Making small wheel belt grinder - Small Wheel attachment

  • Hello, friends.
This time I decided to postpone large projects and start making a machine that I really need in the workshop.
In this video, I will share with you the process of making a small, narrow profile belt sander that can be used to contour metal with different diameters.
As many of you have already seen, some time ago I already made a large multifunctional belt grinder, but for more precise processing I needed a Small Wheel attachment belt grinder.
With this machine I can make knives and even a Katana sword, which I have wanted to make for a very long time.
Share your opinion, how do you like this approach? And what would you do if you had such a machine at home?

Every video that I watched of yours is just absolute fascination. I always know where you're heading.....
    ...well not always. 🥴
You seem to operate a lot on calculated instincts. Maybe there's math and engineering behind the scenes that we don't see.
I'm speaking up things like that tensioner that you made and how you came about with that particular spring and that length of arm. I see the extra holes to find tune the tensioner, but the other geometry has me totally blown away.

I always set my lathe on low rpm (200 RPM) and use a hacksaw with a 14tpi blade to do all my parting off carefully, It always works well and has saved me a small fortune in parting off tools which always seem to overheat, grab, snap and dislodge the workpiece in the process !
