Let’s talk about lupus and hair loss in women.
This space is about spreading lupus awareness. I also talk about the connection between trauma and chronic illness. I share some information I’ve learned from living with lupus. I was diagnosed with lupus in February 2020. I still have a lot to learn and would like to learn from you if you’ve had the illness much longer. I use this space to share resources and insights I've found helpful along the way. Just came across your channel while searching for info on my recent diagnosis. I’ve experienced all the things you’ve discussed in this and other videos. I’ve discussed for the past 3yrs my symptoms and haven’t been met with the proper attention. I decided, AGAIN, to find a new Dr who was finally worth their salt. It’ssooOO important to find a Dr who wants to do the deep dive based on your concerns. If you’re not comfortable or feels your Dr is listening to you, FIND A NEW DR. I have lupus I found out that I had it when I got in my 40s my mother had lupus which caused her hair to fall out and her skin to peel in the pet of a butterfly on her face my hair has fallen out and the little that was left I just cut it all off and I keep it cut out lol I do wear lace front wig that is my go to here now but some days I get so depressed about it having to put a wig or a lace front can be depressing sometimes because you want to wear your own hair I really do love the information that you put out it keeps me informed about my lupus I do have all three lupus but I am doing real good with my lupus too trying to do right by my body knowing that my body is fighting against me I’ve always been a very strong strong physical person but some days my body just don’t even feel like it’s doing right at all and that can be depressing too but overall I just think God that I’m still living I’m still here and I’m able to share my story with some one like you who has the same thing makes me feel very comfortable Thank you thank you for sharing all of your videos I actually do follow you this is actually the first time I really haven’t left a comment I’m keeping you and me and anyone else who has lupus in my prayers God bless you and keep sharing🥰🥰🥰

Wow I can’t even imagine how hard that must have been. How did you get your confidence back after losing your hair?
Basically acceptance. I made peace with it and realized by spirit was more grand than my body. I also embraced how fun it can be to wear a wig and try on different looks.
My hair fell out as well from lupus 😢

The mirror really hurts with that masculine look when I shave my head. I can't handle wigs at all because the material and heat irritates my skin.
