The whole idea of the chain is to make the anchor work.....the anchor is not going to tip over and stay dug in without the chains weight and the buffer between the rope and the anchor to keep dug in with waves bobbing the boat.
In regards to your comment about the anchor continuing to let the line out, the easy fix for that is once you know the anchor has hit the bottom, I have to flip the off switch and then it will lock itself in place and will not let anymore line out. You just have to make sure you know for sure the anchor has reached the bottom before doing that.
I have one. I think they are great. If u do travel at high speed on the water and don't stow it inside your boat, use the safety chain. I didn't and inadvertently hit the down button on the remote switch and the anchor dropped and hit the water, then it swung up and left a big dent in the side of the hull. I agree with you, get a 30# anchor, but it does make a smaller boat list a bit on the front to the side the anchor is hanging from.
I bottom fish and my front and rear anchor line are both 100ft, I drop my rear anchor and move forward 100ft then drop my front anchor and back up 50ft that way I have a good hold between my front and rear anchors, would I be able to do that with these anchors?
I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE 30 LBS ANCHORS STICKING GOING DOWN. I HAVE TRIED 18 LBS AND STILL CATCHES ON THE WAY DOWN. WHAT EXACTLY IS THE ANCHOR YOU ARE USING IN THIS VIDEO?

Can this anchor winch use for seawater
Best invention ever
Works great
still works perfect
Does the minn Kota deploy and come up with only one push of the button?
Will this release on strong current like a river
Would you buy this product again? Are you happy with it and is it reliable?
There is a automatic stop when it comes in and stows. Minkota has help to adt. this feature.
Do you know if they make a quick release bracket for this? I don't want it to interfere with my custom cover.
I believe they do
Mine will go down but won’t go back up. What’s wrong with it? Tia
What’s the name of this anchor type ?
I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE 30 LBS ANCHORS STICKING GOING DOWN. I HAVE TRIED 18 LBS AND STILL CATCHES ON THE WAY DOWN. WHAT EXACTLY IS THE ANCHOR YOU ARE USING IN THIS VIDEO?
Mine won’t stay up. Any ideas?
I need a 25 foot lead wire from the bow to the stern what size gauge wire did you use for your deckhand?
8 gauge.. I bought a set of jumper cables and cut the clamps off. Was way cheaper than buying wire
Would you install 2 of them on the back of your aluminum boat and use them like power poles
I would put 1 on the front and 1 one the back
what sort of battery drain are you seeing from it, and what bank are you running?
Just one single 12 volt battery I've used it all day long with no problem..battery has about 40% charge left when I get home
EXCELLENT
thanks
Do you have any issues with debris collecting on the rope and then accumulating inside the housing? Thanks for the video
Surprisingly not but we do fish in pretty clear lakes but I really don't see that an issue
@@addismultitasking3504 Thanks for the reply
Will this work with a fork anchor?
im not positive, but I think it would
U cant drive with it up or
you can, i just like the anchor in the boat instead of putting pressure on the anchor brake
I drive with mine up all the time. No issues.
Why anchor are you using
25lb
When it stops working it needs a new brain board.... $30 on Amazon. Im on my 2nd deckhand 40 and 3rd brain board.
thanks
It is not an easy install with a sealed deck. And frankly the directions suckIt is not designed for an easy install
Pretty dumb there is no auto shut off lol
