This is the Doctor Strange Radio Show. I believe these were broadcast in 1967. I don't know if these are in the right order but I'll do my best.
Doctor Strange Radio Show - Episode 1 of 6
WOW!
Wow, this is so good! Much better than the movies I have seen, I am sorry to say. This really pops into my mind and makes images and scenes appear in my fantasy. It's very well made. I don't think the technical limitations of the time means it's much different than "audio-dramas" produced these days. I find it rich in exotic details, voices, sounds, which makes it more meaningful and valuable/flattering to me as the audience than some slick modern production which doesn't feel like anybody has been required to put much effort into making it.
Nice find! I read of its existence when I was younger but I couldn't even find a website where it used to be.
What a treat! Who even knew of these? Creators "Rapp!Zanger!" conjured up TECHIE TIME blossoming from the unifying counter culturally legendary listener-sponsored radio station WBAI, which, like Marvels Doctor was based in the Village in NY. Some of us eventually would be dropping acid going to other dimensions ourselves! They like the Firesign Theater inspired Alan Porzio & I as HUMAN FOLLY w. our reel to reel recordings, plays, experiments in Rockaway 1970-72. Never thought id see Doc S on screen and done so right! Ditto these 6 treasures! High quality audio magic Rapp & Zanger (must've thought highly of the strip)
He doesn't take Medicaid patients? WTF 😒
Not as good as Chandu the Magician the radio show that influenced Stan Lee, but kind of fun.
They made a radio show??
Wow didn't know they had a Doctor Strange Radio Series! Cool!
Awesome !!!
This episode is based on issue 115 of Strange Tales.
By the Vishanti, I had no idea there was a radio show! Lol Dude, you just made my day with this.
Wow, stranger than the Green Lama! Thanks, fun upload. :)
OK - this is very interesting. I'm gonna listen to this. ....I really think a lot of comics, these days would get away with becoming full blown books - then audiobooks...of course. ;-)
Obscure stuff. How on earth did you come across this? Thank you JR. Hysterical the Ancient One sounds just like Peter Sellers Bluebottle character from the Goon Show.. Stan and Steves second greatest creation.
