Fire Officers move around the brigade chasing promotion so their topography isn't always as good as the fire crew on the pump. In my experience they usually tuck in behind the pump and follow it to the fire. Saves them having to clear the roads also. An obvious decision as there is little point turning up at a job first with no fire fighting gear..just a shiny red car and a radio!
It seems that drivers pay no more attention to 2s & blues than to our red lights & sirens. Besides being firemen, police, & medics, they also have to be professional & stunt drivers. The holiday lights are impressive, to say the least. Nightmare in wonderland!
@harrihealey02 There is a closer fire station (or two) but depending on the fire, there are often more appliances sent other than just those from the nearest station. Also, the appliance in the video is a specialist appliance that carries specialist equipment compared to the normal appliances.
I'm pretty sure London streets are just like a lot of city streets in the US, just driving on the different side of the road.... And I agreed with you about there being nowhere to go at times, I was just saying that a lot of times there are places to go, people just don't know what to do near emergency vehicles.
The Pump Ladder Has The Big Ladder On The Top, Whereas A Pump Hasn't. Some Stations What Have Two Appliances Have A Pump Ladder And A Pump, And Usually The Pump Is The Busier.
I'm impressed how you firemen keep cool - after less than two minutes I think I would have started pushing my way through... Bloody stupid drivers some of them, just sitting there when there's room to move over but no room to pass them.
Why? If people would get out of our way, we could get to calls faster. A lot of the time, there ARE places to go, people are just stupid. They either see us coming but wait until the last second to do something, or just don't notice us until the last second. Trust me, if people weren't as stupid around emergency vehicles, we wouldn't say bad things about them.
yeah but they also don't have nearly as many lights as most US fire engines, they seem to usually have 2 small strobe beacons on the roof and 2 grille lights i would think that makes it hard to find where the sirens are coming from, impressive driving though none the less
What siren does that car behind the truck have? Like the nice low tone hilo it switches to at 3:06 *to clarify, the vehicle following the pump that one of brigade members asks "who`s that behind us?"
@@BlackieFoxxless tysm! EDIT: um unfortunately i checked, thats not the same siren, that is not what the siren was on this little car unless you found a rare version
lisen mate. I dont need some numpty man and a piece of paper to tell me whose the best service, LFB is good im not saying its the best. But thire are brigades better than others.
Yes I though it might have something to do with the ladder on the top. Is there differences in the other types of equipment that the P & PL carry? Why are the pumps busier? thanks Charles
Hi I was wondering if you could tell me what is the difference between a Pump and a Pump Ladder. Presumably one has a better ladder or something but I have studied the physical appearances of pumps and pump ladders and can see no obvious difference. Is there a difference between the type of equipment that each appliance carries and/or the crew for that appliance? thanks Charles
like i said in a previouse comment. I do not need some idiot telling me what is the best fire service. I do not need a report piece of paper. To tell me who the best is. Probably why they try and say its the best. Cos they hardly ever get called out. And when they do they are thire in 5 seconds. im gonna wrap this up. LFB IS THE BEST. STRAIGHT UP
That is the old two tone/DEE....DAAA,not used much now.As an ERD I think he was using it to try and let people know he was about to make a move around them.
Ignore that answer because it is wrong. It's actually called a hi-low. A two-tone is deeper and air powered. Hi-lows are one of four electronic modes on this siren, along with Yelp, Wail and a very feeble beep, jokingly called a Bullhorn. Because a proper bullhorn is air powered and can blast traffic out the way. Watch some New York Fire Department videos if you want to see how effective they can be!
@@YelpBullhorn these FRUs didn’t have a bullhorn, only wail yelp and hi-lo, bullhorns are electric, the Americans use Hadley E-tone or Grover stuttertone air horns
I am so pleased I don't have to drive through London! Have the greatest respect for you guys who have to.
Greetings from a Dutch fire fighter.

Diplomatic police do not need to attend a problem that should be solved by the fire brigade. Its a FIRE CAR
Nice driving from across the pond, I must say you do need more lights and some airhorns like us in the USA.

I go the same way to work every night, if only the buses had blues and twos.

Edinburgh is and it's older than the LFB. In fact the LFB was started by James Braidwood who had started the first fire brigade in Edinburgh in 1824
i would of just totaled those people crossing the road at 03:37 - 03:40.
