Good thing humans have the ability to act outside of our base instincts. The argument that men must appeal to superficial women (or vice versa) because it’s “human nature”, is an appeal to nature fallacy.

@@chrisbruhe Providing isn't just about money since money can't always buy security. It's also about safety, support during pregnancy, and empathy. These are softer things that women with real self esteem are also looking for and the redpill never mentions, even more than money (beyond the basics, such as paying your own bills). It is NOT natural for a woman to want to stay at home and a man to pay for everything himself. Men aren't naturally designed to be capitalism slaves, just like women aren't.

I agree that bettering yourself is a lot more than getting a good body or getting money. But it's a solid base to get fitter and healthier, you probably cut out bad habits such as eating junk food, smoking or drinking. Idk what ur situation is but the best thing to do is doing stuff that you love that doesn't negatively effect ur health.

    This mentality is terrible -
Hitting the gym isn’t about getting abs or buff - it’s the result of it. But it teaches discipline. It’s HARD to wake up and go to the gym - it’s HARD to push your body past its limits. It’s also been linked to be therapeutical which is why people associate it to therapy. If you’re pissed or depressed I 100 percent promise you that if you do 100 push ups and go sprint / run a mile that emotion will subside. What’s the other solution lay in bed and be mad or just eat or succumb to pleasure and be mad / depressed.
Also the reason why men push to be “successful “ is because unfortunately for the most part many women look for a partner who they can see will provide for them / their kids.
You also have one body why not take care of it ?
This mentality is dangerous and pushes you to be contempt with your situation- the irony is he’s using “mass media” “corporate” words as a way to push his outlook. He’s right you don’t have to push yourself to be better but what’s the msg - don’t stride to be better mentally , physically , emotionally ? Then uses movies and compares real life to exaggerated CHARACTERS in movies??? Guys- he’s talking the complete extreme to push his agenda. It’s about balance as well. He then mentions how going to the gym won’t “fix his current situation” now the gym won’t fix a flat tire or if you’re broke . Again it’s been scientifically proven to be linked to assist mental health- teaches discipline which is essential in life in all aspects. What’s crazy is he notices theirs a problem - and instead of pushing for other solutions just tells himself that those solutions won’t work because he feels they won’t work

@@darkseason96 Going to the gym doesnt mean you will get a girlfriend and many girls are attracted to different builds but using 15 year olds/ kids as a basis for how your sexual/ relationship life should be as a grown man is just wrong. If you want to use that as a comparison everyone in highschool knows that wether your 13 or 17 years old girls would tend to gravitate towards, the athletes, funny guys, tall guys, good looking guys or popular guys. Based off that women chose their partner on attributes that are associated with strength (tall, athletic) or statues (funny, popular) no women has ever said they want to date a guy who doesnt care or nurture his mind or body. Discipline is very important as an adult and discipline was even a factor in highschool in ways you look past- it took discipline to show up to school, it took discipline to study, it took discipline to graduate, it took discipline to go train on that sports team you where on. Theirs different levels of discipline.

Starting my home yoga practice actually did lead to improvement in so many other areas. As I got stronger physically I started cultivating more discipline and confidence. My nexus of control shifted from external to internal as I stopped wondering how I was being perceived in exchange for radical acceptance and gratitude for my place in life. I got more energy, I found myself cleaning more and taking better care of my home and hygiene. As I discovered that I could self-regulate my emotions and lower my stress and sleep peacefully through meditation and exercise, I was able to fully quit smoking weed. When I began to tune into my body and what it was capable of, I was better able to know what it needed and it was easier and natural to prioritize better nutrition and less digital escapism. Slowly after rising to the challenge of practicing over and over my mind started to let go of fear cycles, I found myself asking “why not” instead of “why bother”. I could go on and on. It cost me literally nothing because the mat was secondhand. We all have the chance to save ourselves from ourselves
Edit: oh, and my hair stopped falling out because the poses allow for better blood flow to my scalp

I think it depends on your reasons for engaging in self-improvement.....if you are doing it for your own health and development, it is fine. But if you are doing certain health and wellness things (like gym looks maxing, mewing, etc) purely for acknowledgement from others, or in the hopes it will lead you to success/money/a romantic partner this is not a guarantee of self-improvement practices.
Also, true self-improvement doesn't focus purely on physical aesthetics. You must truly show care for all parts of yourself, including your mental health. Any past emotional trauma that wounded your "inner child" needs to be addressed as well. Ironically, my own looks improved as I focused on therapy work and dealing with the pains of the past. I slept better, ate better, worked better, and treated others better. All of it is connected. I think men (also women) focus on purely one aspect of self-improvement thinking it will fix all their problems. But it is a multifaceted approach. No need to purchase a "plan" from some influencer; all of this can be done on your own
