First Metro Region* not City to have 2 International Airports. Don't know why people are still confused over a simple subject. Mumbai and Navi Mumbai are two completely different cities.
Still part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Area though- just like London Gatwick isn’t technically in London but still serves London
Navi Mumbai and Thane are not 2 different cities just diff municipal councils but part of MMR - Mumbai Metropolitan Region and hence is considered one city.

Hope there will be an atatched Ferry Terminal. This would make it exclusive to NMIA.
@@prithijit2729Just because they are a part of MMR, it doesn't mean that they are considered one city. We are the natives of this region, and no one here considers them a single city. Infact, both of these airports are in different districts. Mumbai airport is in the Mumbai district whereas Navi Mumbai airport is in the Raigad district.

Get your facts correct. The new airport is not even in the same district as Mumbai Airport. Mumbai Airport is in the Mumbai district whereas the Navi Mumbai airport is in the Raigad district.
New airport is just 30-40 mins drive from South mumbai thru Atal Setu

They can plan and build a world class airport but failed to build a basic transfer facility between two terminals. If your journey requires transfer from domestic to international, avoid Mumbai airport like plague

Only 2 runways, Noida and Delhi airport have 4 runways
It's just made for timepass wait for few months it will be in loss. Government hadn't made this airport thinking about public they made it according to their will and builder's lobby wish. Common man will not benefit from it. Reason it's too far from Main Mumbai even a person from Dadar or Thane will take 1 hour to reach there a normal western mumbai person will reach Goa till this time so only people from Navi Mumbai ,Thane and KDMC region will travel which is very less compared to whole of Mumbai. The revenue will be very less and will have a trouble to recover the money invested in it. Other thing it's made on River almost. So if there's flooding when heavy rain then it's gone finish everything.

@@skilz9525 traffic and situation is different in Bengaluru and Mumbai dude. It's totally hectic travelling in Mumbai. We need a airport right in the middle of the city where we can reach as soon as possible at home dude. I request you to come in Mumbai and see it yourself. It's very cumbersome travelling here population everywhere and crowd in train, bus, waiting for cab etc etc or it needs a very 4 to 6 runways where traffic will be less and so Airport will be used more for travelling and Cargo purpose relieving Mumbai Airport.
