit and quite literally almost everything he ever spoke about, including calling a 12 year old girl a “young lady” and his molesting her being a “moral failure”. He’s always given me bad vibes, and now I realize even more so now that it wasn’t just because he lied about tithing.
