    is it necessary to remove the brake assembly ?

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  Před 9 měsíci

      In this case, yes, you should remove the brake assembly

      No you don't need to. It doesn't make sense

    these are wrong torque numbers! BMW repair manual states: arm to subframe is 100Nm (tighten in normal load position/wheels on ground) and arm to wheel carrier is 175Nm! not 72Nm!
    also, you DO NOT need to remove the brake caliper!

      Thank you for the valuable clarification, for our viewers it will be very useful information.

      @user-kg1cm2hk9j Před 4 měsíci +1

      Exactly. The torque numbers in the video say NM but they're the (lower!) ft-lb values.

    Why did you remove brake caliper

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  Před 7 měsíci

      It is for easier access when replacing the lever.

    Why is the hub jacked up after loosely fitting the new control arm, before tightening?

    • @thomasstiglich3484
      @thomasstiglich3484 Před 9 měsíci +1

      If the hub is not jacked up to ride height before tightening the bushing, the bushing would be subject to a twisting torque after the car is lowered.

      @@thomasstiglich3484 ahh i see, thanks!

    Can you also provide NM torque for the other rear arm?

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  Před 3 lety

      For a given lever on the opposite side, the torque is the same at 80 nm.

    I don't see the #18 angled spanner listed in tools. What is that?

    It wasn't shown that the control arms are adjustable (at the inner end by a concentric bolt arrangement) and a 4-wheel alignment is required after fitting.

      I think you’re talking about the guide rod, this one doesn’t have the eccentric bolt / hole as mentioned
