Ooh I really encourage you to try again with Agatha Christie. I actually find her writing to be very readable, despite being older. Sheâs a freaking genius when it comes to locked-room mysteries.
Literally me how I was with books when I first started! đ
I secondhand shop all my books and borrow through my local library/Libby on my kindle. Makes it far easier to pass the book along if it ends up being a dud for me.
My local library has a $1 donated book section called, âThe Book Nookâ. I think itâs a great idea!
I read The Hobbit years ago and I couldnât agree more. The whole book just felt like them walking through the woods continuously lol
Great way to fill your shelves and save loads of money! â€đ
Font being too small is a HUGE thing for me. I can't focus on books with super small font.
Even with my good eyesight it hurts my eyeballs.. and brain lol
Iâm a paperback lover too!!! I feel like most booktubers prefer hardback!! đ€Ł
The bear and the nightingale and the rest of the books in that trilogy are just really really good would highly recommend
I think you'd really like Half a Soul! It's cute, funny, whimsical, heartwarming and so wholesome!
I agree!!
I loved that you discussed overconsumption! Iâve decided to try to borrow books from my library first before purchasing to see if Iâll even enjoy them! If I decide to buy a book, Iâll either buy it secondhand (PangoBooks, throwing, half price books) or go to a local bookstore
Yay, I love to heart thatđ€©
The bear and the nightingale is book 1 in a trilogy.
Awww Bear and the Nightingale. That was a booktube darling back in the day.
Ah thank you for mentioning Thrift Books! Didnât know that was a thing :)
So excited for you to read The bear and the nightingale and Half a soul! I hope you enjoy them!
I wish we had good second hand bookstores here too, or free little libraries
hi! i had the same struggle with agatha christie books and tbh what helped me is just listening to the audiobooks đ so maybe that could work if you really wanna get to them that is bahaha đ
I definitely feel pressure to buy lots of books. I will be using your rules to help budget myself! So thank you so much for sharing :)
I love these types of videos they feel like ft hahah also, loveeee that shirt!!!
I love Blake Crouch Dark Matter is my favorite then Recursion and then Upgrade. Iâve also read Other Birds itâs a fluffy book regarding grief at least thatâs what I took from it. Loved the characters
Great haul đ§đđđđ
I feel you so much on font size. Especially as my eyes age (Iâm 45) I find it harder and harder to read any physical books really because of that. Kindle has saved me with the ability to increase the font size of any book!
I love your videos â€. I lived in USA 4 years and I don't have no body to talk in english with. I understand you and I learn. I am from Spain. I would ask you if you know another booktuber american that speak no so quickly, I will apreciate. Love â€
Adrienne Young is one of my favorite authors! Sky in the Deep is so good!!
I recently read Gallant by V. E. Schwab and it is one of her YA books. Amazon has it tagged as teen and young adult dark fantasy. Itâs a little creepy but not scary. But I absolutely loved it!
I loved Sky in the Deep!
I absolutely adore the Skyward series although the Skyward Flight novellas arenât the best, they do have some interesting things to add so I would suggest you donât skip them (library maybe?) Just out of interest, what is it you donât like about hardbacks? Iâm mainly a digital reader but do get hardback copies of the books I adore like Skyward. I have recently been getting some paperbacks in sales though but I did buy the complete Lady Trent series at full price in Waterstones (uk version of Barns ish) on a double point weekend đ
If you're in a mood for magical realism, you have to give author Stephanie Erickson a try. She writes magical realism meets RomCom and it's just so much fun! I highly recommend her books June Nights and March Hair.
FAITH have you been to Canary Books in Nampa or Shared Stories in Caldwell?
Youâve got to check them both out, theyâre brand new and so so cute. Canary is used books & Shared Stories is full price, but they are both independently owned & the owners are so sweet. Definitely worth the little drive from Boise to check out!
Omg no I havenât but I will now!!! Thank youđ€©
Stupid question...do people really buy books they think they may not like??
I think sometimes people just buy books based off covers or books they think they MIGHT like so Iâm just trying to buy only books I know I WILL likeđ
@@faithsreadingthings Got it!
Wow thank you for introducing me to the Kindle daily deals, I feel a little dumb for not knowing that đđ«¶đ»
Honestly itâs not something thatâs really broadcasted so I didnât know about it either till someone else told međ
