- 45% Giant Scale Challenger Pitts nearly destroyed after either RF ignition problem using a old JR 2.4 receiver or it’s too tail heavy? It looked like it was tail heavy because it appeared too sensitive and the more power he adds the worst it gets; when he slows down it gets calmer and pitches nose up.
Gotta love a tail heavy plane!
Salute to the pilot who smartly safely brought the airplane down....
but not smart not checking the CG !
Beautiful looking bipe, there!
Never forget to wear a helmet at Markham Park
Nice job getting her down in that situation. Could have snapped and rolled inverted any second but saved it.
Great example of why you never give up on flying it. Fight it all the way in.
Bring that man a change of shorts! Good outcome
Almost like a reverse gyro? Love how he flip start 🤔
Great save of the sweet plane !
Had a similar thing happen but only ailerons were affected. I was using an RCexel remote throttle cut but from a single battery to the RX, I took the RCexel remote kill switch off and no more issues! I did however move the satellite RX much further away and rerouted the aileron servo extensions further away from the power leads and RX.
Looked aft CG, but good save!
I had the same problem with the ignition cut off switch I used a smart fly with a fiber optic cable it never had a problem since
I had exactly such a problem only that in my case I recognized the problem on the ground and not on the air.
The problem for me was interference from the ignition , as long as the engine was running, the control surfaces would move by themselves.
I replaced the engine and the ignition and left the rest of the components on the plane and the problem disappeared.
Yes I had too one the boys said the was no spring in the plug cap fitted the spring and all was good. He is a good pilot to save his plane like.
Thanks for all comments. But the problem wasn’t the tail heavy or the rudder servo inverted. The problem was the signal radio or something in the system. I have a new NX 10 spectrum and I already flow this airplane like 6 times the CG is perfect everything was perfect. When I push the throttle the airplane was flying like no control. Was really scare but thanks God plane is safe , just the prop . Now I need to know what’s happened w my system.
The only less than perfect variable is flying a Spectrum radio, seen too many unexplained crashes with them. When you cut back on throttle you regained some control. RF interference. A guy said he had the same problem with his Corsair, what was his radio. The answer is not more satellites.
Muito bom!!
I have seen this happen many time and with different brands of transmitter. Found the problem to be in a loose spark cap. The spring clam on the spark cap heats up and becomes loose. One fix is to remove the spring clamp use a hose clamp. Tighten it on the spark cap problem is gone. I have helped several people with this same problem. Most of the time it only affects one control surface. Test by starting engine monitor all control surfaces. Slowly advance throttle slowly check control, problem occurs at half throttle or greater. Hope this helps.
You problem started with the choice of Radio gear1
Nothing like a U-turn take off with a tail dragger to create a little "pucker factor". Glad there was no damage. That could have been ugly.
Nice save
Amazing save
CG !
2 things...1. BALANCE YOUR PLANE BEFORE FLIGHT...it was clearly far too tail heavy....2...buy a Jeti radio and you wont have any more issues with radio gear
Looked like it was tail heavy. ?? Old receiver? Another variable. Balancing how was it done ? With scales I assume.
Yeah. My vote and 2 cents worth is tail heavy. Great save!
I like your colors. The graphics are very nice. Care to share where you acquired them?
All the things he was saying about it but that take off was horrendous.
So impressive he saved that by adapting to switching between throttle and control surfaces
Rudder was on the wrong position during take off.. Maybe a gyro or reverse channel ?
Nothing like not checking weight and balance correctly:), RF? Yeah no….tail heavy…very lucky…
It’s seems a basic requirement to have the correct centre of gravity before flying, it sure looked like it was tail heavy?
beautiful plane this video shows the skill of the pilot
That is amazing!
Looks like you have a CG problem
He got lucky
looks tail heavy.
Nevertheless . . . great save !
desperate. a lot of money involved. glad it ended well
CG is the problem.
Blaming the radio😆😆😆try balancing your plane first😆😆😆
Mate you don't deserve it , way to tail heavy .
Man that could have been soo bad 😅
Rudder
I wasn’t sure if he was doing a “flying farmer” routine or if he really doesn’t know how to fly.. I’m thinking the second one..
I believe is not the first our the second but the third one ( you don’t know to ready. Because if you do it you will see the problem is the radio . Thank you
He certainly knows how to fly! Precheckes could be better though! That's also piloting. After all he saved the plane which was maybe one percent doable! Good job!
@@rodneisenhoreti8161 oh I didn’t realize that.. good save then! Beautiful plane!
Se lo bilanci è meglio
Way to tail heavy
Flaps down under full throttle can make it whip all over as well. It happened to me .
LEBENSGEFÄHRLICHES ANLASSEN::
EXTREME HORRIBLE ENGINE SOUND::
I really like your colors and graphics on your model. Care to share how you acquired them?
