I think the problem is is that iphones were designed for pleasure and blackberries were for business use. So it is hard to compare the two when both have different purposes.
This right here strikes a chord with me. I have a Blackberry Torch 9810 I just got off Amazon to replace my 7-year-old Blackberry Torch 9810. The thing fits in my pocket. None of the iPhones do. Biggest reason I use my Torch.
John, I know this was a few years ago, but for God's sake, admit the Blackberry Torch was terrible. The scrolling was awful, it was clunky, the apps were unreliable and service was patchy at best, the display was low resolution, the support was dying quicker than anything I'd ever seen besides Web OS, and the call quality didn't exist. The iPhone 4 beat it in every single way.

I absolutely LOVE my BB Torch. I just can't get used to the iPhone virtual keyboard. I now the BB is slower but it does everything I need, gives me the keyboard I want, and the email and other notifications are flawless. I just wish that BB came out more phones so they stayed competitive. Maybe BB10 which comes out in January 2013.
Blackbery is the most lag phone all the way. I love samsung. But now i choose iphone on 2014. Because so smooth. Not lag at all. And the most thing is superb stable. Hehehe

No. The battery life has nothing to do with memory management. It has to do with a low res screen! You are totally wrong, though, Blackberry loses HANDS DOWN!! The UI is AWFUL and the phone is incredibly glitchy! People just need to admit that Blackberry is dead! Even if they made a fantastic phone, it would be too little, too late!
BB - u can drag files to transfer (which is much easier than sync) - supports flash - better email - u can create apps more easily - memory card can be inserted - cheaper

@DarrenB2332 If your iphone spoils, u can just plug it into itunes and restore. They have no way of checking if u've ever jailbroken it and usually they don't check
IOS 5 is comeing out soon witch means the notifications for the iphone are going to come up at the top of the screan just like the torch insted of comeing up in the middle pauseing the thing your doing, so really that round was not fair.

Had the blackberry for a year and its knackered, the touch screen dosent work and it constantly freezes, already been into repair once and came back faulty, not a good buy

Things i think they have to do to improve it my mind, is have to have a better lock. the lock is too easy to open.That button at top can be too easliy touched to unlock the phone, then you are pocket dailing someone . Its heavy too. I had an Iphone in my hand and it was pretty light compared to torch. And as he said the speed of the browser needs to be improved. I think they are a very good phone.

I'm not an Apple Fanboy at all but despite what today's tech offers now, if I were back in 2010 and if these two devices were the only two choices, i'd totally choose the iPhone over the Blackberry. But for me, back in 2010, what I actually did was I chose neither of these OEMs products. I chose Android. I think my first smartphone device was actually in 2010 and I chose the Motorola Droid X. There was no question about it for me. The Android platform was far superior to both Blackberry AND Apple iPhone. However to be honest, before I went full geek over mobile tech i mostly bought Nokias. BUT I did own a Blackberry Pearl before I jumped into the world and era of super phones known as smartphones.
Yea tell me about it! I only use mine for the BBM service and it still lags ! , what makes Apple soo successful is that their devices never lag , i use to have an HTC oneX it was a terrific phone by paper but in real life (to daily use) it sometimes lags! .
I'm not even a businessman and I love my BB. I had an iPhone once, then it got a bit boring. I switched to a BlackBerry Curve, and it was so much better. Then came a Torch 8900, and now I have a Bold 9900. The only advantage I got from my iPhone was that it could play a lot of games (which became un-interesting after about a week) and the browser was great. I will never go back. iPhones are a bit too mainstream too- everyone has one. But if you like following the crowd, nothing else will do.
great and fair comparison I have had the torch for two years... loved it most of the time, though now I keep getting error 603 more often than not, so i think I'm heading to iphone5
@171TITO I've owned three BlackBerries and they've all been fantastic. None of them have ever had recharging issues and the only time my phones ever froze was because of apps or software that had to be updated. I will be getting another BB after this one, only because they're fantastic.
I have that bb and I'm getting the 4s on Wednesday. I had the bb for 10 months and I hated it within 3. The apps are crap and it freezes every 3 seconds
iPhone 3GS is brilliant, it supports all the new software so the only difference in the newer models is slightly faster and different resolutions. I have the 4S upgraded from 3GS and obviously the 4S is better because of things like Siri, tad faster, better display but as far as software goes the 3GS is a really good phone.
I think you should revisit this video when rim an apple had a chance to fix whatever they think is wrong with there phone I think this video should be revisited when iOS 5 comes out and when the blackberry equivalent comes out
I went to look for a new phone today and the man in the shop showed me the new blackberry torch 9610 it has 2, 600 processers totaling 1200mhz the newer torch would beet the i phone 4 and iam getting it when it comes in

You gotta admit the iPhone works better and lags less but at the same time it doesn't have bbm and I like texting on my blackberry so I think a itouch + blackberry = best of both worlds :) if anyone out there is torn between choosing both!
@xk7787 i got it yesterday and it does take some time getting used to but it is fairly simple. you can also turn it side ways which will also flip the keyboard and make the keys bigger. hope that helped!
I have an iPhone and a BB, and I prefer my BB, but I know many people prefer iPhone's. If you want it for games and videos, then use the iPhone. If you want it for emails, social networking, phoning and stuff then use the BB.

Blackberry hit the nail on the head with the new torches and the new bold touch coming out. This is the attention rim needs, and it will turn out much better than the bb storm hype. The new devices are astounding, smooth, simple, multimedia rich, up to date, clean new OS, and even more functional than any blackberry before has ever been. Looking forward to the Bold 9930 launch on Verizon, 4g or not I'm getting it.

5 - 5 dindt work out for me man. I needed a tie braker to decide wich one to buy. But I guess ill take in on the qualities that i use the most.

I do remember a few phone that used a flip out keyboard in portrait view.
Nice review. But.. There are so many more cupboards to open, especially with the iPhone. Though I'm not a fan of touch screen toting.
