- The Universal Orlando Resort will be getting a brand new park in 2025 with the grand opening of Epic Universe. However, that begs the question... can it beat the current best park in the resort? Find out as I compare Islands of Adventure to the upcoming Epic Universe.

Bold prediction to say Epic Universe will have a better restaurant than Mythos, but I will be happy to be proven wrong.
Universal Orlando is about to have the two best parks in America right next door to each other. And they still don't seem satisfied...
and studios 😂
Maybe one, depending if Epic turns out to be as great as is looking to be. Other than that I dont see the second. But Disney world does.
@@MrKelvin2230 I could definitely make the case for Disneyland being the best park in America. I would define none of the Disney World parks as the best in America. They are all ok to poor at the moment.
I’d probably define Disneyland and IOA as the two best at the moment. I don’t know if could rank them.
@@Iamthewillrose magic kingdom is honestly a pretty well layed out park with rides for everyone
@@graffiti.777 magic kingdom is a very meh park. Especially in comparison to the original, and far superior, Disneyland.
That damn Donkey Kong ride can be real special.
The Mario Kart ride isn't considered a dark ride? Or did I miss that explanation? Overall, it's insane that upon opening Epic Universe actually competes with IOA, which is my current favorite park in the US, and that one has been growing since 1999. Epic Universe seems to want to be extremely themed but also more family friendly than IOA, which is very smart for a future direction for Universal. I cannot wait to enjoy all three parks!!
Something to keep in mind is there are still 2 main expansion pads on the left and right center of park. plus expansion area in Harry Potter and Dark Universe
Same thing with IOA
I hope a major water ride gets added to 1 of them
@@Haazza theres a rumoured "creature of the black lagoon" ride for the dark universe expansion but idk if it would be a major water ride but just a scenic boat ride almost like Jaws. But yeah i agree they need at least one ripsaw falls or popeyes barges type of water ride. the only water ride planned for now is the splash water boat ride in how to train your dragon
@@themeparkenthusiast771 ohhh I see that’s a shame, and I think the how to train your dragon ride is also just a normal boat ride and not a splash battle
Its clear by this Universal Studios Florida is in desperate need of an overhaul and revamp to get it up the standard and quality of these other two parks as it is the original in Florida.
Absolutely.
Studios will get the investment. The reason IOA got all the investment last few years was it was easier to built hagrids and veliocoaster without too much negative impact on capacity during construction. Universal know that studios needs major work and need to close/bulldoze multiple attractions at same time to build new lands. Once epic is open they will close Simpsons/MIB to build Pokémon land. Also expect F&F to be completely redone. They have enough room to keep the garage/warehouse as qué then have racing launch coaster/s that start inside then emerge from garage go above the concourse and the majority of the layout is above the lake. With the fireworks/night time shows at Epic there is no need for water show at studios they can utilize that lake for a water ride as well as having a couple of coasters built out over it.
I think Epic Universe will be my favorite universal park because of the massive hub it has running through the middle. I am not a fan of lakes in the middle of parks so the fact the middle of the part is fully walkable is a massive win in my book.
Unpopular opinion, my hopes are for EU to make a hyper coaster or more… haven’t seen this yet from universal
Great predictions, IOA is my favorite park soooo it will be hard to beat
But Epic might just be able too
Not to mention any future expansions... E.U. will most likely get some record breaking coasters eventually
I’m really hoping for an intense wing coaster in the Harry Potter section to add on to a bit of the fantastic beasts theming. Perhaps riding the thunderbird through Paris? They have a big expansion plot right near the land. I’m also really hoping for the rumored creature of the black lagoon water ride because the park is really lacking.
If they don't build the Lagoon dark ride, I will be shocked!! And disappointed. I was hoping the werewolf ride would be like FLY from Phantasialand and it would take riders through and over the land.
wow thats actually a great idea!
I think B&M has a contract with Seaworld.. I don’t think they will work with another Orlando park anytime soone…. Being that Seaworld and BGT are support parks for Epic catching any overflow
Not true. Hulk is b&m
That would be awesome!!! I wouldn’t say it’s lacking though. It’s an entirely new theme park with tons to do. Always open to more expansions though. It’ll just grow the quality over time.
Super Nintendo world is as good as it looks. I went to the one in Japan and it’s honestly one of the best themed lands ever.
I wish after Epic opens, UO will turns its attention to the first two parks. I'd love IOA to do something more with the lagoon. It looks as if Lombard's is built on pilings. Not optimistic though. They have 3 performance areas (Sinbad, Toon Lagoon and Fear Factor) un-used as far I am aware. People are tired, sweaty or seeking shelter from rain and don't wanna wait in another line. Even a bunch of mediocre stand up comedians would be welcome. Gosh it's owned by an entertainment giant and they can't come up with something temporary to amuse guests in those spaces until a longterm replacement is decided.
I was waiting in the line for Hyperion at Energylandia Poland and I happened to be standing next to a guy from the Universal equivalent of Imagineering along with a guy from intamin who was part of the Hyperion design team. They would not say much about Epic Universe due to NDA but they did say that he has seen some of the new technology being tested that's coming to Epic Universe and it blew his mind.
He felt sorry for Universal parks because they will be left in the dust when it opens. I suggested he was talking about the fake trick track at Mario and he laughed and said no it's way more cool than that! Not much information but it was a nice chance encounter and sounds promising for things to come!
Are you going to rank every ride at Universal Orlando again when Epic Universe opens?😊
Most likely, yes! Not looking too ahead yet but I think that may be the goal
@@hellomerioI think this video is a tad bit premature. It’s too EARLY to compare the two
If they end up putting a LOTR land w/ a B&M coaster in the big expansion plot next to Fantastic Beasts & a Pokemon land in the space next to SNW, Epic Universe would hands down be my favorite theme park ever. Not even Zelda would be able to save IOA.
Lord of the rings will be one of the expansions at Epic but will probably be 2030 for the 5th anniversary. Once Zelda and epic universe are complete. Neither park will get anything new to around 2030. All the investment will go to studios to get that park up to the same level. Pokémon land being the biggest investment there
When Epic Universe Comes Out, all three parks will have 4 coasters, I’m not counting pteranodon flyers as a coaster just cause it acts more as a train/tour ride.
This would be pretty cool I think, you have the most intense/standout coaster at each park, Rip Ride Rockit, Velocicoaster, Starfall Racers. You would have a more kid oriented coaster, Troller Coaster (The Rumored Retheme of Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster), Flight of the Hippogriff, and Mine Cart Madness (The Donkey Kong Coaster). You would also have a decent family coaster, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, Harry Potter and the Escape From Gringotts, and Hiccup’s Wing Gliders (The Rumored HTTYD Coaster Name). The parks would also each have a unique coaster in Revenge of the Mummy, The Incredible Hulk, and Curse of the Werewolf.
Universal would have a really good coaster lineup with these new inclusions.
The Rumored Speeds for the new rides are currently…
Starfall Racers: 60-65 Mph
Hiccup’s Wing Gliders: 45-50 Mph
Curse of the Werewolf: 40-45 Mph
Mine Cart Madness: 30-35 Mph
star fall racers isn't mobius so it is actually 5 for Epic Universe
@@vhheroicis6131 well yeah technically 5 Coasters, but from my observations both are the same attraction
Great idea for a video! Here is where I agree/disagree. Despite Velocicoaster being my #1 coaster & I love the IOA water rides, as well. Here is my take:
Dark Rides) EU will be better
Water Rides) 100% IOA
Coasters) We need to see DK, Dueling, #2, and HTTYD first. Impossible to call this. That dueling coaster is made by Intamin who made VC. It is going to be incredible. We have to wait.
Kids) How to Train your Dragon vs broken down Suessland? Easy EU win.
I would put money on this being 3 to 1 in favor of Epic Universe.
Dueling coaster is by MACK Rides, not Intamin, which is why I hesitate a bit to say it'll be better than Velocicoaster. MACK Rides is still great but have weaknesses compared to Intamin
Is it new park or a bigger version of islands of adventure? I’m not sure why they keep building upon Harry Potter. It was a good series but not the end all of stories.
Completely agree. I'm sure the Paris theme will be amazing but Harry Potter seems to me like a boring and easy choice when Universal has so many other IP's and franchises to chose from. LOTR would've been amazing.
It's going to frustrate many ride junkies, they won't easily be able to do both parks in a single day, one park may be nearly empty, the other packed.
Epic looks more children and family orientated which is more Diney like which is why many older Disney/Universal YT liked Universal better is because its more for adults. Epic like Fresno is geared to families.
I agree but they also put the Monsters in there to even things out
Is it me or I think they should’ve made the minion land with more rides and more intense rides here in epic universe. That’s just me as a fellow minion lover.
Hello Mario
True!
Hi
Universal Studios is the best Universal park, you could say IOA has the better rides but Universal is simply the best park.Epic is 2 years away so who knows?
I'm definitely not biased (Trust me, no outside influence at all) but I think Nintendo World alone will top it LOL
Big response here. Giving EU the overall win seems like a reach for me. Just because it's the shiny new park, perhaps you feel it needs the hype more. The roller coasters point should be a push (if not an outright win for IOA). EU's dueling coaster in its hub is completely unthemed to anything and is just "there" (same for that generic carosel). However thrilling that coaster may be, Hagrid, Velocicoaster, and Hulk trio can't be beat by anything I've seen from EU. The point for younger kids sections/rides clearly favored IOA by a score of 7-4 as far as number of things for younger kiddos (toddlers) to ride and play on, so that point needed to go to IOA. The food, I feel, is going to be a push between IOA and EU. Love the british cuisine from Three Broomsticks and Mythos is an excellent restaurant (and personally I also love the Dr. Seuss theming inside that cafeteria), so I'd call that point even. Park theming again should be a push (at least). I feel EU missed an opportunity for another themed land as the "hub" and all it's rides are just nothing and generic. Also, not for not, but just looking at Nintendo World, it looks like Universal/Nintendo just vomited "all things Mario" everywhere with no discernable flow or story to tell. It looks jam packed and tight to squeeze everyone in there once crowds roll in. Not trying to be a hater but EU is shaping up to be somewhat underwhelming with a more kid friendly DK coaster (hoping it's a step above Disney's Slinky Dog Dash), kid friendly How to train Your Dragon coaster (again hopefully a step above Slinky Dog Dash), tame Mario Kart AR ride that goes 5 mph, a Yoshi people mover, and sub-par Harry Potter theme of the Ministry of Magic (which that location can't hold a candle to the magic feels from Hogsmede or Diagon Alley just in general) especially if it leans more into the Fantastic Beasts theming, which would be lame. The park should be neat and garner good times for sure, but expecting it to dethrone IOA, I feel, is not realistic at this point. Hopefully IOA does something special with the Lost Continent section (Zelda ride and show?)
I think there's part of that bias due to anticipation but I did try to balance it out as much as I could. The roller coaster point is close to even but you do make a good point about the dueling coasters' theming. The rest, however, should be themed fairly well. Kids rides are also fairly close but I do think the food will be far better at Epic Universe. I've been to Mythos twice yet never loved it and otherwise while some spots are good, nothing is quite standout. In comparison I thought Minions Cafe had some amazing offerings and if Epic Universe keeps that level of quality it should be great. Still, I get what you're saying, and we'll only really know when the park opens. I thought going into writing this script that IOA would easily win but now I'm not so sure. Thanks for watching and the great couterpoints!
Is this guy for real! He thinks a duel tracked Mac coaster will only just beat the rattle headache inducing hulk? IMO, this Mack coaster will crush Velocicoaster…
Nothing will come even remotely close to velocicoaster lol
@@insaneterror94 in your opinion 😁🎢
@@insaneterror94 personally I velly has some great elements fantastic theming but poor pacing and flow , plus I prefer Mack and RMC restraints
I just want universals to get rid of Springfield and MiB and replace it with anime
Studios has Springfield until 2028. Gonna be interesting to see what it’s replaced with.
They will replaced with Pokémon
@@stevepage4504I would rather Pokemon instead of anime cuz I don't watch anime

Not gonna lie i love universal but epic universe seems like it’s going to be bad from every thing we’ve seen so far … i can’t be the only one thinking this
Pretty sure you're the only one. It looks bloody amazing from every angle, and we're still almost 2 years away from opening.
I don’t think it’s going to handel the crowds that’s my only fear other then that park looks amazing I’m sure each land has a capacity at some point
@@CarlosMartinez-tj9ju i hope I’m wrong but what part about it sounds that exciting? Most of it seems like it’s for children, or it’s just things that are already in other parks
velocicoaster and hagrids are better than any coaster they are building at epic
